Chapter Six

Ari's PoV

"Ari for the last time, stop being a brat! You are going to marry Kadar, and that's final!" My step dad screamed at me.

I was standing in the crowded living room with my step dad, mom, cousin, and his father staring at me angrily. I tried to take a few calming breaths and keep from shaking. I was already anxious and angry enough, but being around all of these people, especially since they all hated me, was not helping.

"I'm not being a brat. I'm just trying to live my own damn life the way I want to live it, and you all are not listening to me because all you guys care about is money! Therefore, it would be you all who are being the brats here. Not me." I replied cooly.

I felt Kadar's grip on my arm tighten painfully, and it took a lot of effort not to show any pain. "I don't understand you, Ari. I really don't. Why is it that you can't accept your role in the family? Your place is to keep the family together and help it become successful. You are necessary to keep the family line going strong, and for that to happen you have to marry me. Why can't you just accept that?"

I stared at him with a mixture of anger and hatred. "How dare you tell me what my place is in the family. It's my life, not yours. You can't just tell me what to do! Honestly, I do want the family line to keep going. I really do, but if I'm going to be a part of it, I want to marry someone I actually love. Sorry to be blunt here, oh wait a minute, I'm not sorry, but I don't even like you, Kadar. You have no respect for me, or anyone else for that matter. Also, you're way too old for me, so go marry some other cousin if you want. You are not marrying me!" He loosened his grip slightly at my bluntness out of shock, and I took the opportunity to pull my arm out of his grasp, shove my way past my parents, and run up the stairs and into my room, slamming the door shut behind me.

I had my back to the door as I slid down it slowly until I was sitting on the floor. Breathe, I told myself. I had to calm down. I've never felt this much anger before, and it was starting to freak me out. I could practically feel waves of darkness coming from me, and I knew that if I couldn't get my emotions under control like usual, I was going to explode. I didn't know what that was going to look like, and I didn't want to find out.

Unfortunately, Kadar, his father, and my step dad didn't feel the same way because they started banging on the door and ordering me to let them in. Why can't they understand I need some privacy, so I can calm down! Was it really that hard to figure out?

After about five minutes of them screaming, cursing, and pounding on my door, I couldn't take it anymore. I got up and threw open the door, catching them by surprise. They stumbled a few steps before they straightened themselves out, but before they could start yelling again, I screamed. I don't exactly know what I was saying if I was saying anything at all. All I remember was the screaming. I just exploded, and all of my feelings came pouring out of me. I could literally feel waves of my darkest emotions flowing out of me and crashing into the three men that stood in the doorway. I didn't stop screaming until I saw them.

Skeletons. There were so many. Skeletons and zombies were crawling their way out of the floor of my room, and they started wrestling with the invaders of my privacy. I stood in shock and horror as more of the undead kept climbing their way into my bedroom. As I watched my cousin and our fathers screaming in terror, I knew immediately I had caused this, but I didn't know what to do to stop it. I took a step back in shock and fear and found myself in the shadow of my dresser. I took another step back, and suddenly, I wasn't in my room anymore. I was in a forest that didn't look like it was anywhere near my house.

I turned around slowly to look at my surroundings, wondering how I had gotten there, when I saw a shorter girl, maybe around 5'4 with long black hair and tanned skin staring at me in shock. She had brown eyes that were wide with confusion and a little fear. She looked hispanic maybe? Yeah, definitely hispanic. Before I could say anything to her, I noticed her eyes flicker from me to something behind me, and she took a step back in fear. I turned around and saw another girl, or was it a boy, that was running toward us with two tall one-eyed monsters and a bloodhound the size if a garbage truck following close behind.

The new person was about 5'5 with a short pixie cut style hair that was dark brown and dark brown eyes. The person was paler than the hispanic girl behind me, but they were still tanned. They looked hispanic too, but they were possibly from a different Spanish country than the girl behind me. The person stopped suddenly, breathing hard with their eyes wide with fear. Their clothes were... Wait, why were they wet? I mean, they weren't just wet. They were completely soaked as if the person decided they were going to take a dive in a pool fully clothed. I would have to ask them later. For now, I shoved the person behind me, and I concentrated on the feeling I had just moments before when the skeletons and zombies started attacking my house. The dead erupted from the earth, causing the two behind me to shriek in surprise and fear, and the skeletons attacked the monsters until they were piles of dust on the ground.

I turned around and opened my mouth to say something, but my adrenaline rush faded and I lost consciousness.

It took forever, but now the story is finally starting to go somewhere! Please comment what you thought about this chapter, and I hope you guys have a great day!
