Great. Just fucking. GREAT.

"Summer, where are my pink heels?" Victoria stormed out of her room, the baby blue cardigan swung on her hand, each step was furious as Victoria headed to her sister's room, even though she was older than her, Victoria had issues on people grabbing her stuff —even though she has done the same thing to her.

"I am wearing them to an interview tomorrow." Summer answered back as she curled her hair, the image in the mirror was looking back at her. "Why do you need them for?"

"I start classes next week and I wanted to look good for orientation tomorrow." Victoria crossed her arms over her chest, her tone slowing down the anger off it. If she wanted her heels back, she needed to be nice. "Fine, I'll see what else I can wear."

Summer called out for her when she wasn't in the reflection, the younger blonde stood on her view again. "I suggest you were comfortable shoes in this occasion, but you would look amazing in the plaid skirt and your off the shoulder pink blouse, y'know which one I am talking about?" Victoria nodded, a small smile creeping in her lips. "Great, when I finish with your heels I'll give them back after cleaning them as well."

Victoria gave her sister two thumbs up and left her room, heading to hers already changing various outfits she has already planned all because of the lack of heels, her phone chimmed loudly on her bed, lowring the music's volume, her high school soccer groupchat already arguing about the college tryouts even though some of them were in different cities but somehow tryouts were planned for one same day.

Her best friend and only one to join her at Briar U Kira had sent her a private message.

Tori, doll. Did I leave my cleats at your place?

The blonde typed back that she would search for them, her own little red cleats were hidden under her bed that needed to be in her bag looked back at her, but Kira's cleats —which she hoped were the whites one— were no where to be found, at least under the bed. Another message came in, Kira reporting she had found them, at least what was left of them adding a picture of one of them chewed up and behind the cleat in a very blurry way, her Saint Bernand, Minnie.

Victoria couldn't help but giggle, sending a laughing emoji and focused back on her unfinished baggage, remembering the cleats she kneeled back down to grab them and tossing them inside, she just hoped her uniform at BU was acceptable to mix with red.

Two hours later Victoria was finished and everything was in her trunk. The blonde has begged her father to let her drive alone to campus, but as she was the youngest of his kids, Dean had to join, also since he was already a student there, he would know where to go and show Victoria around.

"Tori, lets go, we got a long drive ahead of us and I got things to do at the house." He meant frat house, hideous place. Victoria had made a mental note to never set a foot inside of it, or any other frat house at least until her junior year at BU.

Even though Victoria had her license somehow Dean managed to get into the driver seat of her Mercedes Wagon, which sort of bothered her but only meant she could take a very deep sleep, only thing she hoped for were the snack and a bathroom break.

The drive had been peaceful, music had been playing softly that Victoria hadn't noticed the moment she took a nap.

"You okay? Or do you need me to drive now?" She glaced at the clock, it was near 9 pm, one more hour to go-ish.

"I'm okay." Dean said, both hands on the steering wheel. "Before we arrive, I need to give you some pointers." That made Victoria sigh in her seat. "Hey, it's important, first of all Tori, I mean it, Briar isn't high school. You're here for your degree, not to throw away your GPA, so focus on your major." Noted.

"Second, thank god you find fraternities disgusting, but I do not want to see you at some party, which bring me to rule two point two, my friends are off limits, they're my boys, but they are all idiots."

"No need to worry about that, I am not interested in your animalistic friends, I've met them." Technically she had only met one and that was enough, Graham, or at least that was his name.

"Don't care, just stay away from them, which now we end this conversation with last rule If anyone—and I mean ANYONE on campus—gives you trouble, makes a weird comment, or steps out of line, you call me immediately. I don't care if it's 3:00 AM. You call me."

"What if you're at practice?"

"Leave me thousands of texts, I will call you immediately after." Dean glanced over at Victoria, his face serious. He was not joking about this. "Got it?" And Tori nodded, she feared that if she smiled Dean wouldn't take her serious, and honestly. Dean's opinion of her mattered the most to Victoria.

