Chapter Three
Geno sat in worry. It had been three days... Yet Reaper had not yet come back to visit. He said he would, but he wasn't here with him.
He watched the darkness around him, the hope of expecting Reaper starting to diminish and turn to dust...
...Just like everything else he ever had...
He flopped back against the void, perhaps ready to sleep all his problems away. Then another noise got his attention.
He instantly sat up to see Reaper, walking towards him and eyeing his form. "I told you I would be back," He chuckled, sitting down in front of Geno.
"Geez, took you long enough!" He complained, although he honestly was happy to see him... Even if it did take three days.
"Life as a reaper is busy, I hardly get any free time... You are lucky I have any right now," Reaper pointed out, in fact tired from a day if work.
"Whatever, you're here now I suppose," Geno sighed, looking back up at Reaper. He wasn't looking him in the eye...
Or wait, yes he was... But he was looking at the one covered by white glitched pixels. Geno grew nervous and turned that eye way from Reapers view.
"Forgive me for staring, I was just interested..." He apologised, looking Geno his his good eye. He looked worried.
"Why are you hurt? If you are the only one here, who has damaged you in such a way?" Reaper asked, keeping his voice friendly, he didn't want to make Geno nervous.
"Um... Everyone else has died, you didn't know that? You're a reaper, you should know who has lived and who has died," Geno pointed out, narrowing his eye.
"There's more than one reaper, sweetie. Maybe a hundr-" He was instantly cut short. "Don't call me that!" Geno yelped.
The small outburst surprised Reaper, and shut his mouth. He didn't mean, or want to upset Geno.
"I'm sorry..." He whispered, catching Genos light blush. He had embarrassed him with the nickname... Although he gives everyone nicknames.
"Just don't call me that!" Geno complained, crossing his arms in a childish manor. "Awe, it's only a nickname!" Reaper laughed.
He was surprised he was actually laughing. Happiness is something he doesn't get often, yet right now, he felt it.
It was like sunshine on his cold bones, it warmed him. He watched Geno blush some more. "Try pet name..." He muttered back, rolling his eyes.
"So what if it is a pet name? All i'm good fun," Reaper said, giving in a little. The last thing he wanted was Geno pushing him away for being rude.
He wasn't very good at being friendly. He probably came off as annoying or rude, if not both at the same time.
"Yeah well, find another way to have fun," Geno snapped back, refusing to be as forgiving or rational.
But Reaper didn't blame, or get angry at him for it. He just had a stubborn personality. He could work around it.
"Fine... What should we do then?" Reaper asked, hoping Geno would have an answer for him.
"Um... There is nothing to do here," Geno reminded him, looking around the empty void. Reaper gazed around as well.
"Right... Perhaps I will bring something for us to do next time," He told Geno, a little embarrassed he had forgotten it was boring.
"Yes! I haven't seen objects in so long!" Geno pretty much yelled back. He noticed his own excitement and calmed down. "My that I mean, yeah, sure, whatever."
Reaper smiled back at him. "Well, for now I guess we can relax," Reaper purred slightly as he spoke.
"Just, talk with me... I enjoy hearing a voice," Geno replied, closing his eyes as he relaxed. "Give me something I can picture."
"Hmm? Like what? The sun shining?" Reaper questioned, realized even simple things would feel so long gone to Geno.
"Yes! Anything!" He replied. Reaper smiled and continued talking about mountains, lakes and stars. Anything he could think off.
It was forty minutes later he realized he had to get back, maybe even a little late by now. "Geno I apologize, but I have work to do..."
He stood up, Geno opening his eye and frowning. "Oh, already? I mean, that's fine..." He looked a little disappointed.
"Dont worry, I will try not to be gone for so long. I'll bring cards back or something!" He told Geno, opening a portal to him own realm.
Geno smiled slightly, at least relieved be that. "Goodbye..." He sighed, waiting for Reaper to leave. He nodded to Geno then walked through his portal.
It closed behind him and he was face to face with someone. One of the higher up members of his group. "Finish, whats up?" Reaper asked.
The only big difference between him and finish was how killers cloak was more of a burgundy color.
"Nothing much... You are late is all. I don't care where you were, just don't let it happen again," He growled back to Reaper.
"Yes sir..." He muttered back. Reaper turned and walked away. "Oh and Death!" Finish called out to him.
Reaper paused to listen to what he had to say. "Don't keep secrets from me!" He said before also leaving the room.
Reaper was silent for a few seconds but then left.
