"Have you watched the new Barbie movie yet? It's so good! She turns into a mermaid and her tail is so gorgeous." Nine year old Amber Fields worshipped Barbie religiously.
"Barbie is stupid. Watch My Little Pony. I love Rainbow Dash."
...And her best friend, Blair was just the opposite, hating Barbie with passion.
"No. Barbie is not stupid. You are stupid. At least I'm not in love with fantasy horses like you are. I like Barbie. She's pretty. Prettier than you, prettier than me. And I want a pretty boyfriend, just like the one she has," Amber replied hastily.
Blair didn't like being called stupid. She didn't like it at all.
"I'm NOT stupid. You're the dumb one. She's just plastic. Okay? Can we just forget about this? I don't like fighting with you," Blair confessed.
But little did they know they had an enthusiastic stalker, enjoying the soon-to-be cat fight.
"No! Don't stop. It's fun watching you fight. Come on, hit each other already!" Out came Peter Hale. In all the glory of his 5'1 self. He was pretty tall for someone aged nine, but his chubbiness made up for it.
Both, Amber and Blair, slowly turned their heads to face the culprit.
"You better run before I start pulling your cheek," Blair warned.
Amber had been fantasizing about pulling his cheek for quite a while now. And since the day she shared this guilty pleasure to Blair, she had also piqued Blair's interest in the act. Overall, they really wanted to pull Peter's cheek from a very long time.
"No, thank you. The last time was painful enough. I'll go." Peter could forgo his stalking desires for a while. Rather than being tortured by two girls.
This habit had started about two months ago, when he saw Amber in a party dress at Wendy Jamison's engagement. She looked like an angel to his little eyes and since then, he's been wanting to talk to her, but somehow couldn't muster up enough courage for it. Which explained the sneaking around. Well, he wouldn't call it that. He called it "observing".
Some kind of observation that was.
"I like Barbie too," he said to himself softly, making up his mind that even though he doesn't particularly enjoy the pink dress clad woman with a seemingly perfect life named Barbie, he'd try to watch her movies. Just so that he could converse with his almost "crush".
