Mona
Over the next few weeks Jessica and the kids were able to settle in just fine at Sam's House. It was a quick adjustment. Sean and Olivia really enjoyed the new 'environment'. Living on the farm was lots of fun. But all together, they all enjoyed being together in one house.
Olivia and Sean spent lots of time on the farm. When Sean wasn't at work he would spend the day with Olivia and Sam helping out. Olivia was always helping. When Sam wasn't working they spent lots of their time at the barn. Olivia had loved the horses. Sam was starting to teach her how to ride. Living with Sam gave Sean and Olivia a great opportunity to bond even more with Sam. Jessica sat back and watched, and she found it to be so beautiful seeing them get along so well. It really warmed her heart.

It was a week after Jessica and the kids had finally settled in at Sam's. Jessica had taken a week off work while she was moving so it was her first day back.
When the day was over Jessica packed up her bags and headed back home. She walked through the lobby and down the long cement stairs alone. Out of no where, someone grabbed her shoulder. Jessica, she quickly panicked. Last time someone had done that to her in this exact spot, she had been hurt.
But thankfully, it was only Danny. Jessica was shocked to see him.
"Danny, what the hell!" She says, holding her chest.
"I'm sorry, I really didn't mean to scare you."
She breathes heavily and sighs.
"What are you doing here?" She asks
"I went to your house. Well I guess it isn't your house anymore. I was trying to look for you,
To talk. I didn't know you moved."
Jessica nods "Yes, two weeks ago. We are living with Sam. Why were you looking for me?" She says crossing her arms
He sighs "I've been meaning to talk to you..." he says
Jessica really just wanted to get home, but she felt like she should talk with Danny. He seemed like he needed it.
"... do you have time to maybe go sit down somewhere and talk?"
Jessica checks her watch and looks around. "I don't see why not. Want to walk over to the bakery up the block?" She says
"Sure."
Jessica and Danny awkwardly walk to a little bake shop not too far from Jessica's car garage for work.
They get a seat and sit down. Jessica texted Sam and told him she'd be a bit late coming home. She didn't tell him she was with Danny.
"I have been meaning to give this to you." Danny pulls out a white envelope and pushes it towards Jessica. She looks down at it than back at Danny.
"What is it?" She says
"Money, from my father... I was shocked at the reading." He says to himself
Jessica was confused why Danny was giving it to her. She had forgotten all about the will. Her heart began to race.
"Danny-"
"You don't need to say anything. It's fine... my dad, well he loved you."
Jessica sighs "You'd know I'd rather have him here instead of having this." She says
"I know, same goes for me."
It was quite for a moment. "I don't know what to do, Jessica."
"What do you mean?"
"With Sean and Olivia. He'll be leaving for college soon, Liv is turning sixteen. I just- I'm lost without them."
"I think you've hurt them, Danny. I have no control over what they do when it comes to this. Trust me, I want you in their life. You're their father, you love them. You made some mistakes, we all have. The point is, their teenagers, their stubborn."
"You want me in their life?"
"Of course I do. It makes me sad seeing you three not talk."
"What I did, the things I've done, I can't take them back. Sorry, it's lost it's meaning. I just hope you know that I hate myself for everything. Karma, it has really come back to bite me in the ass."
Jessica's face was blank, she just sat there, listening to the same old things. Each time Danny apologized he always messed up again. She wasn't going to be rude nor was she going to pitty him.
"As far as the kids go, I think it's up to you to make mends." Jessica says sternly
"You're right."
Jessica sighs and stands up. "I'm sorry, but I have to go."
Danny stands up with her. "Do you want me to walk you back to your car?"
Jessica shakes her head "no, I'll be fine. Take care." She says walking to the door.
"Wait, Jess-" he says
Jessica turns to him.
"Do you think Olivia would mind if I called her on her birthday?"
"I don't see why it would be a problem."
Jessica left the bake shop and headed to her car. For some reason, Jessica was so angry. Danny, he was always making excuses, always trying to get Jessica to feel bad for him or make her feel guilty. But she had enough. At first she blamed herself for them not talking to their father, it took her a while to realize it wasn't her fault, it was his. Danny hadn't spoken to the kids in months. Once they cut ties he never tried to work things out, which he should have. That's a main reason why Sean and Olivia don't want to speak to him, he never made an effort. Of course Jessica wanted them to all have a relationship, it was important. But on the other hand, Jessica was tired of them always being let down.

