The third section lost some momentum but you recovered before it cost you people clicking away—the ending was very satisfying.

It's real.

Not every batch, though.

Most interns finish the program and move on. But every now and then, we'll keep someone on as a student contributor if they've shown they can handle the work.

Aside from the obvious higher pay and opportunity to grow, for a sports writer, it's courtside credentials, contacts, national team assignments, Olympic stories, SEA Games, long-form features, investigative pieces, maybe producing a YouTube series on our Olympians/other athletes.

It means access. It means bigger stories.
