The next few days go along with nothing unusual, besides the fact that I haven't gone out to burn anything.
I look out and see the fire still burning bright. Someone or something is keeping that flame alive, because yesterday it was pouring rain.
I feel like I should go over there, that it's going to go out if I don't. I pull my shoes back on and hurry across the street and sit on the log which is frequently used as a bench.
The warmth of the fire hits me and I smile. It's better than my half working space heater. I lean back with a small smile.
"I knew you'd be back." A voice says from next to me.
"WHO ARE YOU!" I gasp and fall off the end of the log.
"A person." He laughs. I scoff and roll my eyes, standing up to leave if things go anything like last time.
"Wow.... I thought you were the boogeyman." I sass
"Really? I'm honored!" He smiles.
"Who are you." I pull out a pocketknife I bought with the little money I didn't put into savings or bills.
"Fiesty. Are you going to poke me to death?" He laughs, his eyes going a bit dark for a second.
"I'm asking you who the hell you are! WHATS YOUR NAME AND WHAT DO YOU WANT WITH ME!" I steady my shaking hands and stare at him with as much intensity I can muster.
"Oh Bunny you'll get to know me soon." He easily disarms me and throws the knife into the log we were sitting on.
"That doesn't answer my question!" I huff and stomp my feet.
"Be patient bunny, it's a virtue."
