*Rashmi Pov*

"Preetha?" I glanced away from the window hearing Chitra's voice and saw both of them frowning.

"Nothing! I just wanted to inform Rohan that we nearly reached Kanpur. You are staying over?" Chitra added the last question even though Kalyan shook his head in negative.

"Okay! How is he doing?" she asked, clearing her throat.

"What did she say?" I asked her when she took her phone away and stared at it.

"She just said fine and hung up on me, but seems like Rohan made her do it." She replied glaring at the phone.

"They are back together?" I asked in a shocked tone.

"We should have expected it already." Kalyan mumbled, shaking his head and turned his car into the city from the highway.

"How many times? They break up and patch up. In middle of all this, they bring these new people with whom we will be just getting closer and then they will be just out of the group. You guys are really obsessed with bringing new people into the group." I said, looking at Kalyan while he just cleared his throat.

"It's not like that." He weakly commented.

"Oh please! I experienced it on a first hand basis. Did you forget?" I asked, leaning forward to move closer.

"I still can't believe that you guys tried that hard because of a bet. You wanted me in your group because of a bet and why am I still a part of it." I added to myself more than to him.

"If it wasn't for that then I have no need to bear with you." I ignored her comment completely.

"It's just fate, Rashmi. You are meant to be a part of our crazy group." Kalyan stated smirking at me from the side.

"No one is crazier than you and we all proofs for that." Chitra whispered.

"God! I want to forget all those moments." I mumbled leaning back and glanced at the window really wishing to forget all of those moments in my life.

"How can you forget them, Rashmi? Shall I remind you with your nickname? What say, one week girlfriend?" Chitra teased and I stayed silent, not having any energy to counter her and she too kept quiet.

That stupid tag which I want to throw away from my life more than anything. It is all because of only one person. And I can't believe that I am giving up my holidays for that same person.

"Are you happy or sad that they both are together again?" Kalyan asked and I glanced at them to see they are glancing at me in between to hear my reply.

"I don't mind about all that. I just don't understand the concept of..." they both cut me off saying, "Getting back together after break up."

"Exactly! What is the point in all that?" I asked shaking my head.

"It's just a normal process, Rashmi. We both go through that from time to time." Chitra explained.

"What you both do is fight. I know the difference between Rohan's and your relationship." I pointed out leaning forward.

"And only you fight with Kalyan. All he does is to stay quiet and listen to you." I added smiling at her.

"You! Why am I even allowing you to stay at my house?" she asked glaring at me.

"I can always travel back to Noida." I said, picking up my phone to search for any available busses or trains.

"No!" they both shouted immediately making me drop my phone.

"What is that reaction?" I asked them confused, but they both stayed quiet not uttering another word.

"What are you guys hiding from me?" this time I definitely suspect them.

They are acting too weird from the time they picked me up. I just thought they are dejected because of the cancellation of the couples' trip. But this is like too much. They reacted strongly when I suggested going back to my place.

"You know how he is about everything but this is not a simple matter. We all need to be together to help him. You are also a part of our group, remember?" Kalyan pointed out, but I continued to stare at them not accepting his words.

"Did you guys inform Mehrin too?" I asked already knowing the answer.

"He doesn't want many people to know about that this early." I answered myself.

"Right!" they both replied and I glanced at my phone.

Should I call and inform her that I am back in Kanpur? She will definitely ask me the reason and it is not my matter to discuss with her right now. I don't think I should move to her place tomorrow.

"Chitra! I will stay at your place itself. I don't want to hide all this from Mehrin when she asks me the reason." I said waiting for her sarcastic remark or any narcissistic comment.

"Sure!" her reply definitely baffled me.

"We are here!" Kalyan's words stopped me from questioning her.

She unlocked the door and asked me to go inside while she stayed back to have a word with Kalyan before he leaves. I don't want to be a third wheel in their parting gestures so I walked towards her room without making a sound so that her parents will not wake up.

*Kalyan Pov*

"Were we really suspicious? She stared at us like doing an investigation." I asked Chitra to which she rolled her eyes.

"I was completely normal. You are the one giving her apologetic looks and definitely guilty ones." She shrugged.

"Maybe we shouldn't go ahead with this plan." I mumbled doubting all this.

"What are you so worried about? This will make her wish come true, Kalyan. We are just hiding it so that she will not back off having doubts. But in my opinion, she will thank all of us later." She assured me holding my hand.

Chitra is not wrong in thinking like that because she knows what happened only by hearing about it from us, but being personally present I don't know whether we will be doing Rashmi a favor or hurt her.

"Let Rohan do all this stuff. It is his plan from the start and we are just helping as caring friends." She added smiling.

"By the way, is he really back with her?" I asked her frowning.

"I don't know! I just said it is the issue so that she will not get suspicious. It was shocking for me too when Preetha lifted my call. They had such a huge fight before our holidays." She replied and I nodded at her.

"Day after tomorrow we will leave for a trip early in the morning. Don't let her get suspicious about all this. Rohan will talk to her tomorrow and we will see how will he make her accept for this." She nodded hearing my words.

"I will be completely bitchy so that she will not suspect. And it is a good thing that she decided to stay here instead of going to Mehrin's. I was thinking of a plan to make her stay but she herself suggested." She said smiling.

