Magic
Toukenai POV
Yato was mildly dazed, but after he snapped out of it, he thanked me. We walked back to Hiyori's house, and Hiyori said I could sleep on the guest futon. I walked into the room and sighed. My hoodie was clean, but tattered. Yukine came into the room. He was carrying a hoodie. He gave it to me and
"I hope you don't mind me asking, Toukenai-sama, but how did you do that?" Yukine's big eyes were filled with wonder. "Was that-"
"Yes, magic. Like from my legends. My magic is so much stronger than the other gods because I am the ruler of the spirit world, and the only one who directly draws power from phantoms. Though, as you saw, I am part regalia. I am about 5/9 God, 3/9 regalia, and 1/9 phantom."
"Spirit world?" Yukine seemed puzzled. "I thought there were only three worlds: Takamakahara, the mortal world, and the underworld."
"Yes, that's what most gods think, but there are two more. The spirit world, and the world you travel through when Yato teleports. The spirit world is called Tōi kishi, or more commonly, The Far Shore. The other world is called Kūhaku no sunpō, or blank dimension, simply because there is nothing there, and because the gods can manipulate the 'reality' there. It is a form of transportation, and a place for gods like me to hide out." I sighed.
"Interesting." Yukine looked pleased. "Thank you for teaching me, Toukenai-sama"
"Please, Yukine, just call me Toukenai." I smiled at him. "You remind me so much of Yukanai."
"Who's that?"
"My old regalia."
"Where is she?"
"She was killed because she corrupted me to the point that I couldn't stop the spirit world from bleeding into our own world."
"Oh." He looked at the floor. Yukine was so innocent, almost like a fawn. "Well, I've got to keep up my studies with Hiyori. I'm just on a break. Bye, Toukenai!" He walked out the door.
"Bye, Yukine!" I walked to close the door, and saw that Yato was sitting outside it.
Yato POV
I was listening to everything that Toukenai taught Yukine in those few minutes. I liked the kind of god that Toukenai was- unknown, but yet willing to lift that veil of mystery.
"W-what are you doing here?" She looked at me, puzzled. "I thought you had a quick job?"
"Yes, but I'm back now."
"Yato?"
"Yes?"
"Can I trust you?"
"Of course."
"Come, I want to show you something." she held out her hand. I took it and then felt a jolt of magic enter my body. It wasn't painful, just relaxing. It felt like getting out of a pool after swimming for hours. Just relaxing and happy. Then my vision went all white as she pulled me through the fabric of time.
"W-where are we?" I had to shield my eyes. It was so bright where we appeared.
"We are in the Kūhaku no sunpō."
