Chapter 24

Percy woke up in the middle of a pool, the water coming down his throat and into his lungs was steady and clean. He looked around and saw that there were celestial bronze and so thick that they could've been easily put around a giants wrist and strained for centuries with not a single crack.

Retribution was brought inside of the emergency Poke-center and brought into a room weigh in the back, and his body twitched just as they put him on the table in the center of the room and they all exited and the tired pokemon, Sylveon and the Nurse's Psycic Pokemon were pulled back into their poke balls as everyone went into a room overlooking Retribution's from the other side of a clear glass pane.

Percy looked up to see Polybotes dipping his trident into the top of the water.
"Now in the other dimension that you are in as some other being" Polybotes started "they won't be able to see what this will do to you, but once the poison reaches you they'll know that something is wrong while you drown in the very thing that you used to love"
The poison was spreading through the water faster now and once it touched Percy's hair he immediately sucked in all the clean water that he could and held his breath, underwater, as the poison from Polybotes' trident drifted down his body, turning the water around him green and Percy's one good eye burned with concentration as Percy struggled to keep the death-water out.

Bonnie and the others were worried, Retribution hadn't moved for the past hour and they were wondering it it had gone into a coma. The screen atop of the window overlooking the room that Retribution was in showed that his vitals were fine, but Bonnie knew that something bad was happening in the place no one could see...his mind.

Percy felt the strain of the water inside of his lungs, threatening to tear them loose, but Percy held on. He had been holding his breath for a couple hours now and Polybotes got tired of taunting him and stirring the water around him and he just stabbed his trident into the bottom of the pool, the water didn't start draining out like Percy thought that it would though. It just went around the trident. Staying away from it as some sort of enchantment kept the water from coming any closer to it.
"Now I knew that you would be annoying to watch and taunt, injure, and kill but this is just taking too long" he flashed into the water and appeared in-front of Percy. Then Polybotes slammed his fist into Percy's stomach and Percy strained to keep his breath from spilling out, and it wasn't till the fifth punch, causing Percy's ribs to bruise, that Percy couldn't stand the pressure anymore and his breath was forcefully expelled from his body. Just as quickly as it went out more came in as Percy tried to take another breath.

Bonnie was tired of watching Retribution suffer while she couldn't do anything about it and she had quickly left the room and ripped into the room of which Retribution was in. Then once she was at his head she put a hand on his neck and whispered apologies that she couldn't help him through his pain and reassuring words that he was going to get through whatever it was that was keeping him trapped inside of his mind.

The poisoned water burned the inside of his lungs, worse so than the craving for air and Percy tried to take in breath after breath before his vision started to darken and just as Percy breathed in the last 'breath' of poisoned water, he felt a hand on his neck, Bonnie. She was telling him that he was going to get through this pain and that she was sorry for not being able to help him. And Percy's last thought as he slipped into darkness was 'you being there at my side is good enough Bonnie'

As soon as Bonnie touched the left side of Retribution's neck his entire body went limp and for a minute he stopped breathing, and then his big triangular head moved towards Bonnie and her hand was moved from the side of his neck to the top of his snout without her even moving it, and it now rested on the top of Retribution's snout. His Scared right eye, though closed, still showed that his eyes was now unable to be used.

Percy didn't even want to open his eye, as he could already smell the death in the room, but he did anyways, and he immediately regretted it. There were bodies everywhere, and not regular bodies, but of those that Percy knew personally: His parents with metal stakes in their chests, a burned child at their feet, Annabeth's body, but the head was laying at Percy's tied up hands and feet, Leo facedown in a puddle of water, the twins both having been torn in half and put on each-others' bodies, Piper and Jason both tied together in sparking chains, Hazel crushed underneath a giant pillar of gold, Clarisse without a left hand, with a sword still through her heart, and Nico's body also without a head, but also with a dagger in the chest and his head on a pike at the edge of the Pit.

Retribution shuddered involuntarily making Bonnie relinquish her hold on him, and as soon as her hand left his body his skin durned a deep black and grey. And when she touched him once more his skin returned to normal and his shuddering lessened. She looked back at the others and they all nodded, telling her silently to stay in there and at Retribution's side. The booms of Pokémon battles had started once again but Bonnie didn't care. She was going to stay at Retribution's side, even if it meant that she'd had to leave the tournament.

Percy looked down again and saw that his hands were free once more and Riptide was there, point in the ground in front of him. The hilt at eye-level and he quickly grabbed it, yanked it from the ground, and stabbed himself in the heart. His body betraying his mind telling it to stop and when his vision darkened once more he saw a line, a line tethering him from this Hell in his mind to the world he was in, to Bonnie.

The next two battles went on quickly without a single movement from Retribution and Bonnie was staying strong for her Pokémon. Then four other flashes of light invaded he room and Bonnie saw her other Pokémon surrounding her and Retribution. Even Tyrantrum was dealing with the small cramped space to touch Retribution with its snout and then a bright light enveloped them all and Retribution's eye opened.

Bonnie cried with joy and hugged Retribution around the neck, and Retribution looked down at her with its one good eye and then around the room at the others around them and nodded his thanks. He was the one that needed to be strong once more, he wouldn't let the tears fall from his eye, or his guilt get out of hand for his past life. He was done with that past and as soon as he accepted that once and for all.

