Breaking a heart, won't mend one.

"Where are you going?" She asks, the blanket clutched tightly against her chest. He ignores her and concentrates on tying his shoe laces.
The room smells faintly of chocolate and jasmine, the combination making him feel a bit sick.
"I am leaving." He states it like it is the most obvious thing is the world.
And it is since he had already informed her of his intentions.
Last night is a blur but he remembers flirting with her at the party.
'Why don't we go back to my place? My parents aren't home." Her voice is filled with promises as they lean against his car.
He smirks. "I don't see any problem with that. But you should know," Despite all the drinks, his eyes are clear as he gazes into hers, "That when the morning comes, I will be gone."
"I think I'll take the risk." She smirks and leans in for another kiss.
"Leaving?"
Of course, she, like majority of the girls he sleeps with, thinks that the one night stand will change him.
That he will turn into her Prince Charming.
"I did warn you last night." He is getting tired of the conversation.
He tightens his laces and straightens up, glancing at the girl.
She is about his age, her fiery red hair forming a halo around her face. Her dark blue eyes stares at him in confusion. His eyes start to trail down her body but he stops himself.
With the way she is talking, he is sure that that option is no longer open for him.
"But I thought-" She begins but he already starts to shake his head.
He reflects that it is easier for him to leave them behind in their room rather than to order them to get out when they occupy his.
"I made myself very clear last night. You got into this with your own wish." He watches her face crumble as she swallows.
Sighing, he turns to leave.
"What you are doing is wrong, you know." He almost misses it but in the silence of the room it is like a crack of a whip.
He turns to stare at her.
Her eyes are still watery but there is a weird expression on her face that unnerves him.
"One day, you will pay for all the hearts you broke."
"I never asked you to give me your heart. You should have kept it to yourself." He replies, keeping his face blank and his tone bland.
"We don't get to choose who we give our heart to, Aiden."
The silence lasts a few moments.
Aiden narrows his eyes before turning on his heels and leaving the room. The door snaps shut behind him and he is thankful that her parents aren't home.
Deciding to have a coffee before returning home, he starts the car.
With one last glance towards her house, he races down the road, leaving behind a bitter girl who gave up her virginity in hopes of love.
"Lucy? Can you come over?" She speaks into her phone, staring at the door he had exited through not too long ago with something akin to sadness.
"I hope you enjoy getting your heart broken, Mr. Heartbreaker."