July 31st,
Olivia's Birthday-
It was Olivia's birthday. It was a big day for her because she was sixteen. It was crazy for Jessica to see her daughter all grown up. Sixteen was a big milestone in Jessica's eyes.
For her birthday Jessica was throwing a little sweet sixteen for her. All of her friends and family were coming to Sam's house. White House was closed for the day, so Sam was able to give all of his attention to the party, Olivia, and helping Jessica with planning. Sam had a big surprise for Olivia. Everyone knew about it expect her, Jessica couldn't wait to see the look on her face when she saw it.
Before her friends came over all of Jessica's family came earlier. They wanted to have their time with her before she was distracted by all of her friends.
"Happy Birthday! My sweet grand baby is sixteen!" Dorthy says cupping her cheeks.
Olivia smiles "Thanks Grandma." She chuckles
"How is it that you'll be driving!" Albert says
Olivia shrugs her shoulders. "I take my test tomorrow."
Jessica rolls her eyes "Hopefully someone brought me some drinks for when she's on the road." Jessica says nervously
"Don't worry, I got you, jess." Her brother George says
"Mom, it's not that bad!"
"Oh it is, Olivia. Sending your baby off onto the roads, alone, with stupid idiots everywhere, it's scary!" Jane says giving her a hug.
"She was a wreck when I started driving." Sean says
"Oh, Olivia will be fine!" Albert says
"Thank you grandpa."
Everyone mingles for a bit. Sam comes back from the barn and pulls Jessica aside.
"Hey, ready for the big surprise?" He asks
Jessica nods "Yes, I'm so nervous and anxious!"
"Don't be, she'll love It."
"Hey, Liv, come outside with me." Sam says
"Okay!"
Jessica turns to her family and they all smile. Everyone knew what was about to happen.
Everyone follows Sam and Olivia outside. He hands her a blind fold and makes her put it on.
"What's going on?" She asks
"I have a surprise for you."
Sam walks her to the pasture. He takes her up right to the fence. A friend of Olivia's who worked at the farm stood on the other side of the fence, holding the horse.
"Okay, you can take off the blindfold."
"I'm scared!"
"Just rip it off, Liv!" Ann yells
Olivia chuckles
She slowly takes off the blindfold. When she does, she starts to jump in the air.
"No way!"
"Surprise!" He says
"Sam, you're kidding."
"She's all yours, hun. Her names Mona."
Olivia covers her face and starts to cry. She was star struck over the beautiful white horse that stood in front of her.
Jessica teared up a bit seeing how happy she was.
"Thank you so much, sam! Thank you, thank you, thank you! This is the best gift ever!"
Olivia hugs Sam as tight as possible, crying in his arms. Sam, he started to cry as well.
All of her family cheered when they say how happy she was.
Jane pulls Jessica aside. "He's a great man, Jessica."
"I know..."

That day was filled with lots of happiness and laughter. Olivia had the time of her life with friends and family. They had an amazing celebration. Everyone really enjoyed themselves.
It was late at night and everyone was gone. Her and Sam were in the barn brushing off her horse. Olivia wouldn't be able to ride the horse yet since she needed to be trained.
"Sam, thank you again. This is a dream come true."
"Of course. I saw how well you were doing with Luna and Max I knew I had to get you one of your own. Now it's just time to get your mom and Sean on a horse."
Olivia brushes the horse and leaves a kiss on its nose. "Mona, you're so gorgeous!" She chuckles
"Your Mom says your a city girl, I don't believe her." He chuckles
Olivia shrugs her shoulders and smiles.
"Did you have a good birthday?"
"I did, it was the best day ever."
"That's good, I'm glad. Let me go get her stall ready real quick."
Sam walks over to the other side of the barn to open the horses stall.
When he comes back he sees Olivia on her phone. She looked very upset.
"Is everything okay?" He asks
She shakes her head. "My dad... he never called."
Sam was really angry. He hated how Danny was with his children. Seeing how much he hurt the kids and Jessica really just made him not like Danny. Hearing that Danny didn't even call to wish his daughter a happy birthday was terrible in his mind.
"I'm sorry, Liv."
"Not a call, text, nothing!" She says
Sam saw that she was on the verge of tears. He walks over to her and wraps his arms around her as she quietly sobs into his arms.
"He always lets me down! I want to have a relationship with him but he always ends up hurting me!"
Sam was speechless. He didn't know what was right or wrong to say in his position.
"Sam, you're like a dad to me. I'm really glad that I have you." She says in a shaky tone.
"You're like a daughter to me, Liv."
