--= Preston's + POV =--

Breaths sputtered out of me as my eyes shot wide open. Bolting up from lying down on the cold hard surface I keeled over as my heart refused to beat.

Scrunching my eyes shut as I wheezed and gasped for breath my arms slammed against the surface in frustration as my eyes watered. Taking in the surroundings I could see the charred branches and floor.

Black swirling around me I scrunched my eyes, trying to see through the dark I felt cold slush into my mouth as I continued trying to gasp. Seeing bubbles float out of my mouth I stiffened.

Water?

Raising my arms slowly, I furrowed my eyebrows I pushed myself upward to feel the cold surface push away from me as I floated closer to the black that was dancing.

Eyes wide as I stared at the pitch dark above of me I kicked my legs to boost myself even further. Raising my arms above of me, I pushed my arms down as the moon came into view.

The moon glistening high away from reach I shot upwards as the water trickled down my head and body as my wings spread out wide, shadowing the water as red and blue dripped off my body.

Glancing down to see the river covered in ash and soot my expression softened to realize it was the burnt down part of the forest. Heat radiating on my stomach, it flexed in pain as I gasped.

Peeking downwards to scan my body I noticed a huge gash inside of my stomach. Softening my gaze, I flapped my wings hurriedly.

 Panic spreading inside of my veins as I bolted through the sky my eyes scanned precisely, searching for the others. Trying to find any hint or clue where they might be I couldn't find anything. 

Biting my lip, I picked up my pace as I cringed, feeling more blood slush out of my body and drop into the woods below me.

The breeze flowing through my hair as my vision slowly dimmed round the edges, nerves rushed inside my veins as my heart accelerated, picking up it's pace.

"I need to find them..." Time sapping away almost as quickly as the crimson oozing out of me I kept soaring through the endless ashes, searching for green.

Teeth grit, a grimace on my face as I jolted around, I saw the flicker of a flame in the bushes of green. Eyes widening, I dove down quickly towards the flame.

Desperation sinking into every inch of my skin as the red floated around the sky. Arms lifting above my face as I reached my hands out I noticed a figure standing by the fire.

His sweet, brown eyes staring at the moon in wonder, I called out his name as he whipped around to stare at me.

 His eyes wide as tears dripped from the sides of his face he screamed as he outstretched his arms open wide. Jumping into his embrace Rob twirled me around screaming in joy.

Water dribbling out of my eyes I held tightly onto Rob, my wings spreading wide above me as I sucked in a shaky breath.

"I missed you so much." Burrowing my face into his shoulder he held me tightly. Rob cooing words into my ear I felt him stiffen as his hand placed itself on my stomach.

Pulling away to stare at his hand I glanced to see his hand soaking and dripping in blood. Rob staring at me in shock I forced a smile on my lips, huffing out a breath.

"I don't know what they did. I'm just happy I made it to you guys." Black covering more and more of my vision Rob's shouts of alarms faded away as I felt the world spin around.

Staggering with my hands on my head I slipped down onto the ground as my feet crumpled below me as my body lied down on the floor.

I wish I just got here sooner.
