Sweet Melody
Hello! I have a Hyunsung one-shot for you all today. I haven't written a ton of one-shots for this ship, but I absolutely adore this pairing. If you couldn't tell, this ship is the first one I am writing an all out full-length story about. You should definitely go check it out if you like Hyunsung. It's called Collision Course. That's the end of my shameless plug. Anyway...this one-shot is going to be a bit different from anything I've written. It's loosely based off of the song Sweet Melody by Little Mix. It mentions some more mature topics, but nothing really happens, so you are free to read to your heart's content. I hope that you enjoy it.
Jisung grins as he runs forward and throws his arms around his two friends and bandmates, Chan and Changbin. "What's got you in such a good mood?" Chan asks as the three walk side by side towards the platform that will help them mystically descend to underneath the stage. The three are in a large arena, performing their final two concerts for their Asian leg of their tour. Their fans are cheering their names and waving banners with their faces on them in the air. They all flash smiles to the fans as they walk forward, adrenaline still pumping through their veins after their performance. "Oh...no reason...." Jisung says in a bragging tone, "I just picked up this really beautiful boy in the audience. I invited him backstage..." Chan and Changbin exchange a look before rolling their eyes. Jisung pouts at his friend's actions as they all stand on top of the platform and bow to say their final goodbyes to the crowd. "Hey, what was with that reaction?" Jisung questions, "You're my bros....you should be proud of me."
"Kinda hard to be when you do this every night..." Changbin deadpans as the platform starts to slowly lower.
"I don't..." Jisung states.
"Yeah, right," Changbin scoffs, "Every time we have a concert, you come to tell me about this pretty girl or drop-dead gorgeous guy you invited to come backstage and hang out..."
"We all know what hang out really means..." Chan hums as Jisung scowls and crosses his arms over his chest. Soon enough, the three boys are lowered to the bottom of the stage. They are flocked by their staff, who help wipe the makeup off their faces and get out of their stage outfits. "What does it matter what I'm doing with them?" Jisung asks, "They enjoy the time they spend with me..."
"I'm sure they would enjoy it even more if you gave them your phone number," Changbin says.
Jisung shakes his head, "That isn't how I roll..."
"We know," Chan sighs, "And that is why...as your bros...we can never be happy for you."
"You're starting to become a bit of a jerk," Changbin admits. Jisung huffs at his friends' words before stomping off towards his dressing room, having had heard more than enough of their opinions. "I don't care what you think," Jisung calls out, "If you'll excuse me...I have someone waiting for me..."
——————————————
Jisung sits on his couch within his personal dressing room. His guitar is propped up next to him and there are a variety of snacks on the small table in the center of the room. He glances up at the door, waiting patiently for the boy to come. He thankfully doesn't have to wait long as quiet knocks come from the door followed by a muffled hello. "Come on in!" Jisung calls out. The door slowly creeps open to reveal a boy with long black hair. He has small braids near the crown of his head where ribbons are curled through his locks. He has tiny strands of hair framing the sides of his pretty face which brush against his plump lips that are curled in a sweet smile. He is wearing skinny jeans and a short leather jacket on top of a shirt with a sheer like material. "Hi, gorgeous..." Jisung hums as he scans the boy up and down, "What's your name?"
"Hyunjin," The boy says as he walks over to take a seat besides Jisung. He leans close to the artist and giggles as Jisung reaches a hand up to run through his hair. "Wow..." Jisung murmurs, admiring Hyunjin's features, "You are something else..."
"Thank you," Hyunjin chirps.
"I'm going to enjoy tonight," Jisung says as he grabs a hold of Hyunjin's cheek and brings their faces close together. Their lips move closer and closer until they are just about to touch, but before they can, Hyunjin pushes Jisung away from him with all of his strength. The singer's eyes shoot open in surprise as he tumbles off the couch and onto the floor. Hyunjin starts to laugh and shake his head. He crosses his arms over his chest and watches as Jisung picks himself off the floor. "Okay..." Jisung shrugs, "I'm not usually into this type of stuff, but if you are..."
"Oh my gosh...just stop," Hyunjin states, "I pushed you off of me to get you away, not to come off as a tease..."
"Excuse me?" Jisung questions with furrowed brows.
Hyunjin rolls his eyes, "I didn't come here to sleep with you, Han Jisung."
"Why not?" Jisung asks.
Hyunjin scoffs, "I have some pride, Han. Do you really think that I was going to have a one night stand with you? As good-looking as you are...I am not looking for someone to play around with..."
"Well, I'm not either," Jisung says in a suddenly serious tone, "I'm sorry...I'm just so used to people not wanting anything more than just this..."
"Really?" Hyunjin questions.
Jisung nods, "I brought you back here cause I was hoping that you may have been different. I was really taken by you the second I saw you in the crowd tonight."
"Do you expect me to believe that?" Hyunjin asks in a skeptical tone.
