On a random note, I haven't posted a oneshot here in so long I have completely forgotten how to do the beginning part—
Imma copy and paste—
Name: ???
Fandom: Kutan (Original World by me and IndigoSilver08 )
Species: Nine-Time Reincarnate (Original Species)
Location: The Rayek Mountains in Keod
Being a Nine-Time Reincarnate, he knew he was close to death.
He honestly didn't mind. He had lived through nine lives—suffered, more like. From the first to last, from a toddler to adult in each. Suffering and living day by day, hour by hour, minute by minute. He had been plagued by karma in each life, due to a mistake in his first; a wrong turn in the confusing web of roads that defined one's existence.
A Nine-Time Reincarnate lived and died nine times—almost like a cat. But they didn't simply live again in their original body after dying. Their original body acts just like any other—soon withering away, lifeless. Instead, their soul is reborn in a new world, a young orphan.
Nine-Time Reincarnates had only one pair of parents in their entire existence, at least one of whom was a Nine-Time Reincarnate as well. The rest eight of their lives were spent as orphans in a foreign world. Nine-Time Reincarnates had nine lives, and sometimes nine loves. But they could only have one children.
He had had a child in his eighth life. A little girl, innocent, and loved, and bright. It had been his best life.
Nine-Time Reincarnates were rare, and spread out. He had only ever known two: His mother, and his daughter.
And he knew he would never see them again.
He knew his daughter would 'wake up' again in her second life, her memories attached, her body back to one of a four or five year old. She would be excited, just as he had been. She would think this was a new start, just as he had.
She would soon realize that the nine lives was more of a curse than a blessing, just as he had.
He knew this was his last life. He knew this would be shorter than the others.
That was why he had been determined to make this one worth it.
The karma never left, but with eight lives of experience, he managed to claw his way to a better position than in his previous lives.
He had been born in Kutan in his ninth life, in the refugee camps. He had been offered a special position in the government when he was barely twenty.
And now, he was finally doing something world changing. He was protecting something that could spell out the fate of Kutan in a terrible way.
He knew he was finally doing something good, something worthwhile.
But he knew his death was close.
But he didn't mind. He didn't mind when he knew that after eight lives of karma and terrible decisions, he had changed. He ended his story on a good note.
He had a plan to go down with a blaze of glory.
So he was ready when he walked down the road at night, and a specialist officer of the Dimension Police jumped out at him.
He could not dodge the kick she sent him, connecting with his head, and knocking him to the ground.
She put a foot on his chest, pointing a spear at him.
"Where is it?"
He just smiled. He promptly took out a small cube box, metal and locked, which wouldn't stop the DP, but it didn't matter.
He held it close to his mouth, and whispered, "To where you go."
His hand glowed red.
The specialist's eyes widened as she realized what he was doing. She had no time to reach for it, so she stabbed him in the chest with her spear, just as the box blinked and disappeared.
"Brisingr."
Fire exploded from his chest at his command, swallowing the specialist and him all at once. With both the fire and the stab, he did not survive long.
But he had no more regrets. He had done his part. Kutan was safe for now. His suffering would finally end.
All he felt as his life was drained away, his soul disappearing from the multiverse for good...
Was peace.