"You know how she is. She doesn't like to hide anything from Mehrin but she doesn't want to tell other people's matters without their permission too." I said glancing inside hoping she is not near us.

"Sometimes I am really jealous of the way you praise her." Chitra's words made me glance at her and she really looked down.

"You need not be. You know everything that is needed to be." I assured her.

"Do I?" she asked, staring at me.

No! But that will just complicate everyone's lives and it is not that important right now or in the future and it is just past. It is better that no one knows when there is no use at all for anyone to know except me.

"She must be waiting for you. We will meet tomorrow for lunch." Saying that I walked off giving her a hug.

Everything is already so much twisted right now and if she adds her doubts right now then I don't know how will we handle that stuff.

"Did she get doubt?" Rohan asked the moment he opened the door.

"Kind of! But we managed to change the topic. She decided to stay at Chitra's place itself and is not going to inform Mehrin about her arrival too." I replied entering inside.

"Everything is going according to the plan then." Rohan commented and seemed to be very happy about that fact.

"You are doing this for a friend and not a nation for you to feel so proud." Preetha commented walking towards us.

"One person is also important for a nation." Rohan pointed out glaring at her.

"You both are not actually together." I stated and they both nodded in agreement.

"We decided to cover up our issues for the main problem." She said shrugging.

They will definitely be together soon then. When he said he will definitely come to the trip as a couple even though he broke up with Preetha, I thought he must have got a new girlfriend, but seems like he wants to use this as an excuse to be with her.

"You guys remember how we three planned all those years back regarding Rashmi and we are doing it again." Rohan commented and I smiled remembering those days when I acted like a silly boy.

"That was our first and last bet. But I am glad it ended with her being a part of our group. Nothing bad happened because of us." I smiled and Rohan nodded in agreement.

"Are you guys sure about that?" Preetha commented in passing and walked off towards the guest room waving at us.

"What was that about?" Rohan mumbled to himself and gestured me towards the dining table where I can see he is already having second beer.

"Talking about the bet. Who actually won that?" he asked passing me a bottle.

"I definitely didn't win. I rattled about the bet the moment she decided to join us." I said, smiling, remembering the way I felt so guilty and blurted out the truth.

"But you did after she joined. So, it could be anyone of us. I kind of think it is because of him." He mumbled and I frowned at him.

"At that time itself?" I asked and he just shrugged.

None of us will never know the answer to that except Rashmi. If Rohan is correct, then he will also know the answer to that.

*PAST-SIX YEARS BACK*

"You have such double standards, Preetha. You were blocking us from this, but you went ahead and tried to make her come to our group." Rohan bickered when she joined us back after talking to Rashmi.

"Do you have any problem with this, Kalyan?" She asked looking at me.

"I don't care! I just want her in our group and I will definitely give my bike to that person." I replied smiling.

"You are like obsessed with her from the moment you met on the train. If not for that bike, I wouldn't have taken any part in this." Rohan mumbled shaking his head.

"And she is not that great too. Did you see, she didn't react to my flirting at all?" He added.

"Of course! Girls are not girls in your eyes unless they react to your flirting." Preetha shook her head in disgust.

"In spite of that you are a girl in my eyes, babe." Rohan teased and tried to dodge her hits.

"Where is the person for whom we rushed to this canteen?" I asked looking around.

"Maybe he left because we are late." Preetha replied and we sat down to try to work by ourselves before he returns.

"You guys finished?" we glanced up to see that he is already sitting with us.

"Where were you?" I asked him frowning.

"Where were you guys?" he asked back.

"They both were trying their stupid words to make her join us. But she seems to be clever and dodged them." Preetha replied before I can say anything.

"You too failed. Don't you want Kalyan's bike?" Rohan pointed the question towards him before she can say anything else.

"Excuse me!" we four lifted our heads hearing a voice and saw Rashmi standing at our table smiling.

"I know I was behaving kind of rude when I should be grateful for you all are trying to help me by being my friend. Can I still join you guys?" she asked, smiling at us and then glanced at me when we stayed silent.

"Sure!" Rohan replied and she smiled at him before moving a chair to sit down.

She actually thinks we have the best intentions and I can't deceive her like this. And this friendship can't start with lies too.

"I am sorry, Rashmi. Actually, we made a bet that whoever will get you join this group will win my bike. I hope you will still be here with us after learning this." I blurted out and everyone looked at me in shock.

Rashmi stared at me in disbelief and glanced at everyone in silence. She then just cleared her throat before standing up.

"We wouldn't have faked our friendship." I added, but she just cleared her throat again.

"Thanks for telling me this." Saying that she walked off.

"Never expected you to be the one to spill it." Rohan commented after a few minutes of silence.

"She looked like she was about to cry. That is a very strong reaction considering this matter. It was just a bet about making her join the group, right? What was there to cry?" Preetha asked, looking confused.

"Maybe she is very emotional." I mumbled.

"I like her! I am giving you the permission to go and apologize to her." Rohan commented and I just glared at him.

And somehow we three ended up apologizing to her which she accepted, but didn't make her our friend. But she again approached us by herself to be our friend. We don't know the reason for that just like for the first time. What could be the reason?
