He was in a black suit, white shirt and black bow tie, and was turning away from Taeil, smiling - and made direct eye contact with me, making my heart flip as a smile formed on my own face.

He waved at me, beckoning me over to him, and I grinned, making my way towards him.

He wrapped his arms around me as soon as I got close enough.

'You look amazing.' He whispered, pulling me closer to him and making me blush.

'Ya, not now, the cameras are rolling...' I said, acting shy and hitting his chest softly. Immediately after saying that, I heard Taeyong's laugh nearby, and saw him standing next to Claire in a hoodie, but with a checked suit over his hoodie.

'That's what Jaehyun said to me when we were on NCT Life.' He said, and I laughed.

'Yeah I know.' I laughed uncontrollably. 'That's why I said it.'

I noticed Claire shaking her head at me, which did nothing except make me laugh even more. Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed Jaehyun staring at me, and I glanced at him.

'Hm?' I smiled questioningly. 'You okay?'

His mouth widened to a smile. 'Yeah... you just reminded me of our random memories together as kids.'

I smiled and turned to face him. 'Oh yeah? Like what?'

'You know... like that time I first saw you... I felt something I had never felt before then, and I didn't know what it was then...' He said, chuckled and looked down. 'And today, it's been exactly 18 years since that day.'

I felt my eyes widen.

'You...you still remember?' My voice was a whisper now, and despite the loud music in the background, he seemed to understand what I said.

'Happy Birthday Sook.' He smiled at me, gently pressing something into the palm of my hand. I gaped at him in pure amazement; how did he still remember?? It had been so long!

He chuckled and ran his hand through his hair. 'Check what it is!'

I gulped and looked at my closed fist, then hesitantly opened it.

A heart shaped pendant was in the palm of my hand; the type you open and there are picture frames inside.

'Open it.' Jaehyun urged, and I opened it to reveal two sides; one was empty, and the other had a picture of two kids hugging each other and beaming at the camera; me and Jaehyun.

I looked up at him, completely shocked at this point.

'Do you remember when that was?' He asked me, grinning. I looked down at the photo once again, focusing on every detail to summon the lost memory; the daisy chains on our wrists, the blue sky behind us, the-

Wait.

'I remember...' I mumbled softly, looking up at him, smiling. 'The promise we made to each other that we'd be there for one another forever always.'

He smiled at me, and leaned in, and I closed my eyes and wrapped my arms around his neck as his lips touched mine.

'I love you so much.' He whispered in between, making me smile.

'I love you too...' I mumbled back.

'Ahem.' We heard someone cough, and looking in the direction of the sound, I saw Taeyong standing on the raised platform.

'So, um... I want to make an announcement.'
