One Last Breath pt. 1

(This story is so disgusting to me, but I like it at the same time? It gives me the heebie-jeebies and I half wrote it. The creep factor will come in later though...)

"My name is Peter Parker. I'm the amazing Spider-Man." Peter says to himself as he was swinging through the city almost as if he was trying to remind himself of who he was. "And today I can just tell is going to be the best day ever."

He jumped onto the side of a building peering down at the street below. "And with all I've been through recently, I deserve this. I mean what's the point of being Spider-Man if you can't enjoy it? Web-swinging, wall crawling, all of New York is your own personal play ground. Hm...that didn't last long."

Peter spotted a robbery in persuit by what looked like a super villain taking place a block away and swung there to fix the problem. "What now?"

"My family's store is being robbed by a- super villain?" An Italian man speaks to him frantically.

Peter looked up to find a strange staticky giant metal man robbing a small family store.

"Stay where you are! Or I, Destructor, will fry you where you stand!" The man spoke through his armor.

"My God. Who talks like that?" Peter scoffs.

"Can you stop, 'im?" The store owner asks frightened.

"Let's. Find. Out." Peter says flipping up and onto the metal man punching the open space of his armor, knocking his has clean off, not seeming to be holding back his strength like he always does. The man was down with that punch alone.

"There's a reason he was speaking that way he's a bluffer." The female police officer explains to him after the fight. The police were escorting the now very injured "bluffer" away.

"A "bluffer"?" Peter asks confused.

"He doesn't have any powers just a homemade suit with two dollar sparklers in his gloves. With harsher sentences for holding up places with fake guns crooks get by pretending to be super villains." She explained further.

"Unbelievable." Peter scoffed, placing his hands on his hips.

"Nobody's blaming you Spidey." She responds.

"Blaming me for what?" Peter asks not seeming to understand how knocking off someone's jaw would cause for blame.

"For hitting him like you are taking on the Hulk." She says like it was obvious. "But I still need you to come down to the station and fill out some-"

He immediately started to swing away from her to avoid any questioning. "No. I don't think so."

"Why?" She asked.

"Because I have a life!" Peter responded annoyed.

He slipped into his and Rachael's bedroom window stripping down and beginning to change into more appropriate attire to walk around in.

"The nerve of some people. I provide a public service and- and I should probably stop complaining for once things are going extremely well. I've got a whole building with my name on it in the nice part of town, these boyish good looks and- Wait where'd that come from?" Peter speaks out loud to himself, touching a cut on his left cheek. "Oh, right. Razorbat to the face. Good thing I heal faster than others. And if I run into anyone I'll just tell them I had a fall."

He began to tie his tie when his phone buzzed in his dress pants pocket. "Hmm. Who'd be calling. No not calling texting. Rachael Stark ...Mmm. So much history between the two of us. Maybe I should bring her some lunch..." Peter smirked a bit creepily.

"With the sun in my eyes you were gone, but I knew even then in a crowd of thousands. I'd find you. Again..." Rachael and her male counterpart sang to finish up the days rehearsal and to get ready for the afternoon show. Peter walked into the theatre finding them starting to wrap everything up.

"Your highness." The male got down on one knee and bowed in front of her.

Peter clapped awkwardly as they all began to walk back to their dressing rooms to get ready or to head out for a quick lunch.

Rachael smiled at him as he walked towards the stage. She hoped off and headed to meet him halfway. "Mmh, Mr. Parker! In a suit and tie. What's the special occasion?"

"Life...kid." Peter says seeming a bit hesitant to use the nickname he gave her so long ago. "That's the special occasion. And I'm done letting it pass us by."

Rachael tilted her head to the side questioningly, as he wrapped his arms around her waist. Something felt off, but she couldn't quite place it.

" Let's go somewhere just the two of us." Peter says biting his lip.

"You're serious? This's really happening? Right now? - Wait! I promised May you'd pick groceries for her, so she's doesn't have to carry it across town herself. Didn't you get my text?" Rachael says.

"Oh, right. Of course...groceries." Peter sighs. "Yeah sure... I'll go get them."

"Thank you, you're my hero." Rachael smiles kissing his cheek. "I have to go back to working now..."

"Of course, of course. I'll be gone lickity-split." Peter sighs, letting her go and turning to walk away annoyed.

"Lickity-split? Who says that?" Rachael mumbles to herself shaking her head and heading back stage.

Peter's pocket started to buzz again. "Oh hell. What now? My-My Avengers ID card...they need me. At the raft? Guess the groceries will just have to wait."

He went behind a building to change into the spider-suit before swinging towards the docks to find the one boat that would take him where he needed to go.

"So what's going on? Another break out?" Peter asks as he approaches the few from the team that were waiting for him on the prison boat.

"No. We thought you should know. One of your old enemies...he's dying it won't be long now." Steve explains.

"It's Doc Ock, isn't it?" Peter asks.

"Yes. And he's asking for you." Steve nods.

"I understand." Peter says.

"No. You don't. He's asking for Peter Parker." Steve says urgently.

"Take me to him." Peter says quickly.

"Cap isn't this going to look suspicious?" Wanda asks walking along with the group through the prison.

"No. This is just Spider-Man paying his respects to an old foe. Nothing more, nothing less." Steve explains.

"Hey, kid. He starts messing with your head no one'll care if he pops off ahead of schedule. Ya got that?" Sam says.

"Say it a little louder why don't you?" Clint scoffs.

They stopped in front of Otto's cell. Peter turned to look at them all. "You mind? I'd like to do this in private. No cameras just the two of us."

"Of course." Steve nods, the precautions already being put in place.

"Alright we're alone. This what you wanted? You had something to say to me?" Peter asks walking into the room closing the door tightly behind him.

Ock coughed as he tried to speak managing to choke out a weak sounding: "Peter Parker".

"Yes, I'm Peter Parker." Peter says taking his mask off.

"No..." Otto spit out, weakly. "I'm Peter Parker."

Peter's entire demeanor shifted to a much darker less facade based front. "Not anymore, Spider-Man. From now on I am Peter Parker. I have all your memories. I know everything you knew. I have your life and everything that comes with it. And you are now Otto Octavious. With what little time you have left, trapped in that broken body. Brought about by years of your brutal beatings. And like a good magician I shall not reveal my secrets. You will die, never knowing how I performed my last and greatest trick." Peter says, well who the world thinks is Peter Parker.

Ock, or well Peter started to cough in his prison bed a flatline noise following.

"Medic!" Peter- Ock calls out slipping away amidst the chaos as the doctors charged in to try and sustain him. "From now on I've got better things to do with my life."
