A Void to Fill

Edge of night, eyes close to mourn the truth;

My heart begins to harden from all the sorrow.

The days are cold, nights grow old;

Time stands still, the days ongoing.

And here I stand, frozen, still,

Waiting for someone, a void to fill.

Waiting for someone to find me,

To protect me from my demons

Yet I cannot see my saviour for unknown reasons.

I am blinded by my sorrow,

Too numb to feel the pain.

And what is worse,

There is no shelter from this rain.

A single drop, I must confess,

This infernal weakness, this insipid blame,

My lonely soul cannot find a place to rest.

My broken heart is looking for something to care for,

But all I find is emptiness and pain.

I wish to rid myself of the darkness trapped inside

So I may escape this prison, this loneliness.
