Chapter Ten

Ari's PoV

"Hey, Gab. Where did you get this knife?"

"Annie, give that back right now."

"Oh come on! It's super cool! Plus, I was planning on giving sleeping beauty there a hair cut."

"I really don't think she would like it if someone gave her a hair cut."

"Nelson, you're supposed to be on my side!"

Three unfamiliar voices kept bickering above me, and I had no doubt who they were talking about. Before I killed them slowly and torturously, however, I wanted to know one thing. How the hell did I end up somewhere with three strangers arguing over whether they wanted to give me a haircut? Then I remembered what happened yesterday. I remembered how I some how summond a bunch of zombies, escaped my house, and then summoned more zombies to kill a bunch of monsters in order to save myself and two other strangers in the middle of a forest. Just thinking about it gave me a headache. Since when was I helpful? Also, the strangers only accounted for two out of the three voices. Who the hell was the third person?

"Gab, I really want to know where you got the knife! Please tell me?" The girly voice that wanted to cut my hair exclaimed.

I heard a sigh, and then a voice that was only a tad bit deeper than the girly one said, "It just appeared last night. I actually wanted to talk to you about that later when the other girl wakes up, so I didn't have to repeat myself a thousand times."

"Sounds reasonable. Now, Annie, please give Gab the knife!" An even deeper voice said. This voice was still too high to have been a male's voice, but it was definitely deeper than the others. It could have been mistaken for a small boy's voice if it weren't for the fact that it sounded more mature.

The girly voice, I'm guessing Annie's, sighed and said, "Fine. You're such a party pooper, Nelson."

"Thank you, Annie," Gab's voice said. "I'm starting to get worried though. Should we try to wake her up? She's been sleeping for almost twelve hours now."

"We could try," Annie said skeptically. "Personally, I leave that to you two. She's able to summon the undead, and while that's really cool and stuff, I don't know if she's the type of person who would kill someone if they tried to wake her up."

You bet I am.

"Annie, you were just thinking about giving her a hair cut with a knife! If she were that kind of person, she would kill you when she woke up!" I'm guessing that was Nelson.

"Yeah, but if I'm already a few feet away from her when she woke up, then I have a better chance at running and surviving," Annie argued.

Excuse me? Who the hell do you think you are? What gave you the idea that you could just walk up to me and cut my hair?

I couldn't stand it anymore. I opened my eyes and sat up groggily, hissing at the sunlight that shone down through the trees.

"She's awake!" The person who's gender I wasn't able to identify earlier exclaimed.

I rolled my eyes. "Yes I suppose I am. What gave it away? Was it the fact that my eyes opened? Or perhaps it was when I sat up? Anyway, where the bloody hell are we, and no one has the right to give me a haircut with a knife!"

"Are you British?" The girl I first saw yesterday asked. She had the girly voice that wanted to cut my hair. That must be Annie.

"No. I'm not. I just like their style of cursing. Got a problem with that?" I said irritatedly.

"Nope," Annie said, popping the p. That girl was way too cheerful.

"Great. Now that we've got that sorted, who are you?"

"My name is Gab," said the one who's gender I didn't know. They gave me a calculating stare before giving a tiny shrug and continuing. "My pronouns are ze, em, zeir."

"My name is Annie," the girl said before I could say anything. "My pronouns are she, her, hers."

"My name is Nelson," the only person I didn't recognize from yesterday spoke softly. "My pronouns are he, him, his."

He was tanned like Annie and really thin. He had brown eyes behind a crooked pair of glasses. I also noticed that he seemed to be having trouble breathing. It was as if he were in pain.

I couldn't worry about that right now though. The most pressing matter was whether I was still going to kill them or not. "My name is Ari, and my pronouns are she, her, hers."

"Great! Hey, Ari? Can I cut your hair now?" Annie stepped closer to me with a mischievous smile and a glint in her eyes. She held up a small bronze knife.

"Annie! How the hell did you grab that from my pocket without me noticing?" Gab yelled.

"I'm talented that way," Annie said with a shrug.

I was just about done with this shit. I wanted to be left alone, so I could think. I didn't know what happened to my family. I was in the middle of no where and nothing. My emotions are on the brink of running wild again. When that happens, I start the zombie apocalypse, and these three were really starting to annoy me.

"Hey, Ari. What's wrong?" Annie asked with genuine sincerity in her voice.

I don't know why exactly, but I snapped. I lunged at her before I had time to think what the fuck am I doing? I heard shouting from all around me, and a pair of hands tried to drag me back which, of course, only fueled my rampaging emotions even more. I threw the hands off of me, and a pair of vines wrapped around my torso and dragged me backward toward a tree.

At this point, I was beyond reason. All I wanted was five minutes to myself. Why the hell were they trying to restrain me? This is only pissing me off more! I heard a shriek and someone yelled, "Ari, you need to calm down, or you are going to pass out again!" I looked down and saw a patch of dead grass around me and it was slowly spreading outward. I felt the vines weaken their hold on me, and I looked at them to see that they were going as gray and brittle as the grass.

I took a few calming breaths with my eyes shut tight. When I opened them again, the vines were gone, but the patch of dead grass returned to normal. I looked up at the others and saw shocked looks on pale faces.

"I'm sorry," I mumbled. "I just got overwhelmed. Also, do not try to restrain me. That will only make matters worse." I finished pointedly.

Gab only nodded. It looked like ze was about to say something else when we were rudely interrupted by a six armed giant that bounded into the scene.

Good morning guys! I hope you enjoyed this chapter, and no they aren't going to be killed off that quickly. Ari wouldn't have really killed them. Well, Annie maybe, but.... I'm kidding. Have a great day!
