So, I have mentioned an old oc before. Also, I've mentioned using this character as inspiration for Amira. Actually, Mirandak was named after her. This character was named Mirandak at birth, but used Olivia as a nickname. Honestly, I loved her growing up, but now that I'm older and I know more about making good characters, I see she was awful, and I'm glad I decided to get rid of her. I decided to make this post after finding an old pic I drew. Other pics, I threw away, but I guess I forgot to get rid of this one. Here it is.

She's the character on the left. Being honest, that character wasn't even her. She had DID, and one of her alters was a fucking killer, the whole reason behind her name. She had four alters: Olivia, Killer, Shadow, and Multi. *sigh* I didn't even give them names. In young me's defence, I didn't know DID (MPD back then) was a thing. All I knew is that I'd seen characters from all forms of media that had several personalities. Somehow, I knew that not all alters were evil. Dunno how.

Honestly, I fucking hate this character. She's a special snowflake. *mocking voice* She had a horrible, abusive childhood, her Dad was a fucking Demonic God (something she hated), and her family was dysfunctional. Oh, boohoo. Plus, she could change her appearance, mainly eye colour, hair colour, and teeth shape. It was dumb. Another special snowflake trait was that she was part dragon (in her soul), part 'shadow being', part vampire, and part human. I'm cringing at how horrible it was.

In all honesty, I actually nailed the details of the alters. They could communicate, they would take control when it was needed, alters weren't evil, they had different- traits, personalities, flaws, strengths, motives, opinions, and appearances they saw themselves to be like-, they all served a purpose, and they didn't all appear together. Plus, Olivia had no memory of what they did.

However, I had an idea recently. I might re-do this character, and change a lot about her. But, first of all, here's their appearance, basics, and personalities. However, there some parts I either don't remember, or never decided. So, I will fill them in for what makes sense for those characters. Those parts will be in the basics, and will be underlined.

Name: Olivia Re'Amnesia Black
Gender: female
Age: 18. I remember her being born in 1999
DoB: 5th August 1999
Sexuality: bisexual
Race: quater vampire, quater dragon, quater shadow being, and quater human.
Lives: she traveled around a lot. She was technically homeless.
Height: 4ft 11. All I remember is that she was short.
Weight: 101 lbs
Handedness: ambidextrous. Though, she slightly favoured the right hand more because that's what everyone else used.
Disorders/Disablities:
DID: she had several alters. Four all together. All protectors, discluding Olivia, the host.
Cyclothymia: a mild form of bipolar. They had mood swings between mild depression, and hypomania (a milder form of mania. Symptoms are: 'happy, euphoric, with a sense of wellbeing

Flaws: over thinks things, doesn't work well with Killer... scratch that, only works well with Olivia and Multi, thinks a bit too highly of herself.

Gender: gender apathetic. Unlike the others who just don't care, they literally don't see them self as a male, or female, or anything.

DoB: 7th August 1992
Sexuality: asexual

Height: 5ft 10 inches
Weight: 123 lbs
Handedness: left handed
Disorders/Disablities:
Selective Mutism: only talks to the other alters. No one else. She took on most of the abuse.
Abilities:

Blood type: never decided.

Traits: quiet, apathetic, calculated, rarely surprised, clever.
Likes: silence, being alone, talking to Olivia, seeing Olivia happy.
Dislikes: Olivia crying, Killer's murderous tendencies, Shadow's lectures, Shadow and Killer arguing
Fears: again, young me never gave them any fears.
Flaws: doesn't work well with anyone outside of the system, too quiet
Strengths: never forgives, not easily manipulated, witty

So, I have two ideas for redesigning her. Here, I'm gonna explain the both.

Option 1

Olivia still has DID, but I structure it differently. Maybe I'll add more alters, maybe not. I'd keep Olivia mostly the same, but I'd change a few things to make her more unique and mors real; at least, personality wise. However, plenty will be changed about the alters.

Olivia
Her new name would be Olivia Renee. I like the name Olivia (despite it meaning either 'olive branch' or 'elf army'. Strange meanings...), and Renee is a French name meaning 'Reborn'. It's because I'm remaking her, so she's reborn. She'd still, likely, be the host, but, to make it more interesting, I might make her not the original personality. I dunno.

Shadow
Her new name would be Zilla Renee. (I'm just giving all the alters the same last name). Zilla is a Hebrew name, meaning 'shadow'. I think it's a nice way to keep her original name to connect her to the original. I would make her a protector, seeing as it fits her the best. Her protection method would be to handle anyone who upsets Olivia, and to keep all them out of harm's way.

Killer
Her new name would be Daeva Renee. Daeva is an Indian name, meaning 'Evil Spirit', relating to her sadistic personality. I would probs make her an 'Avenger Alter'. 'Avenger alters – this dissociative identity disorder alter holds the rage from the childhood abuse and may seek retribution from the abuser. They tend to express the anger of the entire system and can be hostile'. While I may make her not quite evil, I am likely gonna keep the name, because I imagine the others could perceive her methods or motives as evil, seeing as the rest aren't gonna be that violent.

Multi
Their new name might be Minty Renee. Minty is a unisex, English name, meaning 'collector of thoughts, determined protector'. This fits them perfectly. Sure, Minty sounds a bit weird to me, but oh well. It could grow on me.

Option 2

Another option is to have them be siblings, maybe even quadruplets. After all, I've only ever made twin characters, never more. Heck, Olivia was a twin. She had a twin brother, named Luke. It could be an explanation as to why her family broke apart, seeing as it would be six children. Scarlet (eldest sister), Luke (an older brother), and then these four. They would still have the same names.

Maybe they could have all been left with an abusive mother, who either abused them all, or just selective ones. Probably would be selective, and would be Olivia and Daeva. It would explain why Daeva became so hostile and sadistic, wanting revenge on the world for how she was treated. Plus, it could be a contributing factor to Olivia's cyclothymia, seeing as it's causes are unknown, but are theorised to be a mix of genetic and environmental.
