"Mmmhhh..."

"What... the...?"

*Beep* *Beep*

"Peter! Oh thank god you're okay!" I hear someone say.

My eyes were closed but I heard beeping sounds from beside me. It feelt like I was laying on something soft, like a... bed...? I try to open my eyes but the room is too bright, so I try to cover my eyes with my hand but I have no energy to do so. 'What's going on...?' I think to myself.

"Friday, lower the brightness to 30%." I hear a voice say, it kinda sounds like... wait. Oh no... Oh no! Oh no! Oh no! I try opening my eyes again and I see Mr. Stark and Dr. Strange sit on two chairs next to the bed I am lying in.

"Mr. Stark...?!" I say surprised.

"The one and only kid. Now, how are you feeling? You kind of fainted on us." He says and looks a little worried. Dr. Strange also looks worried but seems to stay quite calm.

"Oh... umm... I feel... okay, I guess." I answer him feeling my cheeks get warm. 'I can't believe I fainted infront of them.'

"Well, based on the list of injuries Friday told us about, you are not "Okay"" Mr. Stark says seriously.

"O-oh... I... umm..."

"Mind telling us how you got all of these injuries?" Mr. Stark continued. I stayed silent looking down at my hands while getting some of my messy curls in my face. 'Wait, what time is it?! Oh shit! I was probably out for ages and now... now... I'm...' I panic to myself.

"Umm... Mr. Stark, what... what time is it? And for how long was I out...?" I ask him nervously. He looks down at some sort of smart watch on his wrist.

"The time is currently 6:20PM and you were out for about... 30-40 minutes." He answers which makes me calm down a bit. "You end at 7:30PM, right?" He then asks.

"Oh... umm, y-yeah." I answer.

"Hmm, since you're in no working condition, you'll have to stay in bed." Mr. Stark says firmly, but somehow... soft?

"Wait...? But I have to- I'll get fired otherwise." I stutter out.

"Fired? Peter that's something you don't have to worry about. I looked at the papers you wrote down in the lab while you were out." Mr. Stark starts and I feel relieved at the first sentence, but then gets stressed about the papers. 'He's probably going to tell me that they are wrong and I'm going to an even lower level.' I think to myself, freaking out internally. "And they were both correct. They were actually a test. After Stephen showed me what you did yesterday I got impressed. Me and Bruce had just jinxed an answer (Which was kind of close to the answer you wrote) on that equation. So I wanted to test you and you passed." Mr. Stark says and I probably look like I had seen a ghost because my eyes were big and I my mouth hanged open.

"So you'll be getting a new position as my personal intern!" He finishes. I look  at him surprised. 'Is this real? Or is Parker luck messing with me again? How could I, 'poor, worthless, orphan Peter Parker' even get this opportunity? I mean, I'm just Peter. Worthless Peter, who's not speciall in any way...' Without noticing it, tears has started falling down my cheek.

"Woah kid, you okay?" Dr. Strange asks looking worried.

"What...? O-oh! I'm... I'm sorry! I didn't- I didn't even notice! Thank you Mr. Stark, it's just... I'm just surprised you even chose me, of all people." I say looking down at my hands again.

"Oh that's nonsens kid! You seem to be really smart, especially at such a young age." He says. "So instead of going to that boring office, you'll be going to floor 86, where my lab is and you'll be helping me there with whatever."

"Wait...! my backpack is stil-" I start before getting cut off by Dr. Strange.

"Don't worry Peter, Happy was here and we asked him to go get your backpack. It's right here beside the bed." He says holding up my backpack infront of me. I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding.

We then talked for a bit, and about 45 minutes later I realised I had to go.

"Mr. Stark, I have to get home, otherwise I'll ge- *Ahem* My parents will be... umm... worried." I tell them, catching myself before revealing too much info. If I tell them I'm an orphan they'll pity me and think I'm just some poor orphan that doesn't care about work.

"Oh! How are going to get home? Do you have a ride or something?" Mr. Stark asks.

"I'll just... I'll take the subway, my... umm... my parents are... they're kind of busy." I lie hoping they'll just let me leave.

