Alex (footage): I got no problem fighting anyone who wants to fight me. Alex Paul is a real fighter and I can rip anyone's eyeball out if they want me to because I'm the real deal and they're not!
Mike G: Alex Paul was the guy who would come into the cage, beat whoever was fighting him, and leave. He was known for being a no-nonsense guy.
Syuri (subtitles): I mean, you have a foreigner who would come onto our soil for the first time, going into the Pancrase cage, just beat down his opponent, lock in a submission, bend it in a way it doesn't naturally bend, tap the guy out, and it was so awesome!
Narrator: Alex "The Apostle" Paul was one of the most dangerous fighters to ever grace the octagon, but compared to his personality outside the cage, Alex was a different human being.
John Mac: He was a badass. I mean, he literally looked like he could rip someone's head off, but outside the cage, he would donate his earnings to any charity he supported, spend time with kids in the hospital, or grant a wish to a terminally ill patient. He was that kind of guy.
Logan: Not to mention that his YouTube channel was completely different from mine, where he did a lot of training sessions and was doing programs to help people either lose weight, how to fight, or to defend themselves.
Jake: Alex, he wasn't like other professional fighters. He just went in, did his business, and whether he won or lost, he always went out looking like one of the toughest sons of bitches on earth while keep giving back to the community.
Narrator: But his family outside of MMA nearly brought him to his lowest.
Logan: It was all a mistake. I mean, a lot of people make them, and he literally thought I've ruined his friendship with a Japanese girl.
Syuri (subtitles): That incident nearly ruined Alex-chan and I's future relationship, and I cannot sit here and say I forgive his brother for it.
Alex: I did consider quitting MMA right after what Logan had done. He ruined my relationship with Pancrase and he turned the entire country against me along with him.
Pamela: Alex had every right to be upset with Logan. And as much as I hate to say about my middle son, but he was stupid.
Gregory: He had no involvement of what Logan was doing on the other side of the world. It really did hurt Alex's credibility as a human being.
Dana: Alex Paul, say what you want about him, but regardless of the Japan incident, Alex is considered one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. What happened in 2018 was a war that he had to win.
Narrator: And it nearly ruined a friendship between the "Fil-Japanese Fighter" and "The Apostle".
Syuri (subtitles): I will tell you right now that I love Alex-chan. I love him so much, and despite what happened, what he did for my mother's funeral blew me away.
Alex: I know that I can't let all of this get to me because I know that if I do, I'll never be able to leave the world without paying the piper.
