House On Western Street

December 7th, 1999-

"Daniel, we can't afford this apartment anymore. What are we going to do?" Jessica starts to panic with an letter from the landlord in her hand.

"Jessie, you can't stress. It's bad for the baby... It will be fine. I'll take on an extra shift."

"This is bad for the baby! We won't have a place to live! They want us out before Christmas! You can't make that much money by then." Jessica starts to cry

"I'm sorry Jess, I thought we'd be able to afford this place." Danny sits next to Jessica and rubs her back.

"I'll get a job on campus, we can find a cheaper place."

"Babe, you are seven months pregnant. I don't want you working. School is enough already."

"I want to raise my baby in a home, not in a box Daniel!"

"All of our options are shit holes. We can't raise the baby in a shit hole."

"It's better than a box!"

"Why don't we ask our parents? I bet they would let us stay for a while."

Jessica tried to stand up, Danny then helped her up. Jessica shook her head. "No! I'm not asking them."

"Jessie, it's our only option."

"There isn't enough room at your parents house for a baby. And my parents... No, i can't, I won't!" Jessica says sternly

"it's either that or a shit hole. If we stay with your parents then we can have time to get on our feet and raise the baby instead of worrying about money."

Jessica looks at Daniel with watery eyes and shakes her head. "I feel so weak."

"Asking isn't a sign of weakness baby... They always said their doors were open."

December 10th-

"Of course you can live here. Oh Jessie, don't be afraid to ask!" Dorthy gives Jessica a kiss and hugs her.

"Only under one condition." Albert says sternly

Jessica got nervous

"Al, come on. She's our daughter!" Dorthy huffs holding onto Jessica's hand.

"No, listen...

You two focus on school and that baby. I don't want you guys worrying about money right now. We've got that. You aren't aloud to pay rent for the guest house. You live for free. I want you two to graduate and raise that bay right. Is that a deal?" Albert says sternly

"Dad, I can't ask to live for free. I'd hate that... no! I'm nineteen I don't want you supporting us. I really do appreciate it but I would feel too guilty." Jessica becomes embarrassed

"Jessie, we want to help you and make sure that money isn't a problem. Your a young mother, you don't need that stress." Albert says sternly

"Albert, at least let me pay something. I appreciate this offer, but it's too much." Danny says

"Maybe later on Daniel... Quit your job, take care of my daughter and grandson, and study hard. Get a summer job. Once the baby is older you can work. For now, just worry about family." Albert smiles

Jessica starts to cry hysterically. She stands up and wobbles over to her father giving him a hug.

Albert takes Jessica's hand and holds it tight. "I want you to be happy and stress free. I can't let you worry about money. I want you to stay as long as you need. I only want the best for my little girl and her little boy."

"Thank you so much mom and dad. I couldn't be more grateful and appreciative."

"We love you Jessie.... I'll help you move your stuff into the guest house. We can set up a nice little space for the baby too!" Dorthy smiles

January 4th-

Jessica and Danny were settled in and had been living with Dorthy and Albert for a while.

Jessica and Danny laid in bed feeling their baby kick.

"What a strong one!" Danny chuckles feeling around Jessica's belly.

"heh! I know... I just wish that we could raise him in a nice home like all the other moms and dads."

"We aren't like the other moms and dads, we're better."

Jessica giggles, then lets out a deep sigh.

"Hey, don't be discouraged." Danny rubs her arm

"I'm not..."

"I'm going to make you a promise. You know that house on Western Street, the white one that you love so much?"

"Yes... What about it?"

"I'm going to buy it for you the day it goes on the market. It will be ours. We will raise this little boy in that house on Western Street."

"Oh Danny..."

"I promise. I'm going to give you the best life and make your dreams come true."