"I mean it," Jisung says, "You have unlocked something within me, Hyunjin. I've never felt this way about anyone. You're my muse! I've already written a song about how beautiful you are! Would you like to hear it?" Hyunjin purses his lips together, but remains silent, not offering his opinion on the matter. Jisung takes Hyunjin's quietness as not a no, so he grabs his guitar by the neck and positions it on his lap. He lets his fingers run over the strings as he starts to play the melody. He looks at Hyunjin as he sings. A soft smile begins to bloom on the pretty boy's lips as Jisung continues to sing. Jisung plays the rest of the song before slowly lowering his guitar and looking at Hyunjin. "Well..." Jisung says, "Will you give me a chance?"
"Of course..." Hyunjin exclaims, "Not!"
Jisung's eyes widen in surprise, not having expected that answer, "W-what?"
"Do you think I'm stupid?" Hyunjin asks, "Do you really think a silly love song would convince me to sleep with you?"
"I told you-," Jisung starts, only to be cut off by Hyunjin.
Hyunjin shakes his head, "Yeah, yeah, you want a real relationship. You know you're not fooling anyone with that line. Then again...I'm sure some sucker fell for that ridiculous song. Tell me. How many times have you sang that exact same song to a girl or guy to convince them to sleep with you?" Jisung freezes, not knowing what to say or do. This is the first time that anyone has seen through his little ruse. This is the first time that anyone has been this adamant about not sleeping with him. How is this even possible? How did Hyunjin figure it all out? "All of you singers are the same..." Hyunjin scoffs, "You pick up some pretty toy from the crowd, have a one night stand, and then never talk to the poor person again. I know your game, Han Jisung. And I'm not falling for it."
"Hyunjin..." Jisung says as the boy stands up and makes his way to the door.
"This is all going to come and bite you in the ass one day," Hyunjin says as he exits the dressing room, "And you're going to be all alone without anyone to love..." Jisung sits on the couch, completely shell-shocked as he stares at the shut door, wondering what had just happened.
——————————————
Jisung sighs loudly in the hotel room after his failed endeavor to get Hyunjin in bed. Chan and Changbin are sitting in their beds, eating food and working on lyrics respectively. Jisung sighs again and his friends share another look with one another before turning to speak to Jisung. "Okay, what the heck is wrong with you?" Changbin asks, "You come back to the hotel early with this kicked puppy look on your face and now you're sighing every ten seconds."
"You don't want to know..." Jisung says.
"Why?" Chan asks.
"It's about Hyunjin," Jisung states.
"Hyunjin?" Changbin questions.
"The guy that I picked up from the crowd..." Jisung answers.
Changbin's nose wrinkles and he nods his head, "You're right. I don't want to know." Chan throws a pillow at Changbin, who stares at the oldest in disbelief. Chan shakes his head and discreetly points to Jisung, who still appears to be in this weird slump. "Did something happen with Hyunjin?" Chan asks.
Jisung laughs and shakes his head, "Nothing happened. And I mean nothing."
"Then, why are you so upset?" Changbin asks.
Jisung huffs, "He saw right through me."
"Huh?" Chan questions.
"He knew all my tricks!" Jisung exclaims, "He knew that I was trying to get in bed with him and he rejected me! I played him that stupid song that I use for the people that need a bit more convincing, but he also knew that I had sang it to a billion others!" Chan and Changbin look at Jisung with raised eyebrows before becoming a fit of giggles and loud chuckles. Jisung frowns at his friends' amusement with his problems. "What the hell?! Are you laughing at me? I told you all this cause I thought you would try to make me feel better!" Jisung shouts in an upset tone. Chan and Changbin slowly calm themselves down, still letting out a few quiet laughs. "Sorry...sorry," Chan says, "It's just really amusing."
"It's hilarious," Changbin states, "Someone finally put you in your place."
Jisung crosses his arms over his chest, "Some friends you are...shouldn't you be on my side?"
"We are," Chan says, "And that's why we're laughing."
"That makes no sense," Jisung says.
"It makes perfect sense," Changbin says, "We've been trying to convince you forever to stop doing this whole sleeping around thing. We never would have thought that one of the people you were trying to get in bed with would set you straight."
Jisung scoffs, "He didn't set me straight. He just annoys me."
"I've never seen you act this passionate about any of your previous rendezvous," Changbin says, "I am even starting to believe that you may actually be interested in him..."
Jisung rolls his eyes, "He is pretty. And he has a nice laugh. But, I don't like him like that! Especially after he rejected me!"
"I'm actually glad he did," Changbin says, "Maybe, you'll learn from the experience and get it into your dumb head that what you've been doing is crappy."
"Chan hyung!" Jisung whines, "Changbin is being mean..."
Chan sighs, "He's right, Sung. This is your rude awakening."
"Awakening from what?!" Jisung exclaims.