Dean was careful driving from New York to Hastings was peaceful, the streets were mostly empty when reaching campus and towards the dorms Tori would be spending her four years in Communications major. Her dorm was on the west side wing and she noticed a very familiar car at a parking spot Dean set the wagon, and out of the drivers seat came the one and only Beau Maxwell, Dean's best friend and Victoria's prank accomplice.

"New York, you've made it." Beau greeted the short blonde into an embrace. "Did the old man fall asleep or something?" Comment made earned him a slap on his chest from the oldest blonde.

"He didn't sleep, he spent four hours giving me the 'don't ruin my reputation' lecture," Victoria corrected, stepping out of Beau's embrace with a dramatic sigh as the crisp Massachusetts night air bit through her jacket.

"Hey, it was a vital safety presentation," Dean grunted, popping the trunk of the G-Wagon with a click. He pointed a stern finger at Beau. "And don't you start enabling her. She's supposed to be focusing on her GPA, not whatever chaos you two usually cook up."

Beau just smirked, casually leaning into the trunk to grab two of Victoria's heaviest designer suitcases like they weighed nothing. "Relax, Di Laurentis. I'm on move-in duty, not bad-influence duty. At least not until midnight." He glanced over at Victoria with a knowing look. "Besides, somebody's gotta make sure you actually survive living on the west side."

"I can handle myself, Maxwell," Tori chuckled, grabbing her smaller duffel bag and her jacket.

"Oh, I know you can, I was talking about your victims safety." Beau smiled and started walking towards the dorm building.

Dean threw his hands up, grabbing her final piece of luggage with a heavy sigh. "See? This is what I mean. Unprovoked violence."

"It's called self-defense, Dean. Beau knows what he did last time." Tori shot back smoothly, falling into step beside them as the automatic doors slid open, blasting them with the stale warmth of the hall's heating system.

"Room 214, right?" Beau asked over his shoulder, effortless despite carrying two forty-pound bags like they were filled with feathers.

"Yep. Second floor, end of the hall," Victoria said, her eyes scanning the cinderblock walls and navy-blue room doors. It was officially real now. She was actually at Briar.

Dean bumped his shoulder gently against hers as they reached her door, his tough protective act softening just a fraction. "Alright, Tori. Moment of truth. Let's see what four grand a semester in room and board actually gets you."

Opening the door with the pass key Victoria has safely secured in her duffle bag the room greeted them with two empty beds, her roommate hasn't arrived yet, which gave her an extra point start to choose a bed. "Dibs on the window," Victoria declared immediately, slipping past her brother and tossing her coat onto the mattress on the left. The moonlight hit the glass just right, revealing a view of the quad and the distant, glowing silhouette of the campus ice arena.

Beau hauled her two heaviest suitcases inside, dropping them near the closet with a dramatic groan that was entirely for show. "You owe me a meal for this, New York. Preferably something that doesn't come out of a dining hall."

"Put it on Dean's tab," she said, already unzipping her duffel to pull out her phone and double-check her keycard.

Dean stood in the middle of the small space, his hands on his hips as his eyes did a slow, analytical sweep of the room—checking the window locks, the desk outlets, and the distance between the two beds like he was inspecting a high-security facility. "Not bad. A little cramped, but doable. Roommate comes tomorrow?"

"Yeah, her flight lands in the morning," Tori replied, running a hand over the bare mattress. The messaged arrived during the drive here and Victoria had forgotten to reply.

Dean stepped over, pulling her into a quick, firm side-hug. "If the heater breaks, you call maintenance. If some guy bothers you, you call me. And if you get homesick..." He paused, flashing a faint smirk. "Well, you won't, because I'm literally a five-minute drive away."

"I was going to say 'I'll call mom,' but sure," Tori teased, though she squeezed his arm back before letting go.

Beau leaned against the doorframe, twirling her dorm key on his finger before tossing it back to her. She caught it without looking. "Alright, boss," Beau said, nodding toward the hallway. "We got her moved in without any major casualties. Are we heading back to the house, or are you gonna inspect the plumbing next?" Dean grabbed him by a headlock and pulled him out of the room, the two of them play-fighting out of her room.

"Bye you guys." Victoria waved, watching them disappear around the corner as they headed towards the elevator, leaving her alone to unpack. "You got this, this is a new start Victoria. Don't mess it up."
