Chapter 70

Your head swam as you tried desperately to fight through the drugs and the encroaching blackness. You struggled to try to get back to your feet. You had to get to Loki; had to help him. You were the only one who could stop the enraged wolf before he ruined all of your work gaining goodwill for the wolves.

Though this was clearly a case of self-defense.

For both of you.

Tony's lawyers and press people could handle the details.

You had to make sure Loki didn't kill any innocents, or turn them, and that you didn't lose the battle. Not losing the battle was definitely the more important priority here.

Green magic sparked around the jet black wolf in his anger. No, not anger. Anger wasn't a strong enough description for the emotion the alpha was exuding. No, his anger had progressed to rage.

Trust my rage

The words seemed to echo through the battlefield in the eerie moment of silence. There was a standstill for a single moment, an instant of battle.

The moment was broken by the wolf's howl as Loki charged into battle. You refocused your attention on struggling to your feet. Thor laid Frigga down beside you. "Watch over her," he told you before he swung Mjolnir and burst into the fray. You looked over at the unconscious queen, wondering what they could have given her to knock out an Asgardian goddess. Probably the same shit they gave you, which is why you couldn't stand.

Even your fast metabolism was doing nothing and the darkness was encroaching despite your fighting against it. You could only hold out so long.

You caught sight of Loki fighting the men with magic and flying daggers, careful not to bite and turn them.

"Shit! The wolves. Shoot them with silver!" one of the agents yelled. You yelped when a silver bullet hit you and fell into a sea of darkness. The silver had been one too many things for your system to handle.

Your last coherent thought was protecting Frigga and you collapsed half-laying on her.

"LET ME GO YOU PUNY PATHETIC MORTALS!" You came to thanks to the lovely sounds of Thor's yelling. This wasn't exactly an abnormal occurrence, but something felt different. "IF YOU TOUCH ONE HAIR ON MY MOTHER'S HEAD, I WILL LAY WASTE TO EVERY LAST ONE OF YOU!" Thor continued his tirade. It was comforting to know that he was there an alright, though obviously out of commission to not be doing anything other than yelling. There wasn't much that could contain Thor, or so you'd thought.

Thor's words finally registered and caught your attention. Finally, the memories from before you passed out came back to you. You remembered dinner, remembered the battle, remembered Frigga in danger, remembered Loki's rage and his forced shift. Somehow your team had lost the fight. You'd blacked out before the end of the battle, but you couldn't believe that Thor and Loki had lost the fight. They were gods, after all. Though after the silver bullets came out, you and Loki would have been easy to take down, then it would've just been Thor alone. One man, even a god, couldn't fight against all odds. You shook your head to clear it. That didn't matter now. You needed to find out where you were and get the hell out of here.

You sat up and realized first that you were naked. Then that you were human. That was new. They must have given you something to force you to turn back. You'd heard rumors of such drugs that could force a werewolf to change back, but you'd never seen it actually used. They'd also had to have taken your bracelet from Loki or else you'd be clothed at least. He finally had gotten the spell working on your bracelet.

Which meant there was likely an equally naked Loki somewhere in this place. If you were human again, so would he be.

He would hate that, but at least he could magic himself some new clothes, if he got his head on straight to think past the angry alpha. Therein lay the problem. The alpha was in control and the alpha was pissed that his mama was in danger. Or hurt. The alphas would be more pissed if his beloved mama was truly hurt.

So you needed to get out of here, which meant taking in your surroundings and coming up with a plan. You looked around and found that you were in a cell of a room, bare walls made of cement, metal bars, bed bolted to the wall. It felt like you were underground. Your wounds had healed, so you had been out for awhile, it was probably morning. There was nothing to help you in here, nor had they left you clothes.

You stood and ripped the sheet off of the bed, fashioning it into a dress to cover yourself before you moved to the cell door. There was no one in sight, though you could hear Thor yelling down the hall. His words made your blood turn to ice.

"LOKI! THAT IS MOTHER, YOU CANNOT BITE HER. WHAT DID YOU DO TO HIM? LOKI, BROTHER, STOP THIS!"