"There's no way we'll just let you take the subway! Kid, have you seen your injuries?" He says. "How about I drive you? It's already late and we wouldn't want anything to happen, especially now that you're my intern."

"Mr. Stark that really isn't necessary! Please don't waste any energ-" I say but get cut off.

"It's not a question kid. Come one! let's go down to the garage and get you home." He says as he helps me out of the comfy bed. As I stand up I get a little nauseous, then I grab my backpack and follow him reluctantly. we step into the elevator and I give Dr. Strange a little wave, which he returns, so does his cloak, and then the doors close. The ride down to the garage is quiet and I shift my balance back and forth on my feet until we've arrived.

As the doors open, I see a bunch of expensive cars. All parked neatly and I follow Mr. Stark over to a slick black car. He opend the backseat door for me and I get in, then he closed the door and went over to the drivers seat. He looked back at me and asked for my home adress, which I told him and then he drove out of the garage onto the still busy roads of New York. The drive would probably take about 20 minutes, so I tried to get comfy.

I looked out the window, it was already dark but the city was as livid as always and the lights from the city felt kind of 'aesthetic' in a way, you know. Inside the car it was dark but outside it was a variant of colors. Red, blue, green, yellow and as I got more tired it got a bit blurry.

.

"So Pete, tell me a little about yourself. Like, uhhh, I don't know... Your family?" Mr. Stark  says all of  a sudden, around 10 minutes into the drive, snapping me out of my thoughts.

"O-oh. Well, there isn't really... anything to tell..." I start, not knowing what to tell him. 'Should I tell him the truth, about me being an orphan...?'

"My family... They..."

"..."

"... I don't... I don't have any family... left..." I say just above a whisper, but Mr. Stark heard me and stayed quiet for a couple of seconds before speaking again.

"So you're an orphan...? Why didn't you tell us before?" He asks, but he doesn't sound angry, he sounds sort of sincere. It wasn't filled with pity, but more... concern.

"...Yeah, I...I'm an orphan." I say feeling ashamed for lying to them. "I... I didn't tell you... because..."

"..."

"Because you were scared we'd pity you?" He asks.

"... Yeah..." I answer a bit surprised. 'Who knew that Tony Stark, of all people, knew how I felt...'

The rest of the ride is silent, but not the awkward type of silent, just... a calming silence. A couple of minutes later we stopped on a street some meters away from the orphanage because I didn't want him to know I lived in one before I told him I was an orphan.

"Well kid, I guess this is your stop. Don't forget to go straight to floor 86 tomorrow. Okay?" Mr. Stark says looking back at me from the driver seat. I nod and open the door. Just as I'm about to step out Mr. Stark speaks up again.

"Oh yeah, and if your guardians allow you, you can eat dinner with us tomorrow. Stephen wanted me to ask since he wasn't quite fond of the fact that you were on the brink of starvation." Mr. Stark says, looking away a bit. I probably looked really surprised.

"I... umm, I'll ask them, but it would be really nice to have dinner with you all." I say, yawning in the process making him chuckle.

"Alright then Sleepy head, skedaddle home now." He says as I get out of the car giving him a little wave, to which he waves back. Then he drives off and I'm left on the pavement, forcing my feet to start walking towards 'Happy Hill Orphanage'. Stopping outside the door, I check the time on my phone. 7:53PM. I'm not late so they shouldn't have a reason to punish me.

I carefully open the door and see about 20 kids at the table at the far end of the big room, including one kid I haven't seen before. 'We probably got a new kid.' I think to myself and  they're probably having dinner.' I got home late a couple of nights ago and at the moment, I'm not allowed to eat dinner for 2 whole weeks, but I'm used to it. I walk in and quietly close the door behind me, then I walk straight up the stairs to 'my room'. But next to the door to the room I see Mr. Thomas. He spots me and walks over to me with that infamous smile of his that means, 'Something he thinks is good has happend and you are going to hate it.'

