Grey stood in front of them, a board behind him showing several women's mugshots. "A new gang has developed, and the leaders are women who reside in our local penitentiary. We are going to send Officer Chen undercover to the prison so she can get close to the heavy hitters and allow us to learn more about the organization and how to stop them."

Tim felt himself blanche, darting a look at Lucy, who was staring at Grey, her face a mixture of pride and apprehension. Grey continued, "Bradford, you'll be playing her boyfriend on the outside. You'll visit once a week to exchange information. Any questions?" Tim wanted to ask a million questions like would Lucy be safe? Was she ready? Was it a good idea for him to be playing her boyfriend again? But he decided it was better to keep them all to himself.

Grey wrapped the meeting up and then gestured for Tim, Nyla, and Lucy to join him in his office. Nyla went over more of the background of the gang and explained that they had arranged for Lucy to get into a cell block where all the leaders were housed. "You will be going under cover as Laney Cannes, a mid-level drug dealer and heavy for a gang in Texas. Tim will be Sammy Kline, your long-time boyfriend. He will visit you every week where you will catch him up on what you've learned. You will also exchange letters to keep up the ruse as well as to let us know that you are doing okay."

"How...what about...I think..." Tim finally gave up and trailed off. He wanted to ask a million questions about what this would mean for him and Lucy and how they would be sure to keep her safe, but every time he started a question, he got nervous it would reveal to everyone how much he cared about her. He had known he had romantic feelings for her for years but had managed to keep them under wraps until they had gone undercover as Jake and Sava. After he kissed her, he could barely even pretend he wasn't in love with her. And since she had come back from UC training and they were both single, part of him had been hoping something would happen between the two of them.

The other three people in the room stared at him as they waited for him to finish. When it was clear he wasn't going to manage to get out an actual question, Lucy asked, "When am I going in?"

"Tomorrow," Grey answered, "you'll spend today going over your backstory with Nyla and we will get you on a prison transport bus in the morning." Lucy and Nyla headed off to a conference room, leaving Tim and Grey in the room. "Problem, Bradford?" Grey asked dryly.

Tim turned from the door where he had been watching Lucy's retreating back. "What? No Sir, of course now."

Grey raised an eyebrow and looked doubtful. "This isn't a problem for you, is it? Playing Lucy's boyfriend? You guys did a good job in Vegas."

Almost too good, Tim thought to himself. "No, no problem at all. What do you need me to do?"

"You'll attend visiting day every Tuesday. We've arranged with the prison that you will be placed at a somewhat secluded table which should allow Chen to catch you up on everything she had learned. You will also write letters to each other every day or two. This will help back up your cover story as a couple and also let us know that Chen is doing okay."

"Sounds good, sir."

"Dismissed."

Tim walked back to his desk, deep in thought. I can do this. No one knows I'm in love with her and nothings going to change. Like she said last time, it's just pretend.
