Chapter Six
Blaise stared at the mirror until his eyes stung. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't tear his eyes away from the mirror. He couldn't let go of the mirror, his golden fleece connecting him to Skye.
He gazed at the mirror. His chest constricted at the sight of Skye crying, crying. That idiot. No, scratch that, he was more of an idiot, sitting in a cell waiting for someone to save him.
Blaise wanted to reach out to her and comfort her, tell her that everything would be fine. He ran his hands through his hair in frustration. Idiot. Idiot.
That's when he noticed the horses in the background. Of course... Danner. He glared at Lux through the mirror, wishing his intensity could transfer onto the boy. Just then, the mirror blanked out.
Blaise stared at the mirror. It was as if everything the mirror had just shown was just a dream.
Blaise kept staring into the mirror at his distraught expression. His hair was disheveled and his green-blue eyes had long lost their shine.
Suddenly, the image returned, it was different. But that wasn't what shocked Blaise. But the fact that Skye was riding on a horse! Her long blonde hair flew behind her and a smile took over her face. Ha. Skye hasn't lost her shine... he thought and smiled, his first smile since the day he had lost Skye.
But at the same time, the image made him more sad than happy. He was jealous. Jealous that it was Lux who helped her overcome that fear, not him.
