Acting normal
Your POV:
~ Dream ~
I seem to see that woman's point of view again, but why do I keep seeing these visions of sorts? My head turns and I see a man walk into the room. I think it's a kitchen. "These hunters were in the forest again," He says in a surprisingly guttural voice. I hear myself sigh as I turn back to the kitchen sink, washing the dishes. "What if they see you, (Y/F/N)? We need to move out of this town," I say in a distressed tone.
"We can't move while you're about to give birth, you know that. It could be dangerous for our baby." At this, I put one of my hands on my round belly. Wait, why would hunters be dangerous to them? Strong arms wrap around me and I sigh again, closing my eyes as I put my head against his chest. "I know... I'm just worried. Humans have always hated our kinds even though we don't eat them." Eat them!? Humans... our kinds? Wait- then are they really...
Before I can finish my thought, I start seeing flashes of memories, as if pictures lost in time. The day of birth. The man's worried face, his eyes filled with tears. Hands holding, one extremely pale and the other normal. Echoes of screams from far away. Glowing yellow eyes. A large grey wolf almost as big as a horse. A gunshot. Blood, so much blood everywhere. Tears mixed with red on matted grey fur. Then, black.
~ End of dream ~
I wake up in tears, my body covered in cold sweat and shaking like a leaf. "Am I- was he- where they-" is all that comes out of my mouth in a voice I almost don't recognize even though it's mine. Is this true? No, it's impossible.
Is anything truly impossible in a world with superheroes?
I sit up, careful not to hit my head on the ceiling. Looking out of the window, I see that it's already the morning. Wait... what time is it!? I quickly go down the bunk beds and look at my phone. "I'm gonna be late!" I yell suddenly, looking at Peter and not even hesitating before shaking him awake. "Peter, we're gonna be late! Wake up!" He grumbles a bit but finally opens his eyes.
He had probably forgotten I was there because, using his spider strength, basically flipped me and pinned me to the bed. I don't know whether I should be embarrassed or annoyed right now. He blinks a couple of times before jumping a good two meters away. I get up with a yawn, feeling my cheeks burning. "Oh my god, I'm so sorry for pinning you, I thought it was an evil guy, not that you look like a guy or a bad person in general-" He said way too fast for me to understand it all.
"D-don't worry about it, I probably shouldn't have shaken you awake since you're Spider-Man," I say awkwardly before pointing at the time. "But we're really about to be late right now." As soon as he sees the time, he starts sprinting back and forth in his room as if I'm not there, getting ready. I'm guessing he's used to this?
"Um... Peter? Could you- um... well, you see... I don't really have clothes and, well..." I find myself barely stuttering up this half-sentence as I cannot find a way to properly ask him to lend me some clothes. I mean, I have night clothes from aunt May but her normal clothes wouldn't fit me.
"O-oh! Wait a bit!" He quickly takes a hooding and pants. I thank him and prepare to go to the bathroom to change when his voice stops me. "Wait, shouldn't you stay at home? I'm sure the school wouldn't mind because of... what happened..."
I shake my head. "N-no... I'd rather concentrate on something else. And I'll feel lonely if I stay here alone, right?" I smile shyly at him and he nods. Wait, is he blushing or is that just my imagination? Anyway, I should go change.
As we start walking to school, I see Ned arrive. "Hey, guys! (Y/N)? You're going to school?" I chuckle awkwardly as I nod. "Uh, yeah. H-how are you?" I quickly change the subject. He starts going on to Peter and me about some sort of project, but I'm honestly not paying attention. I don't mean to, of course! I just can't stop thinking about everything that has happened in such a short period.
I'm going to school to STOP thinking about it, I should really learn to listen to myself. I come back to reality before Ned asks the dreaded question. Well, not for me. For Peter, I'm guessing. "You got bit by a spider? Can it bite me?" Wait, he did? I just realized that I never learned anything after finding out he was Spider-Man. "Well, it probably would've hurt, right? Whatever, even if it did hurt, I'd let it bite me." Same thing here, Ned. "Maybe. How much did it hurt?"
"The spider's dead, Ned." Bollocks. Though, I may already have some powers. No, stop thinking about it! "Whoa." I look up at what Ned said and my eyes widen as I see a destroyed shop. Wait, wasn't that the shop I followed Peter into? "What happened here?" The two boys turn to me as I ask.
"Uh... well..." Hesitates Peter, so I turn to Ned. "Spider-Man, I mean, Peter, tried to stop some thieves but they used a weird laser gun that destroyed everything," Blurts out Ned as Peter facepalms with a sigh. "I was kinda trying to keep that from her, Ned..." I frown in confusion. "What do you mean?"
He looks away shyly as he starts stumbling through his words. "W-well, that's kind of what I wanted to talk to you about the other day, but then you were in trouble, and then so much happened that I decided to not stress you even more by telling you about it." I feel myself blush as I hide my face in his hoodie without realizing. "Thank you... but you don't need to worry about that. I'm just worried about you right now." "Yeah, you were in there?" Asks Ned with almost a sense of disbelief. "You could have died," We both say at the same time as Peter turns to us.
The serious moment is broken as Ned asks something else. "Do you lay eggs?" What the hell? How is this guy more random than me? "What? Nooo," Answers Peter. I find myself sighing in relief even though I was pretty sure he didn't. That would have been really weird.
As the day goes on, he keeps asking really weird and specific questions.
During science class. "Can you spit venom?" "No." "Can you summon an army of spiders?" "No, Ned."
During History class. "How far can you shoot your webs?" "It's unknown. Shut up." "If I was you, I would stand on the edge of a building, and just shoot it as far as I could-" "Shut up, Ned."
In PE class, I sit next to Peter as Ned sits on the other side. I listen to the Captain America video with a small smile on my face. I've honestly always loved Captain America and all of the Avengers. I wonder what really happened in Sokovia. "Do you know him too?" I freeze as I stare at Peter, waiting for his answer. "Yeah, we met." I grip his arm with imaginary stars in my eyes. "That's incredible..." He glances at me and seems to stutter a bit before turning back to the small tv. "I stole his shield."
Oh. My. God. WHAT!? My grip on his arm gets even tighter. "Peter, did you film it? MJ told me you like filming everything. Did. You. Film. It?" I am completely serious right now. I need to know. He nods, looking at me from the corner of his eye. I'm almost glowing with happiness at this point. "Could I see it? Pleaseeeeeee?
(Y/N) uses puppy eyes. It's super effective.
"Y-yeah, of course." I grin brightly. "Yay!"
Then, we have to actually do PE. Which I hate. I don't necessarily hate physical activities. I just hate PE because I'm forced to do physical activities.
I look around but everyone already has a partner. Wait, MJ isn't with a partner, she's reading a book! That's funny, but also really fricking hilarious. I jog to her. "H-hi! Can I fake-train with you?" She shrugs. "Sure." I hold down her feet as she simply moves her book up and down. Then, she closes it and looks at me, making me mentally panic. Does hse hate me? Did I do something wrong? Am I ugly because of crying?
"Why are you wearing Peter's clothes?"
I'm dead!!!
