Chapter 87

Sam and Dean talked while I listened until Sam mentioned Gadreel, the only angel who could get us to Metatron, but he didn't say that we teamed up with him to break the connection between Metatron and the angel tablet. "What are we all gollywagging about? Chop chop." Crowley yelled from the car. "Shut up and let the grown-ups talk." I snapped back. "I have useful skills," he added, but we ignored him. Eventually, I found Metatron in a homeless community; Sam and I had been scouting, hoping that Cas was okay and able to get close to the angel tablet.

We drove to where Metatron was hiding. Sam and I walked around and finally found him. Sam and I returned to the Impala, finding Dean shaking; I knew both the blade and the Mark were doing this. We told Dean what we found. We knew it was now or never to get to Metatron. "Are you ready to gut this bitch?" Sam asked, and I was surprised to hear that. "Sammy," I said, surprised. Just as I turned to get my backpack, I felt a knock on the back of my head, knocking me out. I woke up from Sam's voice waking me up. "What the hell happened?" I asked, holding my head. "Dean knocked us out cold." Sam groaned. I turned my head to see where the camp was. "Dean."

I tried to get up, but my legs were shaking. "Careful, Sis." he helped me up, and we grabbed the weapons and ran off to find Dean, which we did in a warehouse behind the homeless camp. "Dean," I yelled as I saw Metatron with an angel blade in hand; from far away, we could see him stab Dean in the Chest. "Noo," I yelled, running even faster, but it was too late; Dean had a nasty wound without a chance to heal while I tried to catch up with Metatron, who was fast; Sam stayed with Dean.

My hunt was unsuccessful, so I returned to Sam and Dean, whom I met half the way on the ground. "Sammy?" I asked, worried, but I could see what had happened in his face. Sam looked up with tears in his eyes, shaking his head. I stood there, my hands up, covering my mouth, feeling the tears just streaming down my face. Sam carried Dean to the Impala to bring him home. Back at the bunker, I hid in my room, not wanting to come out and not knowing what happened outside the walls. I had surrounded myself until I woke up from the beeping next to me. I opened my eyes and saw that I was in the hospital, hooked up to machines and needles sticking out of me. I tried to sit up, but my body was sore, and I couldn't move. I turned my head, seeing my phone on the side table. I tried to reach for it, but my arm refused to work. "Oh, come on." I grumbled, and when I finally reached it, I saw a message from Sam. "he's gone, Dean, he disappeared. I didn't try to call, but it was still fresh. I didn't know how long I had been in the hospital, so I tried to call Sam, but he didn't answer, so I put the phone to the side when a nurse walked in. She checked on me before grabbing the doctor. "How are you feeling?" he asked me. "Not sure, better, I guess," I mumbled. "You've been out for ten days," he told me; I felt worse knowing it had been only almost two weeks since Dean died and disappeared. "You must be hungry. The nurse is getting some food for you," he gave me a light smile. "Thanks, doc." I smiled, finally free of the tube in my nose. The nurse brought me a tray with soup, a glass of water, and some bread. "You were severely dehydrated and underweight," she explained. "Yeah, I know I worked a lot lately," I mumbled while I tried to eat some soup, but my hand shook. "I can get you a cup if that's easier for you?" She was super polite, and just five minutes later, I had the cup in my hand, trying to drink the soup. I didn't hear from Sam for another few days until he finally called me. I was relieved to hear from him. I was still in the hospital until there was somebody to bring me home. "Can you get me home, please? I want to leave this place." I whispered into my phone. "Im on my way. Hang in there." Sam hung up while I got ready to leave, and the doctor made me sign out on my request. When Sam arrived, he had a beard, looked tired, and had his arm in a sling. "What happened to you?" I asked, slowly walking up to him, still in my hospital dress. "I'll tell you on the way. Come on, let's get you out of here." He quickly dressed and passed me my bag. "So what happened?" I asked as we got into my car. "A week after what happened, I found you in your room, not really here, so I brought you to the hospital, and then just a few days later, I got surprised by a monster dislocating my shoulder." Sam nudged his shoulder. "And Dean?" I asked, knowing it was a tough topic to talk about. "He left a note before vanishing, telling us to let him go," Sam said, passing me a note in Dean's handwriting. "You know I can't," I said after reading the note. "I know I have been searching, but nothing so far. Plus, I had to take care of you." Sam said."Sammy, Im okay, alright. I need to eat and rest a little." I placed my hand on his hurt arm.