"From this spiraling cycle of sleeping with a random person and then ditching them the next day," Changbin says.
"You make it sound like it's a bad thing...like drugs or something," Jisung huffs.
"It is a bad thing," Chan states, "You're hurting people."
"I'm giving them a night that they used to dream of," Jisung says.
"Can I slap him?" Changbin asks, looking at Chan.
"No," Chan says in a serious tone before looking at Jisung, "You've been acting like a whole other person lately, Sung. Can't you hear yourself? You sound like a self-entitled brat who has everything!"
"No, I don't," Jisung protests.
"You do," Changbin says, "The fact that you're complaining about how Hyunjin rejected you shows that."
"That's cause it doesn't make sense!" Jisung rambles loudly, "How could he reject someone like me? I'm a famous performer! I am filthy rich! I have fans all over the world who want me! I'm Han freaking Jisung!!! I'm.....oh..." Jisung presses his mouth shut as it slowly begins to dawn on how narcissistic he is sounding. He lets out a shaky breath and looks over at his friends who have knowing glances on their faces. "I'm a dick..." Jisung murmurs.
"You have been recently," Chan muses, "But, we don't blame you. It's partially our fault for letting you fall down this hole for so long."
"I don't even remember what started this..." Jisung whispers to himself, completely horrified at himself.
"It was after that backup dancer left you suddenly," Changbin states, "You were heartbroken..."
"Oh...yeah..." Jisung mutters. He remembers the time now. There was this dancer who caught his heart the second they made eye contact. They had spent every moment together. Smiling, laughing, making memories. They were in love. It was beautiful, until it wasn't. Until, the dancer left without even a message. Jisung had never experienced pain like that before. He didn't know how to handle it, so he buried it and delved into the world of bliss and bodily passion. But, it wasn't the same. It did nothing to help him, and as he continued to spiral, he just lost more of himself. "I'm just as bad as him..." Jisung comments, "How could I do this to people?"
"You were in pain and confused," Chan says.
"That doesn't make what I did right!" Jisung exclaims.
"No," Changbin sighs, "It doesn't." Jisung lets out a shaky breath as his eyes become a bit glassy. He blinks a couple of times, trying to keep himself from crying. "What...what do I do?" Jisung asks.
"The only thing you can," Chan states, "You apologize."
——————————————
"Why did you invite me backstage again?" Hyunjin asks as he slips into Jisung's dressing room, "I told you that I'm not interested in sleeping with you." It's the last night of their tour. It's usually a very happy time, but not for Jisung. He had spent hours searching for every person he had come in contact with during the tour. It had taken a lot of time, but he was able to reach out to them and say he was sorry for any pain he caused them. Most of them had forgiven him, some were still a bit hurt, but had said that they appreciate the apology. It was enough for Jisung. He just wanted to make up for his actions. He's apologized to everyone except for Hyunjin. And it's the best for him to do this one in person. "I know," Jisung says, "I actually wanted to say that I'm sorry." Hyunjin raises his eyebrows in surprise and stares at Jisung, who nods his head. "I'm serious," Jisung says, "I...you made me realize that I've been acting really horribly lately. I never wanted to hurt anyone. I never wanted to become this type of person. But, I did. I became someone that I don't even recognize. I'm disgusted with myself and I'm going to try my hardest to fix that. I'm done with the sleeping around and the jerky boy band member act. I want to make this right. I've already apologized to everyone else and now I'm apologizing to you. I wanted to do it in person. I'm so, so sorry Hyunjin."
Hyunjin nods his head in understanding, "You're forgiven..."
"Really?" Jisung questions.
"Yeah," Hyunjin says, "I'm glad that you realized your wrongs and apologized to every single person you hurt."
"It's cause of you," Jisung says in a sincere tone, "Thank you. I would still be a piece of crap if you didn't reject me like that."
Hyunjin chuckles, "Well, I'm glad that you appreciated me shoving you onto your ass."
Jisung groans, "Don't remind me. Chan hyung and Changbin hyung were having a field day when I told them what happened."
"You talked about me?" Hyunjin asks.
"Of course," Jisung says with a soft smile on his face, "You're the annoying pretty boy who rejected the great Han Jisung."
Hyunjin scoffs, "What happened to changing your ways?"
"I've always been like this, baby," Jisung says in a joking tone.
Hyunjin shakes his head, "Flirtatious much..."
"You know it," Jisung smirks, "But, seriously, thank you. I mean that from the bottom of my heart. I don't know how to repay you for what you did."
"How about by giving me your number?" Hyunjin questions.
"You want my number?" Jisung says in a surprised tone.
"That is if you're willing to give it," Hyunjin nods, "I want to get to know you a bit more. The real you."
Jisung smiles at his words, meeting Hyunjin's gaze, "I'd like that. I'd like that a lot."
Did you like it? I thought it would be fun to try something new like this. I liked writing it, so I hope you all enjoyed reading it.
