Chapter 7
Adam hummed quietly to himself as he maneuvered the plow along the ground behind the mare. He would love for him and Tim to own a place like this someday and just settle down. To have a garden and chickens. Neighbors like Sam and Lilly. He frowns slightly at the thought of that dream never becoming a reality.
He stops the mare for a second and reaches into his back pocket and pulls out a bandana to wipe the sweat from his face. He removes his cowboy hat and fans himself with it as he glances around at the others. His heart stops.
Nate had gone to the well and had brought back a bucket of nice cold water. Tim drank some from a dipper before pouring the rest on his head to help cool himself off.
There was nothing sexier than his outlaw wet. Adam's jaw drops at the sight and his manhood begins to spring to life.

What he wouldn't give to run across this garden, grab Tim and f*ck him senseless. But he figured that Sam and Nate wouldn't find it too amusing. As he tries his best to clear his thoughts, he becomes aware of his outlaw staring at him. Was that lust in his brown eyes? Could he see the blonde's erection? Was Tim wanting to run across the garden and f*ck him senseless?
"Adam? Adam?" Nates voice pulls Adam from his thoughts. "You can f*ck each other later but right now would you like a drink of water?"
Adam let's go of a shaky breath as he places his hat back on his head.
"I hate you, Nate." Adam chuckles as he takes the dipper from the scout. "You sure know how to screw up a d*mn good daydream."
"Well, I'm pretty sure that Tim is having the same daydream. I thought he was going to pass out when you took your shirt off." Nate laughs. "BUT, we are supposed to be working, remember?"
"Yeah, yeah, I know." Adam frowns as he turns back to the plow.
Nate sets down the water bucket and picks up his hoe and gets back to work.
"You know you're distracting our plowboy, right?" Nate says quietly so Sam couldn't hear.
"Really? What am I doing?" Tim asks with a smirk on his lips.
"Existing." Nate answers with a chuckle.

A few hours later, the garden was actually beginning to look like a garden again. It would have never happened if Sam hadn't had the extra help.
Chance and Austin had returned with a good mess of fish and began cleaning them.
"Well, just in time." Sam smiles as he sees the wagon coming up the path.
"Did you think we got lost?" Lilly laughs as she climbs down from the wagon. "Or were y'all beginning to get hungry?" She walks over and kisses her husband's cheek.
"We're ready to start planting those seeds you picked up." Sam says as he walks toward the wagon. "But now that you mentioned food...."
"I can't expect you fellas to work with empty stomachs." Lilly laughs. "How about some sandwiches?"
"Sounds good, mam." Tim smiles at the sweet lady.
"Mercy, you boys have been busy." Lilly says as she looks over the garden. "And looks like we'll be having fish for supper."
"Yep, these boys are hard workers. Maybe we can talk them into hanging around awhile even after all the work is done." Sam says as he drapes his arm around Tim's shoulder.
"Well, from the looks of this shit hole looks like we're going to be here awhile anyways." Tim says with a smirk as he looks around at the old cowboy.
"That's what I'm hoping for, son." Sam laughs as he pats the brunette on the back. "Let's go eat."
After getting some much-needed food in their stomachs, they were ready to get back to the garden. Rob begins to help Lilly with her chores. Washing clothes and hanging them out to dry was first on her list. She also had Rob get the boxes that contained her sons' clothes so they could hang them out on the line to air out. They had been packed away for some time.
After getting all the fish cleaned, Chance and Austin began to take a look at the corral to see what needed to be done to make it more sturdy. The final evaluation? It just needed to be torn down and a new one built.
"Have you boys ever thought about just quitting what you're doing and just settling down before one of you gets killed?" Sam asks as he and Tim work side by side in the garden. "I know you care a lot for these guys and don't want anything to happen to any of them."
"Of course I don't, they're my family. But where's the stopping point? When we get rich? Don't look like that's ever gonna happen." Tim says as he looks at the blisters that were forming on his hands.
