introduction
Church bells rang, vows were exchanged, greetings and best wishes were received, and commitment was promised.
They were married, with a son that meant the world to them.
Anyone that is happy and content in love would think that life after marriage would be easy, however, they were dead wrong about it. Mark Lee, a businessman who works his ass off day and night at a not-so-well-known company— but had a salary enough to provide for the family he has with his husband. To have that ideal happy family life, Mark wanted that, he badly was wishing and begging for that.
Seems like for him, Lee Donghyuck was giving him a hard time for their marriage itself. An overachiever during his younger years, was constantly praised for his performance in school that would go beyond their expectations, and was quite friendly with everyone. He was the type of student who had top-tier humor that would make everyone laugh, but at the same time, you would hear his name being mentioned whenever an award from a Quiz Bee was announced. He also excelled in sports, he had everything a student wished to have. That was the kind of student Lee Donghyuck was, perfect.
People were jealous and wanted the life that he had, and Donghyuck knew that. He knew so well how life has been so good to him.
"Why do you keep on blaming me?" Trying not to raise his voice, Donhyuck treated the bruise on their son's knee as he was fuming inside because he was being accused of a mistake.
Until someone promised him a perfect marriage.
Mark had his eyes staring deep into his husband's, "Well, you're the one watching over him, aren't you? Who should I blame then, the rock that he tripped over?"
"You're overreacting, it was just a clumsy mistake by our son," Donghyuck stated, his tone showing a hint of irritation. "His wound isn't even that big."
"Should we wait till it gets serious?" With the kid standing there and listening to them arguing, Mark knew well to prevent himself from shouting; biting down his profanities to avoid saying anything. "Do we care only when he has to be brought to the hospital and get some sort of surgery? Is that when I have the right to react?"
"Okay, sorry!" Donghyuck forced out an apology for the sake of their argument to end right this instant. "Sorry because I don't care enough. Are we done? Are we over with this? I'm so sorry, Mark Lee."
If there was a chance for them to turn back time when they have never met each other yet, they would do anything just to get that opportunity.
An opportunity where they could pretend they don't know each other.
Mark knew how much of a sarcastic response that was, not even close to being a genuine apology, "Bring Chan to his room, and let him rest for today." And it pissed him even more.
Donghyuck had his eyes wide open. Not because he was surprised, but because he felt guilty that their son had to stay at home when he promised the kid that he would go out to play with a friend. "He can walk. Chan still wants to play outside."
"Did you hear what I just said?" Mark had his voice deeper to show authority, as if warning the male not to let him repeat what he had stated.
A frown made its way to both the child's and Donghyuck's lips, both unhappy at the turn of events. Arguing has been a normal occurrence to the both of them. It kept on happening during their years of being married together that Donghyuck can't seem to count how many times has it been and what they have been arguing. Yet, it never fails to hurt him every single time.
"This is tiring me, I'm tired, Mark."
"Us both, then." Mark had said before turning his back on them and walking away, hoping to cool himself off and scold himself for having their child witness them arguing.
If only they could turn back time and change everything, they would have done it without a second thought.
[ONCE AGAIN] PRESENTS:
notes;
— the idea of a married couple going back in time got inspired by the k-series 'go back couple'. never have watched it during the time of making this book, but already knew the idea and concept of the series which is why it made me make a book with the same concept of going back in time.
— making out, drinking, profanities, etc.
— specific warnings will be mentioned before the chapter starts (if the chapter needs it).
