~Story~
Born in the city of Brooklyn, New York, Pete Anderson is a third generation soldier, whose grandfather fought in the American Civil War, his father fought in the trenches of World War I, and was now looking to become a soldier in the US Army.
On December 7, 1941, the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, giving Pete more motivation to sign up.
When Anderson joined the Army, he was training endlessly, looking to kill anyone who was going to destroy his home country.
On June 6th, 1944, Peter and the 1st Infantry Division landed at the beaches of Normandy. Out of 2000 to 5000 casualties, Anderson was among the 38,250 who survived Omaha Beach, as Peter started to second guess himself as a soldier and what he could've done differently, but he knew there was no turning back as this was what he signed up for.
On during one of the bloodiest battles of the war, St Lo, Pete was separated from his squad, running away from the battle, not knowing if he was going to live or die.
When he was blasted from a shell from behind, a couple of Nazi soldiers, who spotted him, came over and looked to kill him, but out of nowhere, gunshots were heard and they were dead as quick as they walked over to shoot him.
As he tries to get a spin of things, a beautiful young French woman named Marie DuPont, helped him up and took Pete back to where her French resistance group was.
The Resistance was skeptical about what side Pete was on, but after realizing he was on the same side as them, they let him into their group, looking to fight back against the Nazis by:
- Sabotage and destroy the French railway systems
- Attack and destroy all Nazi ammunition warehouses across France
- Attack and destroy all power lines across France
- Attack and destroy phone lines in
France
- Attack German command posts
- Attack German fuel depots
- Sabotage the roads of France
Whenever there was time to stop and rest, Marie and Peter would stray away from the resistance by taking walks, having tea, and chatting, but over time, Marie starts to fall for Peter after a few weeks of fighting alongside each other against the Germans.
The question is, does he feel the same as her?
(A/N: Before I end this, just know that this is a fictitious story surrounding a real event where I will be telling the story from my perspective and the research I've done.
I also want to mention that there will be some references from my stories during my time as a Civil War reenactor, as I had to write down everything that I've seen and try to make it relatable to anyone who cares to know how it was.
So, yeah, I wanted to put this out and hopefully I get to make this story happen in the near future as I'm really excited to put this story together.
That's really about it.
See ya.)
