5 minutes later-

"Sorry I'm late, I got held up at work." Danny says running into the office.

Jessica stands up and rolls her eyes.

"Are you two ready than?" The secretary says

Jessica nods

As they begin to walk Danny whispers into Jessica's ears.

"I'm sorry"

Jessica shrugs and walks ahead.

"Hello Jessica and Danny, I'm Megan Daniels." The doctor says shaking their hands.

"Hi, nice to meet you." Danny says

"Nice to meet you." Jessica smiles then sits down.

Danny sits next to her, but he distances himself from Jessica. Jessica looks over at him then sighs.

The therapist pulls out her pen and paper and smiles at the both of them.

"So, what brings you here today?" She says softly

Danny and Jessica look at each other. She saw that Danny wasn't going to say anything, so Jessica started.

"Our marriage has changed a lot over the last few months. I ways that I just don't think are right. My marriage doesn't feel like a marriage." Jessica says breathlessly.

"Alright... Well my goal is to help you two through this rough time. Usually with clients I like to have one session a week. Sometimes I will just as for one of you or both."

Danny huffs and crosses his arms. Jessica looks at him and rolls her eyes.

"Will that be okay?" She asks

"We can work something out with our work schedules." Jessica nods

"I would like to spend today just asking you questions. Do you mind if I begin."

"No, go ahead."

"How did you two meet?"

Jessica looks at Danny, motioning him to start speaking.

"Freshman year of high school. We started dating after homecoming." He says

"So, was that off and on, or have you two been together since."

"Together since, twenty years."

"Wow, that's a long time. When did you get married?"

"Fourteen years, fifteen on the twenty second." Jessica says

"So, you married young I presume?"

Jessica and Danny nod.

"Jessica got pregnant at nineteen."

"So, you have a child?"

"Two, Sean who is sixteen, Olivia is fourteen."

"You two have been through a lot then. You have each other, a family, and you've been together for a long time.

Now Jessica, you said that things have changed. In what way?"

"Danny is just very distant. We both work, and our hours are crazy. But when we are home together we barely talk. He hasn't been very affectionate either. When I brought to his attention that things weren't the same, he started being more affectionate. We agreed to change things. His version of change is sex, but that wasn't exactly my version."

"Jessica, you said we hadn't done it in four months, then when we start doing it you complain."

"That's not it Danny. We have more problems then not having sex. We never have conversation, you never want to spend time with me, and you are always out with friends. Even our kids have noticed a change!"

"People around you are starting to notice?"

"Yes. A year ago we were a tight nit family. We had family vacations, family nights, sit down dinners, and everything else that family's do. It just all changed so much." Jessica was on the verge of crying. She covered her face.

"Our kids are teens. Their idea of fun doesn't involve spending time with us."

"I understand, but because of us we are drifting as a family."

"You are overthinking this." Danny huffs.

"Danny, you seem to be pushing away Jessica's feelings." Megan says

"I'm not, Jessica just acts like I don't try and that I don't care, but I do care. I love her." Danny looks at Jessica who wouldn't make ur contact with him.

"What is your martial status at the moment?"

"Married" Jessica says

"Have you two ever thought about taking a break, or separation?"

"No, because these last few months have been like a separation."

Jessica and Danny left. He walked her out to the car, and Jessica was quite. Their first session was over. Jessica had so much anxiety. Her marriage had come to an all time low. She hated the feeling of everything drifting.

"So, I'll meet you at home?" Danny says opening Jessica's car door.

"I guess. I took off for the rest of the day." Jessica says

"Alright... well I have a few more patients then I'll come home. Do you want me to pick up Olivia from practice?"

"If you don't mind."

"Okay..."

Jessica gets into the car and looks at Danny who was discouraged.

"I didn't mean for it to get like this." He says softly.

"Me neither"

Jessica slams the door and starts the car.

When she got home she felt very down. She didn't feel like doing much.

When she got home she saw Sean's car parked in the driveway. She brightened up her spirits so Sean wouldn't see her upset.

When she walked in she saw Sean and a girl sitting on the couch, making out.

Jessica cleared her throat to get his attention.

He quickly moved away from the girl and looked at Jessica was a red face.

"Sean, who is this?" Jessica says setting down her bags.

"Ma, this is um... a friend of mine. Her name is Marie."

"Hi Mrs. Huston. I'm Marie, sorry you had to meet me like this." She says, standing up.

Jessica walks over to her and shakes her hand.

"It's nice to meet you, sweetheart."

"Sorry mom. I should have asked to have a girl over."

"It's fine..." Jessica says

"I think I should get home..." Marie says fixing her hair.

"Do you want me to come with you?"

"I can walk myself."

"Do you live in the neighborhood?" Jessica asks curiously.

"Yea, we just moved here." She smiles

"Ohh, very nice." Jessica says

"Well, thank you. Have a nice day." she says

Once she left Jessica walked back into the living room. She was to upset with other things to get too mad at Sean.

"Mom, I'm sorry! I didn't know you would be home."

"What have I told you able bringing girls home?"

"I know, it was wrong. I shouldn't have hid it from you."

"That's right. You're sixteen, I get it. You want to get out there and date. Just make sure you talk to me before you bring a girl home. I don't want you alone in the house."

"It's not like I was going to have sex."

"I get that."

"It won't happen again."

"Do you like her?"

"Kinda...

Aren't you going to ground me?"

"No" Jessica sighs and walks out of the living room.

Sean follows her, he noticed something was up.

"Are you okay?"

"I'm tired. I had a long day."

"Is that why you left work early."

Jessica paused. She didn't plan on telling the kids about marriage counseling.

"Yes" Jessica nods

"Oh"

"Why don't you go get ready for work?" Jessica turns around

"Okay" Sean sees Jessica pour a glass of water and go outside.

Jessica sat outside for a while, just thinking. Things kept going through her head. She wondered what would happen now. If this marriage counseling would work or not. She questioned what would happen if it didn't, how her life would change so much.

She dousing help but think that she should just end things and save the heartbreak, but she had to have faith that maybe there was still a chance.

When Olivia and Danny got home, Jessica was sitting on the couch reading.

"Hey mom!" Olivia comes running over to the couch and hugs Jessica from behind.

"Hi sweetheart, how was practice? And why are you all wet?" Jessica sets up and gives Olivia a funny look.

"We jumped in a lake today after practice, in honor of our first event coming up!"

"Ahh, that's right. Are you ready?"

"Yes, so I can set some PR's!"

Jessica smiled then moved the hair out of Olivia's face.

"Honey, I'm sorry for lashing out yesterday."

"It's fine. I don't want to talk about it."

Jessica nods and smiles.

"Go dry off for dinner, okay?"

Danny walked in and set his stuff down.

"Hey" she says

"Hi" Danny walks over and sits down on the couch.

"Danny..."

"Yea?"

"Do you even want to do this anymore? You seemed so upset today."

"Jess"

"Honest answer"

"Yes, I want this."