"You just have to throw up your hands and say 'I'm done'. That's what I did." Sam says as he leans on his hoe.
"Yeah, but I'm sure you had money to start a new life with. We don't." Tim shrugs.
"Lilly and I didn't have a dime to our name when we came here. We lived in a covered wagon for months. You might say we were squatters. We found this unowned land and thought we'd make use of it until we got ran off." Sam says. "That was before I found out we were sitting on a gold mine."
"Okay? You lost me. What in the hell are you talking about?" Tim asks.
"I'll let you in on my little secret, soon." Sam says with a wink and pats the young outlaw on the back before walking away leaving a very confused Tim behind.
The gang was exhausted by the time Sam said that they would call it a day. They definitely weren't used to this kind of work and every muscle they had ached beyond belief.
Sam couldn't help but laugh at the groans and moans coming from the six young men. He promised them that soaking in the hot stream would work wonders on their aching muscles.
They found it to be true as the six men relaxed in the warm water.
Sam's words were running through Tim's mind as he looked around at the men he called his family. What if one was to get killed? How would he deal with it? He couldn't. What if the one that is killed was Adam? He had fallen in love with the blonde the very minute he had laid eyes on him years ago. They had been by each other's side ever since. There was no way that he could live without him.
"Are you okay? You're awfully quiet." Adam says bringing the outlaw from of his thoughts.
"Yeah, just tired." Tim says as he rubs the back of his neck.
"Too tired?" Adam asks quietly as he bites his bottom lip.
"Have I ever been too tired to make love to you?" Tim whispers with a smile, looking into the blue eyes that he loved so much. "Besides, the image of you with sweat glistening on your body will forever be embedded in my brain."
"I'm glad I made a lasting impression on you." Adam giggles.
"Yep, you definitely did." Tim chuckles as he leans in and kisses his lover softly just as they hear the dinner bell.
Wasting no time, they quickly get dressed in the clothes that Lilly had given them. The sandwiches they had eaten for lunch was long gone. The smell of fish frying was making their mouths water.
~~
As they start to join hands around the table for the blessing, something that Lilly insists on before eating, Sam notices the blisters on Tim's hand.
"You know, Tim, I do have gloves that you can wear." Sam says with a chuckle after the blessing as he begins to serve the fried fish.
"Now's a fine time to tell me." Tim says as he turns his head to glare at the older cowboy. "You weren't wearing any so I figured you didn't have any."
"Ain't nothing gonna hurt these old hands. They're tough as leather." Sam smiles. "I'll get you some gloves out of the shed tomorrow."
"You might need to get me a pair too if you have enough." Adam smiles as he holds up his hand to reveal the blisters.
"You kids." Sam laughs and shakes his head.
~~
"D*mn, that was the best meal I've had in years." Austin says as he falls onto the blanket that was covering the hay in one of the stables.
They each had claimed a spot to call theirs.
"Lilly is one hell of a cook." Chance says as he straightens his blanket.
"You got that right. Rob, maybe you can get her to teach you a thing or two about cooking." Nate laughs.
"I have you know, Mr. Nathan, that she has been showing me how to do a lot of things." Rob replies.
"Rob is our own little housewife." Austin laughs.
"Screw Y'all." Rob says with a pout as he turns over to face the wall.
"Okay, guys. Y'all need to get some rest. We have a long day ahead of us tomorrow." Tim says as he heads to the ladder leading up to the loft.
"I'll be right up. I have to go pee first." Adam says to his boyfriend before heading to the barn door.
Adam wasn't gone but just a few minutes. He was quite surprised to find the others fast asleep already.
"Dang." He whispers to himself as he quietly makes his way to the ladder. He knew his lover was tired but he hoped that he hadn't fallen asleep too.
He locks eyes with the outlaw as he reaches the top of the ladder.
"Well, hel..lo there handsome." Adam says softly as he eyes his lover's nude body.
"Everything come out alright?" Tim asks with a smile.
The blonde nods as he quickly crawls across the loft to his lover's waiting arms.