Jessica and Danny lived in the guest house connected to Jessica's parents house for six years. When Sean was seven months old, Danny started working again and saved up money for a future home. This was all while raising a new baby and going to med school. It was all overwhelming but they did okay. Every time Jessica and Danny would try to give Albert money he would never cash the checks. By time Sean was two, Jessica got an internship at a local law firm and started to work. Dorthy and Albert loved Jessica living at home so they could see their grandson. They loved helping. Jessica hated living for free and taking so much from her parents, Danny did too. The fact that they couldn't support themselves made them sick. But they always told them to not worry about it.

6 years later, Sean was six and their daughter Olivia was four. Jessica and Danny had just graduated and started their new jobs. Jessica worked at the D.A's office in Minnesota and Danny worked at a physical therapy center. After working for a while they were finally back on their feet. Danny lived up to his promise and bought Jessica the beautiful Western Street house she always wanted in a nice neighborhood. They were so happy to live on their own and support themselves. It was hard for the kids to live away from Dorthy and for Dorthy to not see her grandkids everyday. Albert and Dorthy knew that Jessica and Danny needed to do this for themselves and for their family.

April 12th, 2006

"Danny, I can't believe it. We are home owners."

Danny looked at Jessica then picked her up spinning her around in their beautiful, green, lawn. Jessica's floral summer dress twirled in the air. Her blonde curls bounced around. Her smile made Danny smile.

"Danny!" Jessica giggles

Danny brings her down then lays her down on the grass. He keeps kissing her. She giggles uncontrollably.

"Our neighbors are going to think we are crazy sex animals!" Jessica pushes Danny away and smiles

"That's because we are!" Danny digs his face into Jessica's chest.

The movers smile as they bring furniture into the house.

"This is our house, our lawn, our property, our grass, our trees... Ah Jessica it's all ours." Danny and Jessica sit in the grass admiring their beautiful home.

"Ahhh, It's ours. Thank you Danny..." Jessica takes his hand and kisses it.

"I promised you, didn't I?"

"You did. I couldn't have done this without you and my parents. How did I get so lucky?"

"Jessica, I love you and our beautiful children so much. I fall in love with you more and more each day. I'm the luckiest man alive."

Jessica tears up. She runs the back of her hand down Danny's cheek and kisses him.

"Alright Danny, let me show you how to work the water heater!" Albert calls from inside

Danny stands up and Jessica holds onto his chest.

"I better go, a home owner needs to know this kind of stuff." Danny chuckles

"Alright Mr. Homeowner."

"Jessie, I love this house!" Dorthy walks out of the front door with Olivia in her arms and Sean walking beside her.

"I love this house. Mom, did you see the tire swing and the pool? Come look!" Sean grabs onto Jessica's hand pulling her.

"Mommy, I want to swim." Olivia cries reaching for Jessica. Jessica takes Olivia from Dorthy's hands and swings her around.

"My gorgeous girl, it's not swimming season." Jessica giggles

"I love it here." Sean smiles

"I wanna go home." Olivia pouts.

"Sweetie, we are home. This is our new home."

"No more grandma Dorthy?" Olivia's eyes fill with tears

"Oh, you're too beautiful to cry missy! I'll come visit all the time. I promise." Dorthy pinches Olivia's cheeks and smiles

"Good! We can have sleepovers."

"That's right, and you can visit whenever you want, my doors are always open."

"Liv, lets go play!" Sean says

Jessica sets Olivia down. "Be careful you two!"

The kids run off. Jessica stands in the middle of her front lawn and smiles. She looks at her mother who was crying. Jessica wraps her arms around her mother. "Thank you for everything, mom."

"Oh sweetie, can't you live with me forever?" Dorthy sniffs then wipes her tears.

"Mom..."

"I know, I told you I wouldn't cry. I'm just going to miss you and the kids so much!"

"You and dad deserve not having to take care of us. If it weren't for you two I wouldn't be moving into my dream home."

"I love you... I'm so proud."

"Thank you..."

"You got your house on Western Street, didn't you?"

"Who knew that it would be on sale at the prefect time. I always loved this house."

"You and Danny deserve this."
