o3.| WHITE LIE

TIME WAS A VARIABLE THAT NO ONE COULD CONTROL. It was something that easily passed us by, or it slowed down to a point where we couldn't remember what we were doing. Time was an enigma that always made the mind think; made the mind wonder what it was that the soul was capable of doing. Sometimes, all people had was time, even if they thought that they were going to have a whole lot of it-until it was dwindled down to nothing. It only took one moment for time to mean absolutely nothing to some people, and that was where Jasmine found herself.

The woman knew that she only had a limited amount of time before she was going to see herself in a different light. She was going to be someone completely different and she wasn't ever going to completely understand what was going on with her-or what had happened to her. There were still things that she would've wanted to do with her life, but now that her life was limited to only a matter of days, weeks, maybe a month or so, she knew that she had to be quick. She knew that she was going to have to work better with what she was doing with her time before it was too late.

Jasmine inhaled deeply as she stood outside of the meeting hall. She folded her arms over her chest as she stood there, and she pressed her lips together tightly. It was only a matter of moments until Vision appeared at her side. She glanced up to the Android and she felt herself reaching to him. She took his hand in her own and she laced her fingers with her own. She squeezed his hand tightly. And she inhaled deeply as she stared into his eyes for a moment before the two of them glanced over toward the meeting hall.

Her dark hair was off of the nape of her neck and she glanced over all of the eyes that were brought to her. She tilted her head to the side as she stood at the front of the room. Her mind began to cloud with thoughts, and she knew that it was going to distract her from what she was going to do. Everything that she had to tell the Avengers was important regarding what was going on with her health, and she knew that if she didn't tell them, she was going to regret it. She was going to regret everything, and she couldn't just die knowing that she hadn't told the Avengers something so important regarding her health.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ She cleared her throat for a moment, and she nodded her head, "I know that it's very sudden that I called a meeting, but it's very important, just as all of the other meetings I have ever called are. This meeting contains information that I have discovered regarding my health and the decline of it," The Avengers in front of her began to glance at each other and she inhaled deeply. She glanced over to Vision for a second, and he gave her a small smile before she continued. "I know that I have said previously that I didn't think my family's condition would affect me, but it turns out it will."

The room was silent for a moment as the team in front of her began to take in everything that she said. Everyone began to process everything, and she knew that someone was bound to make a comment about what she had said. She knew that they were going to want to know what she had planned for herself, and she wished that she knew the answers to their questions.

She wished that she knew them herself.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "How long do you think you have?" Natasha questioned as she stared at the woman in front of her.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Jasmine turned her attention over toward the red-haired woman, and she offered her a sad smile, "I don't know. It all depends on the results that come back from the tests I just ran. At most? Perhaps a month. Maybe weeks."

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "Is there anything that we can do to help you?" Steve added as he glanced over everyone before his eyes landed on her again. "You've done so much for us; we want to be able to help you."

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "There has to be a way for us to help you," Steve's sister, Charlotte, continued as she nodded her head. The blonde-haired woman leaned forward against the table and she tapped her fingers against the table.

Jasmine pressed her lips together as she thought about the file that she had hidden away on her computer. She could tell them all about it, and they would not hesitate to convince her about it. They wouldn't stop until they. were able to convince her that it was what she should do to save herself. Jasmine knew that it was something that she couldn't do for herself. She wouldn't be able to live with herself if she had saved something like that for herself. But, just like everything else, she had a feeling that it would find its way into the public eye and that the Avengers would be able to find the file that she was hiding.

That wouldn't stop her from being able to hide it from them until they were able to piece it all together and figure out the lie that she was attempting to sweep under the rug. Jasmine held her hands in front of herself and she shook her head at them for a second.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "I haven't found a way, yet" Jasmine lied as she gave them a small smile. "Though, I'm sure that there is a way. I just have to dig far enough for the answer."

The dark-haired woman glanced over the room, and for the most part, she could tell that the answer she had given was good enough. But the longer that she looked over the room, there were a few of them that could see through the little white lie that she had told them. That they could tell that the lie that she was telling was something that she was attempting to cover something else with. Jasmine knew that she would've been able to lie to some of the team, but with the others, she knew that she would come up short.

Especially when one of them was Tony Stark.