That Retribution was home, a weight lifted off from him and his mind was cleared from his guilt, worry, or pain from the things of the past. The others saw his nod and nodded back in understanding and then they all touched their poke-balls once more and were sucked back into them.

Retribution stood and jumped down from the table, the door to the hallway slid open and Retribution nudged Bonnie onto his back and Dedenne crawled up his tail to place itself back on Bonnie's shoulder squeaking happily.

He left the room to find the others leaving the other room and standing in front of Retribution. And Retribution looked at the ground with his good eye, and then back at them.

I think that you already know this, but my past life was pretty bad, with powerful people and curses that didn't like to break, until now that is Retribution sighed as they all nodded, except for the nurse, who was in slight shock.

"What was that" the nurse said suddenly and Retribution shook his head and smiled showing a tooth-filled mouth and the nurse paled and looked at the others expectantly. But they just shook their heads and shrugged.

"Retribution gets flashbacks of his past life in another world" Bonnie said from atop Retribution's back. And everyone looked at her as to why she knew that, and then it snapped for them all when they first met Retribution, and they said "oh's" and "that's rights" before looking back at the nurse and she shook her head in disbelief but moved on from the subject and came closer to Retribution and tentatively reached for his damaged eye but stopped three feet before it and lowered her hand stepping back.

No that's permanent and I will now be blind on my right side for the rest of my life, unless either one of my transformations, or something else in the future heals it completely and I would be a very lucky being if so Retribution said and then smiled I see this as a challenge, something that'll help me improve my fighting.

Ash smiled at that and so did everyone else, and then the next line of contestants was about to be announced and there was to be a one hour break until the semi-finalists have their grand battle to determine the final two contestants in the final battle to become champions of this Kalos League tournament.

It showed Sean against a familiar girl that Retribution felt like he knew and then it showed Bonnie against the kid with Rayquazza, Crash was his name, and Retribution remembered the girls name, Amanda. He wondered how she was handling the Mega Stone that he formed for her and her Blastiose, and if she found any more Mega Stones for any of her other Pokémon.

"Retribution didn't you go against that kid in the last tournament a couple years ago, he was the one that is friends with Rayquazza right?" Bonnie said and Retribution nodded never tearing away his eyes from the screen.

It seems that once again, his sister and him have made their way through the tournament and into the upper ranks once again Retribution said I hope nothing goes wrong like it did last time.

Retribution shuddered and then they all walked to the front of the building and just before they stepped outside. Bonnie jumped down from on Retribution's back and sent him into his Poke-ball, and Retribution watched through Bonnie's eyes as she stepped into the light, and then everyone parted ways and Bonnie went to find some food.

All of her Pokémon were hungry and Retribution told Bonnie that after their battles and being healed at the center, they were all very hungry. So she quickly went to the store and got some apple puffs before heading to the nearest park so that they could all eat in peace, and once they were there. All of Bonnie's Pokémon came out and immediately started to nudge at the bags in Bonnie's hands before she even got the chance to sit down.

Bonnie pushed them all away laughing and emptied all of the bags, besides hers onto the ground, in a line while all of the Pokémon watched patiently. Then right after she took the first bite of her food, theirs was being rushed and torn into not a second after. Retribution opened the void and made the boxes of extra Poke-puffs appear in front of them all.

Three boxes piled high with a mountain of Poke-puffs sent the others into a frenzy and Retribution told them all to leave one puff left in the box. And though it was had to do, they listened, and twice Retribution had to use his powers to duplicate the left over Poke-puffs and turn them into mountains.

After that the warning bell for ten minutes till the matches started once more and Bonnie quickly closed he boxes, I put them in the void, and then the gathered everyone into their poke balls and ran for the coliseum. She arrived just at the nine minute mark and was ushered to her room where the door hissed shut and the TV turned on automatically.

Retribution decided that if he was gonna eat at all it would be now, so he came out from his Poke-ball, as did the others and they all greeted him and said that they were glad that he was okay before sitting down or laying down and watching/listening to the TV while Retribution created a mountain of Poke-puffs half as y'all as him and devoured them in seconds.

Bonnie looked at him and thanked him for using his powers to make the Poke-puffs last longer and duplicate so that she didn't have to buy tons more and Retribution just shrugged and said that it was nothing really. But Bonnie hugged him nonetheless and Retribution was frozen for a second before creating more blue puffs and devouring them in the blinks of an eye.

Once he got through his fifth or so mountain, he stopped and watched the TV as well as they described the past of each semi-finalist and something about each of their Pokémon. Crash was up first, and they couldn't say anything about his sixth Pokémon because there was little known about it, or why it had decided to battle for him. Then came Bonnie with her mysterious bond with Retribution, and what else she could've gotten. Then they explained a little about Sean, his Pokémon, and Amanda and her Pokémon as well before the screen cut to Sean and Amanda walking in a side by side split screen video as they approached the stadium from opposite sides of the coliseum.

When they got to the center of the stadium the two greeted, said good luck to each other, and then their platforms parted as the arena floor came up. It was mountains of rock with steel beams showing here and there. A steel, ground, and rock type arena floor. With a boost towards those specific types and a slight counter towards their weakness' as well.

Then the two got out their first Pokémon and the battle began with two specific orders, and one ultimate goal...winning.

So this is a long deserved chapter, I am gonna try to update more, but I hope that you enjoy and I will see you in the next one
