~Backstory~

Born to science royalty, Sam Augustine had been wanting to be like his mother, the great Dr. Grace Augustineregarding the Avatar Program and his career in the RDA.

Determined to make his mother proud, Sam would serve in the RDA when he turned 18, joining the aircraft pilots and becoming a ground soldier on top of it, making him one of RDA's most flexible officials to ever serve.

Despite having some reluctance of helping his mom with the Avatar Program, knowing how much of a spitfire she happens to be, Sam would work out a deal with Col. Miles Quaritch and Parker Selfridge, who micromanages the program every five minutes due to his obsession for finding information for the public while taking all the credit, to work with his mom and be a soldier on the side.

In one conversation, Parker would be reluctant to let Sam work outside the premises to collect samples while remaining a human.

In said argument:

Parker: There's no why I'm gonna let some mama's boy go out there and collect some sacred bush in the name of whatever god they believe in.

Sam: Okay, first of all, it's not a god, alright? It's a fucking goddess named Eywa. You are just one of the most stubborn people I've ever met in my life. You think you know what you're talking about, but you don't.

Parker: So you expect me to believe that? If so, why don't we just send a couple of soldiers with you out there, try to get whatever evidence, and try to convince me that your goddess is real and it's not a hoax?

Sam: Could you ever be a bigger asshole?

Parker: I think so, but that's irrelevant.

Sam: No, it is relevant because I got more research in one of my farts than you ever had your life. You're shitting on what they believe in and you're lucky I'm not in charge of this operation because if I were, I'd send you out there and experience what it's like, but you don't got the balls to do it yourself.

That argument made Sam the most likable person in the Avatar Program, especially when he stood up for his mother, Norman, Max, and the newest recruit of the Program, Trudy Chacón, an RDA pilot just like Sam.

The two would have unbelievable chemistry as Trudy and Sam would talk aircraft and life back at home while Trudy was interested in the Avatar program as well.

Sam would offer Trudy a place while they go flying together in exchange, and Trudy agreed as they'd fly each other's SA-2 Samsons.

During this time, his mother, Grace, would start to believe that her son had chosen a very great friend to hang out with, but unbeknownst to her, Sam would start to fall for Trudy as a new recruit named Jake Sully would start to get involved.

How would Trudy react when she finds out that Sam is starting to have feelings for her?
