Chapter Sixty-Three

Nico's PoV

The flash of silver light blinded me; then suddenly, it was gone. All of the monsters had turned to dust, and I had a clear path to get to Will. I was about to run to him, but I held myself back. This could be some kind of trick. I spun around to see what exactly caused the light, and every other thought I may have had before vanished from my mind. The form of a little girl flickered in and out of focus with the form of someone else. Someone I knew very well.

"Nico," she whispered.

It was her voice. It was really her.

"B-Bianca?"

Not even Tartarus himself could have stopped me. I dropped my sword and sprinted at her. She held out her arms, and I collapsed into her, tears streaming down my face. "Il mio fratellino! Mi sei mancato tanto!" (My little brother! I missed you so much!)

"Non tanto quanto ti ho perso," I whispered back. (Not as much as I have missed you.)

"But... She's not... How is she Bianca?" I heard Ari splutter in confusion.

Bianca gently pulled away from me. She wiped my eyes and gave me a soft smile. "Non piangere, mio soldatino," she whispered before standing up to face Ari. (Do not cry, my toy soldier. (Honestly I've only heard the song Soldatino once, and I had to translate what Soldatino meant. I figured it meant soldier, but I had to make sure. Google translate told me it was toy soldier so *shrugs* I don't know.)) "Apparently the headaches I've been having were because they were the memories of my past two lives trying to break into my brain. In my first life, I was Bianca Di Angelo. It's a long story that unfortunately we don't really have the time for right now."

"Wait... So... You're my sister?" Ari looked like she was still in shock. "But, you were Lizzy-"

"Lizzy Taxiarchai was the name Dad gave me when he found me in this life. Like I said, it's a long story. I'll tell you later, but I remember that when we first met, you asked what my last name meant. My original last name, Di Angelo, means 'of angel' in Italian. My current last name is Greek for 'archangel'. Dad gave me the name as a hint of who I reminded him of because I was his daughter in a past life."

"I don't want to interrupt the moment, but 'Dad' is also right here."

Dad's voice brought me back to reality. We were still in Tartarus, Tartarus himself was rapidly getting over his shock, Will was still unconscious, and we still had a gaping hole in the universe that was caused by the destruction of the Doors of Death.

As if on cue, Tartarus stepped forward and let out a derisive laugh. "So this is the little Bianca I've heard so much about. I would have thought you were much older and stronger the way Nico talks and thinks about you."

He took a step toward her, but I leapt in front of him. "Don't you dare touch her!" I snarled.

"How are you going to stop me? You don't even have your sword." He said with a snort.

I couldn't believe how much of an idiot I was. In my rush to get to Bianca, I left myself undefended in front of the god of the pit of eternal damnation. Today was really not my day.

Then a miracle happened.

"Get away from my children!" Dad stepped in front of me with such an intense glare that I didn't think was possible from him. He usually saved his best glares for me.

"Even you aren't strong enough to defeat me, Hades," Tartarus said, sounding bored.

"Maybe so, but he will have help." Bob and Damasan stepped in on either side of Dad.

"Figure out a way to close the rift. Then get out of here. All of you." Dad said. Then something like a nuclear bomb went off as the four of them jumped into a frenzy. I grabbed Bianca's hand who in turn grabbed Ari's arm, and I sprinted over to Will, picking my sword up on my way.

Gab and Annie had dragged Nelson next to Will, and the other ghosts that came with Bianca and Ari gathered around us. Ari passed me two squares of ambrosia, and I shoved one down Will's throat and the other one down Nelson's. Nelson sat up almost immediately, but it took Will a little longer since this was the second time he had been knocked out in less than an hour. As Gab, Annie, and Ari helped Nelson to his feet, I grabbed Will and pulled him up. Will slumped against me for a moment before he regained his balance and was able to stand on his own.

"When did you get here? Who are they?" Nelson asked Ari while he gestured quietly to the ghosts and Bianca.

I ignored their conversation and pulled Will into a hug. Then I slapped him. "You idiot! What were you thinking? You could have died! Why would you run off like that?"

"I'm sorry! I just had to try and fix this before you did something stupid!" Will said.

"Oh, like what you did by trying to jump into the void? What the fuck, Will?" I yelled.

"I-"

I shut him up by pulling him into a deep and passionate kiss. Then we pulled apart, gasping for air.

"Well, Nico. It looks like you've met someone." Bianca said, barely concealing the laughter in her voice.

I felt my face heat up as I turned to face her. "Um... Yes. Yes I did. His name is Will. Will, this is Bianca."

Will's face was priceless. "But... You're... How?"

Bianca smiled at him. "I'll tell you all the story if you all come visit me later. I promise."

I looked up at her. The burst of joy I had by seeing her alive popped. I should have felt it before. No, it can't... I won't let it happen.

Ignoring the increasing feeling of dread, I said, "Bianca, what do you mean by if we come and visit? You're coming home with us."

Tears welled up in her eyes. "No, mio soldatino. I'm not."

You are all going to hate me especially by next chapter. I'm sorry but not really sorry about it. 😂 Oh, I'm going to die. Anyway, I hope you liked this chapter! I sure loved writing Nico and Bianca's reunion. Have a good day or night!
