Marshple--Replace My Replacement
After they finally talked it out, Marshmallow was still uncertain, but at least they were on speaking terms again. Apple couldn't have been happier. Well, actually, she could have been. During the clingy-best-friend part of their friendship, Apple had found out quite a bit about her friend. What she liked. What made her happy. What made her blush. All of that.
But enough about that. Apple and Marshmallow were drawing. Apple still couldn't spell anything correctly, and Marshmallow was drawing Bow. Apple sighed. She honestly wished Marshmallow hadn't replaced her with Bow. It hurt. A lot. You see, Apple had a huge crush on Marshmallow. But she liked Bow, at least that's what Apple thought.
Marshmallow sighed, reminiscing upon Bow and all the good times they'd had. Now Bow was dead, and would never be recovered. Stupid MePhone, Marshmallow thought bitterly. She then glanced over at Apple. The girl's short, red hair framed her face perfectly, even if it was kind of messy. Green eyes stared, a curious shimmer deep within them. Pale skin, pale pink li-was someone calling out to her?
"Marshmallow! What's wrong?" Apple asked, alarm in her voice. Marshmallow quickly shook her head, refusing to let her imagination wander like that again. "Nothing...just...thinking a bit. That's all!" She exclaimed. Apple's expression fell, and she looked away. Marshmallow tilted her head. "Apple?"
"Marshmallow...did you...replace me?" the words poured out from Apple's mouth before she could rethink her words. Marshmallow froze in shock. Is that really what Apple thought? "You know...she and I are just friends, right?" Marshmallow asked quietly, as though Bow might be nearby.
"Besides, she's just my friend. I have a crush on someone else anyways." She said. Apple's heart shattered. Marshmallow already liked someone. Even if it wasn't Bow, it still hurt. She needed to stop being so clueless. Maybe then someone would actually like her. Maybe...
"Oh, so who's the lucky person?" Apple asked, almost afraid to hear the answer. Marshmallow's face went even redder than Apple's hair. She stuttered, trying to form a coherent sentence. Apple watched, slight amusement on her face. Marshmallow looked adorable like this. However, her amusement turned to shock as Marshmallow suddenly kissed her.
Apple froze. This couldn't be real. No way. Her crush, the girl she had loved for so long...was kissing her. She slowly kissed back. Marshmallow pulled away, needing to breathe. "You were always the one." Marshmallow whispered. Apple grinned like a hopeless idiot. Which she was.
The two leaned against each other, staring at the sunset.
"I love you."
"I love you too."
"I'd never replace you, you know that right? No one could replace you, even if I wanted to replace you, I could never."
"Thank you, Marsh."