"Ahh! Peter! Good to see you! I have some news for you." Mr. Thomas starts, his smile getting wider. "You see, a new child was sent here today and he'll be taking your spot in the room. And since you all can't fit in there, you'll get a new room." He starts walking down the hall until the very end, to his left is an old moldy door, in there was a little closet. He opened the door and told me this would be my new room, then he ordered me go get my stuff from 'my old room' so that the new kid, Jeremiah, could get, quote-on-quote, more space. Like hell, there isn't any space to begin with. But I follow his order and get my stuff, then Mr. Thomas walks up to his floor, smiling like there's no tomorrow.

I step into the room and put my stuff down. I could basically stand in the middle of the room, put out my arms and touch the walls without moving. There was a big window opposite of the door with a small dresser under. 'At least now I could sneak out as Spider-Man much easier.' I could even lock the door, but if you would try to force it open it would fall apart. But no one would try to really force it open except for Mr. and Mrs. Thomas.

I make my 'bed' and lie down, looking up at the ceiling. Then it hits me.

I. Am. Tony. Stark's. Personal. Intern.

I am going to work for Tony F***ing Stark (Sorry Mr. America). Wow. What has happend to Parker's luck? I close my eyes and soon fall asleep.

Tony's P.O.V

After dropping off the kid I start to head back home, thinking about our conversation.

"... I don't... I don't have any family... left..."

How old is he again he again? 15? Yeah, I think Stephen said that. That young and no family members. I mean, I kinda understood why he didn't want to tell us, but still.

.

20 minutes later, I'm at the tower and park the car in the garage. I make my way up to the living room where I see Stephen, Bruce, Nat, Birdbrain (Clint), Steve and Bucky all sitting on the couches watching a movie. I make my way over to Stephen, sitting down next to him, then I rest my head on his shoulder.

"How did it go with dropping off Peter?" Stephen asks me.

"Who's Peter?" Nat asks, looking away from the TV.

"Peter is my new personal intern and dropping him off went alright, though, there's something I have to tell you." I say looking up at Stephen.

"Did something happen? Did he faint again?" Stephen asks, looking a bit worried.

"Faint? Someone fainted? When?" Clint asks, looking interrested in our conversation, I ignored Clint's question.

"No, he didn't faint. Though, he... umm... he told me something." I say and everyone is quiet, waiting for me to finish.

"You know how he said his "Parents would be worried" when he stayed here a bit later than usual?" Stephen nods. "Well, appearantly, that was a lie. He..."

"..."

"... He dosen't have any parents, he's an orphan." I finish. Stephen looks worried and I turn to the others to see their reactions. Steve also looks a bit worried and Bucky is holding his hand. Clint is sitting quietly, look at the ground and Nat looks at me with sincerity.

"How come he didn't tell us?" Stephen asks.

"He didn't want to be pitied, I suppose." I answer him.

We all sit in silence for a cuple minutes, letting the sound from the TV fill the room.

"Are you guys going to confront him or something?" Nat asks.

"I see no reason for it. He earned his spot as an intern here." I answer looking up at the movie on the screen.

"when's the next time he'll come?" Bucky asks, still comforting Steve.

"Well, tomorrow actually. He has his old schedule, so he'll come here after school everyday, except for weekends." I say.

"Could we then meet him sometime?" Clint, who's been abnormally quiet, asks.

"Maybe, depends on how good you behave. I don't want you to infect him with your... 'talents'." I say, trying to lighten the mood a bit. Everyone chuckles a bit and then we go back to watching the movie.

A/N

Here it is!

Secrets spilled!

I actually had another plan for how Peter would meet Tony. Instead of meeting eachother on the next day, he would just meet Stephen again. And then, day 3 of going to the lab, Peter would meet Tony in the lab while he worked. So like this:

Day 1 of going to the lab: Peter gets news he's going to get coffee to a high level, meet Stephen there, solves equation. Tony makes the little test.

Day 2: Peter has to deliver coffee to the same floor again, meets Stephen again, solves the test. Tony is impressed.

Day 3: Same yada, but instead of meeting Stephen he meets Tony in the lab and Tony tells him about the test and Peter becomes Tony's intern.

The whole fainting thing wasn't going to happen until later, but this probably fits better, and I like it a bit better.

That's All For Now Folks!

G'night, G'day and G'morning!
