When I was in high school I realized that I was not being taught properly, education wise. I knew my high school though online and an academy was only teaching me to prepare and pass tests. The same applies to elementary through middle school. I thought college would be different but the only difference is it also prepares you for a job.

When people say that America has the best universities, I have to laugh. For a school to be the best they need to be able to take any student and make them successful. The universities are meant for research not teaching. In fact, the reason they look so good on paper is because they normally only accept the "best" students. Their definition of best is A students. The professors research and hire teacher aids to teach the courses. 

Then the government sets curriculum for all schools. This in its self is one of the biggest problems. For one the government is based on an idea even more outdated than our education system, the Greeks created democracy. Two the government can't even manage a budget without going into debt.
