Chapter 12
Retribution's POV
Once I changed I saw the shock on the person's face, and I noticed that they had relaxed, but I was really projecting an image of who I used to be. It took a long while to figure out, but I eventually mastered it and had been able to trick fish into thinking I was in-front or behind them when really I was on the other side, and they were my meal.
I grinned
"Better?" I asked and the person seemed to get out of their shock and I was about to ask about the rules for entering, but the other person spoke first.
"How'd you do that" they asked and I smiled
"I'm still a Pokemon, but I've developed the ability to mimic an original appearance to make me look human, but I don't like it" I said and they nodded "but is it possible to enter the tournament as just a Pokemon with no trainer." I said glancing over at Ash's line to see them silently watching our conversation in wonder and awe.
"U-um I don't know" he said and then bent over underneath the desk and got out a large book which I presumed was the rules. After a little flipping he closed the book and put it back before looking back at me.
"I don't see any rules preventing you from entering, so good luck I guess and enjoy the tournament" he said and moved to a computer as I took away to glamour as I turned away and opened my wings to fly off
"Wait! What's your name so I can enter it into the system" he said and I stopped for a slight second before shooting off and using my telepathy to tell him, and him alone.
My name's Retribution I said and then I folded my wings as I did a long arc through the air and started to fall through the air in a backwards dive. Then I quickly turned around and opened my wings slightly a foot above the ground and shot in-between the long lines and under the archway into the building. I smelled for the scent of Ash and found it making me dip into a lower tunnel and into the dark where a plume of flame was illuminating two figures up ahead. I opened my wings up further and stopped myself making a large gust of wind to make the flame go out for a second. I quickly looked around and saw that it was Ash and Alain right next to each-other with the Charizard illuminating the way. Charizard breathed another continuous plume of fire, and I got in-front of Ash with a large toothy smile, just as the fire illuminated my face and he looked up and screamed before shooting down the tunnel with Pikachu right behind him.
I looked over to see Alain smiling, and I grinned.
That was a-lot more fun than I thought that it would be I said and he nodded before we bother started to walk and we talked for the rest of the time until I saw to figures standing at the side of the gate with pads in their hands. They looked at Alain and motioned him to go on when we got there, and he went into the light and I didn't see him again through the sheet of white until I slitted my eyes letting less light through and I saw a line of contestants with three Pokemon behind them and Alain got out the Metagross and another Pokemon that I didn't recognize. They then joined the line and the Charizard, Metagross, and other greenish Pokemon got behind him in triangle formation.
I looked at the people and they went through the list and then stepped in the way like they were blocking it from me entering.
Really I thought then I remembered that the guy was probably so scared that he forgot to add that I was a Pokemon. I reedited their list to fix that mistake and asked them to look at it again. They looked at it again and I sighed.
My name's Retribution, and I'm prabably the first wild Pokemon in your history to compete in a trial I said and though they were clearly shocked they were about to let me through but instead touched their ear-pieces and asked me to step aside into a dark corner where no one would see me. I did as they asked and for the next hour, people came and I could hear the talking and cheering of the crowds as a loudspeaker was activated.
3rd POV
The loudspeakers beeped loudly making everyone chatter quickly with excitement and then just as quickly quiet as a voice flooded the room with sound.
"Thanks you for attending the tenth annual Tournament of Kalos and all the trainers that you see here are going to be competing for the title of Pokemon master" they said and then were silent for a little while "and apparently it seems something new is also going to be competing. A Pokemon who is unknown to many and it is going to be competing as well. They have asked me to call it out personally"
Retribution was frowning, it didn't want attention at all for being an unknown Pokemon.
"But since the rules state that only a trainer can win the title. That means that even though this new Pokemon is going to be competing to get to the top. No madder what happens at the end. The trainer will be the one to get the medal" Retribution huffed in amusement. It didn't want another title, or a stupid medal. It just wanted to have a good time "you can come out now Retribution"
Everyone stared at the tunnels in expectancy as they waited to see what was going to come through and Retribution slowly walked through the white light letting it's eyes return to normal and then once it was entirely visible everyone, besides Ash, Alain, and the others, gasped. Retribution stood where it was not moving towards the other contestants because it knew that it would make them uncomfortable, and because it was uncomfortable and nervous. Usually letting more power seep through it's form, scent, and look.
Hello Retribution finally said and many jaws dropped as Retribution projected it's thoughts. A feat that people only thought that Mewto was capable of doing, but Retribution continued I thank you for the opportunity to participate in this tournament it turned to the participants before stopping at it's friends and it will be an awesome experience battling you all during these next few days.
"Due to Retribution battling as well the participants that are going against him will only be able to use one of their Poke--" the announcer was cut off as the coms cut out...because of Retribution.
No. They can battle with all of their Pokemon, and don't you dare say otherwise Retribution's eyes glowed silver as he spoke directly to the announcer through the com's systems and then they stopped and there was a beep as the com's came back.
"Apparently, though unwise, Retrubution is allowing the trainers to compete against it with all five of their Pokemon. Meaning all the previous rules, most of you already know, still apply. One Pokemon per knockout, fouls, and withdraw rules" the person said and Retribution smiled as the trainers looked at it in shock. Besides Ash and Alain who were smirking, and Clemont who was anxious because he's seen Retribution's power first-hand against four Very powerful Pokemon. Now please all competitors, go through the door opening in-front of you and you will be called when it is your turn to battle." All the trainers on the arena floor put their Pokemon back into their balls with many, many red flashes, and then went through the door at the end that had just slid open. Inside was a large Plaza where they could do things to get their minds distracted for the next few hours they were in there, and on the front wall there was a giant tournament styled tree listing every match and battle, and the first pair was called out and Retribution watched from the far corner, away from everyone else, as the people were called out, battled, and then one of them went to the stands with losses, and the winners came back into the large Lobby.
Retribution eventually got bored of hearing the constant booming and then Ash was called, and another kid with blond hair and brown eyes. Retribution sat up and watched the screen as Ash and the kid shook hands and went to their spots.
Thanks for reading and I'll have another chapter out soon.
