*Kalpana Pov*

"Congratulations!" I heard Kalpana's voice making me frown before glancing up.

"You already congratulated me yesterday as he finally started walking, right?" I asked her frowning.

I still can't believe that he finally took his first step day before yesterday night. Still with the shock, I managed to call Jhanvi over so that she can watch it too.

Then again yesterday he squirmed in my arms, making me put him down, and then eagerly took steps towards the baby care center on his wobbly legs.

"That was amazing, but even more amazing is that you got promotion. Mr.Girish told me today morning when I came to inform you. He will be here soon to give you details." She explained grinning.

"Today lunch is on you as a party which you need not worry about." She added, smiling at me and everyone started walking near to me to congratulate.

Promotion? For me? But how? I thought with dumbstruck expression and shook hands with who ever walked near me to congratulate.

The same questions I repeated openly with the manager not being able to just pass them off.

"When will you stop questioning all these? You are the first one who is doubting everything. The company believes in the development of employees and it will turn help the company only. If you don't want this then you can suit yourself as clerk forever. Our duty is to provide an opportunity and accepting is in your hands." He replied in such a serious tone that I sat still.

"I am so sorry, Sir! It will never happen again." I apologized frankly to which he nodded stiffly and walked away.

And that's how it started me not questioning any of my doubt anymore while accepting whatever opportunity they threw at me.

*After four years*

"He will be fine!" I said, assuring Jhanvi but she just stood near the school gate.

"It killed me of his school being half day and actually shifted my shift to morning so that I will not miss him. But now what will do for a whole day?" she asked brushing her tears away.

"He will come home in the evening." I replied sighing.

"But... but he was crying." She mumbled and I nodded consoling her.

"Why are you not sad? It is Sudhir's first day of proper school." She asked after a few minutes.

"He will be fine! He is very excited that he didn't even wanted to sleep and come to school at the night only." I explained to which she nodded and reluctantly turned so that we can leave.

"What? Are you serious?" Pallavi asked laughing.

"Yeah! Seeing his excitement I had to push my worry aside." I replied smiling.

"Your kid was always fun and I really miss him. I wish he can always stay in baby center." Pallavi said whining and I laughed not able to bear it.

"I will let him know. He likes you too." I assured her.

"So, what are your plans for this weekend?" she asked smiling.

"I am thinking about doing extra work." I replied and she immediately frowned.

"What for? I mean you are in very good position in the company and everyone is praising you too. Just a year back you bagged this promotion, right?" she asked and I sighed pushing down my feelings about that.

"No! Actually, now everything is fine, but soon Sudhir will need many things. I want to give him as much as I can and I can see Jhanvi struggling a little. I want to help her too." I replied and she nodded slowly.

"So, I am thinking of helping with the baby care center. I am missing Sudhir's being a little baby too." I added.

"You can always get married and have another baby too." She mumbled and I immediately frowned at her.

"I don't have any plans for it and I am not sure that will happen any time soon." I said and she frowned back at me.

"Why are you thinking like that?" She asked and I sighed.

"Well, I can see whoever have too much interest in me leaving this branch. So, from where will I get even near to the thought of marrying?" I asked and she chuckled covering her mouth.

"But it's not like only women or only committed men are around you. There are many single men who are quite charming and respectable and I am sure they will make wonderful husbands." She replied and I nodded.

"Yeah! They are really great gentlemen and seems like all the good men of whole India are surrounding me." I said chuckling.

"It is really a good thing. Sudhir needs someone who can take care of him with good personality and the one who takes the responsibility with seriousness." She said in a serious tone.

"Okay!" I said awkwardly.

"What I am saying is true. All the guys here are good and just select someone, but think about Sudhir too. I am sure you will have a happy life and many more babies." She literally preached me.

"Pallavi! When will you start your work?" Mr.Girish walked onto the floor literally saving me.

"Sorry!" she mumbled and walked away to reach down the floor.

I can't understand why did she get just a few promotions while I am actually in this position. However, I know it is better for me to not question it.

"I have to discuss something." He said sitting on the chair before my table.

"Okay!" I mumbled preparing for whatever he wishes to say.

"We are selecting a few employees and thinking to give them training. You are developing too well. So, are you fine with this?" he asked and I frowned at him.

"Why are you asking me, sir? Every time you just give orders to go for training but now you are asking me." I asked and he chuckled at my question.

"Because this is going to be tough, but the opportunity is great. You think and let me know." He replied, standing up and I stared at him.

"I am ready!" I mumbled and he nodded, smiling before walking away while I nodded to myself thinking it is best to grab as many opportunities as possible when it is still lucky.

i know it is small but was really busy... will try to give a big chap next and.... the famous boss is going to be there...

i know it took a long leap but it will take another leap similar to this...

i am pleased with the comments and i hope your ideas comes out more... I want to kind of do something diff and hoping it will work...
