Chapter 88
He winced back as I felt him moving away. "Im sorry, Sammy," I whispered, but I saw him shaking his head lightly out of the corner of my eye.
"It had been different lately," he told me. "I know, Sam." with a sigh, I looked down at the note still in my hand. "Im just glad you're okay," he mumbled. "Yeah, me too," I whispered before looking out the window until we reached the bunker. After a bath, I looked into the mirror, seeing how skinny I was since all this with Kevin and the mark had been going on, getting me stressed out and not able to eat properly. Dressed in a loose shirt and sweatpants, I walked into the kitchen, and Sam was trying to make some eggs and toast. "Hey, I can do it." I carefully moved him to the side and took over, stirring the pan and the egg. Sam's phone rang, so he walked outside. He came in just as I finished preparing the plates with egg, toast, and some bacon, which I had quickly cooked up. "That smells good."
Sam sat down at the table on the opposite side of me. We ate in silence. When we finished, we cleaned the plates; while Sam did some more research, I sat on one of the chairs reading until I fell asleep, waking up with a very sore neck from the position of my head and a blanket draped over me. "Morning." Sam was sitting at the table reading from a book. "I fell asleep, didn't I?" I asked, and Sam gave me a light nod. "It's fine. I've been reading." Sam looked even more tired. "Hey, listen, get some rest. You look like shit." I said with a light eyebrow raised. "Thanks, Kaylee, so much for the info." Sam scoffed with a light smile while I got out of the chair.
After a few hours of reading from the books and trying to get information about human possession, Sam was back but not rested. "Find anything?" he asked when I heard him coming. "Nothing that could help us find Dean, but there might be a case in Wisconsin," I told him. Sam walked over and placed a coffee cup beside the laptop from where I had read the article. "Man mysteriously died a week ago as a John Doe, but his real name is Drew Nealy; he went missing in Northern Ohio," I told him. "Okay, that's odd. Maybe we should call Cas and let him know what's happening. Maybe he has an Idea?" Sam mumbled.
"When was the last time you talked to him?" I asked while Sam got his phone out. "I guess two days ago, he wasn't feeling so great." Sam dialed Cas's number. "Hang on, there is more." I turned back to the screen. Drew Nealy had been missing for three years; he killed his wife and kids and just disappeared." I looked up to Sam. "Maybe he was possessed," Sam suggested. "Possibly," I mumbled when I heard Sam and Cas talk while he repeated and stopped a couple of times, and when I looked with a questioning look, he motioned for me that Cas was coughing, which I understood. "I might have jumped the gun here, buddy. Kaylee and I can handle it," Sam said, making me turn my head. "Yeah, she's back healing. It might be good for her to get out." Sam said, telling Cas and giving me a light smile. "I was wrong. Sorry." Sam said that while he waited for Cas's reply, he turned his back to me. "We tried that," Sam mumbled, and I knew it had something to do with his shoulder. There was more, and I somehow heard from Cas that he missed Dean and would help when we got him back after Sam and I kicked his ass. "What do you think made him leave?" I asked. "Im not sure maybe he had a choice?" Sam asked for half of me and half of Cas. Sam listened to what Cas said before answering. "Im not sure; maybe it wasn't even close, Dean, anymore," Sam mumbled before listening and hanging up the phone. "We're going to Wisconsin," Sam told me to pack a bag, and we would head out immediately. When we arrived in Portage County, Sam drove to the Police station after a talk with the local sheriff. "So what are we dealing with?" I asked while the officer led us to a computer. "Self-defence, more or less. The surveillance footage got corrupted. Our techs cleaned the file up. Hang on." he clicked around on the computer until a video appeared on the screen. Sheriff explained what was happening when I noticed the other guy looking a lot like Dean, but his eyes were different. "Watch that." Sheriff pointed at the screen when the man looking like Dean jumped Drew and killed him with the first Blade. "I don't know what kind of Blade he used. Im not sure if he's a hero or a psycho." the sheriff mumbled as he stopped the tape on a close-up of a familiar face. Dean, I thought when I saw him. "You mind my partner and me taking another look at this?" Sam asked; the sheriff mumbled something and walked off when Sam sat on the chair with me close to him. Sam and I looked closer until Sam stopped at a close-up of Dean's face; when I looked closer at his eyes, I saw black eyes. "You think what im thinking?" I whispered. Sam gave me a nod. Sam and I left the police station and went to the store where the murder happened. While I looked around, I heard Sam and the kid behind the counter talk. When I walked up to them, I heard Sam take something from him, and when I looked closer, I saw that it was a phone. Sam walked out, so I followed him to where he dialed the last number on the phone. "You're Dead." I heard a familiar voice. "Nope, just using a dead man's phone," Sam answered.
