Chapter thirty

Autumn's POV

Eating lunch with the others, Autumn sat picking her food. With Lily here, it made it scary. A child her age should not be here, especially this long. She doesn't want this child to die. Poor girl has no idea what's going on.

Finally, Autumn eats her lunch as everyone else is finishing up. Eating her last bite, Autumn and the others headed down to the library to play poker. Lily sat on her father's lap picking out the cards for him. More like pointing.

Handing out the cards that are needed. Autumn drank some of her water. As it's just the three of them, it gets easier to keep track. As from before with six, it got hard to keep track of all of them. Although they were together, sometimes one person left and bad news happened. Placing down her final cards, Makayla took that chance and placed her final cards down.

Daniel did the same.

Winning the game, Daniel shuffled the cards

"Daddy, I've got to go to the washroom?"

"Do you know where it is?"

She shook her head.

"It's just down that way-" pointing towards the front flower- "turn to your right and the bathrooms should be there."

"Okay."

She got off your lap walking towards the door. "Do you want me to come with you?"

"No thanks."

"You have a cute daughter." Makayla said, watching her struggle to open the door. She got up to open her hearing a thank you from her. "Thanks, she's a good kid." He said dealing out the cards. Makayla sat back down as Daniel finished with the cards. Picking up their hands, they began. Each one of them placed down their cards.

Kyra's POV

Walking down into the gym to grab a basketball. As Jaydon went outside to the basketball court and waited, I grabbed a ball from the gym heading out to the foyer. As I came out of the gym, a little girl came out of the washroom.

"Hey, where are you going?" she asked. I turned to her saying that I'm off to play basketball.

"Can I come, please."

"Umm . . . sure."

"Okay, let me tell my dad."

Right, she came with her dad. I walked with her to the library where they played their adult games. "Daddy, can I go with her?"

"If it's okay with her."

"It's completely fine. Jaydon and I are just outside playing basketball, she can watch, maybe shoot baskets if she wants."

"Okay, but you listen."

"Yay!"

"Kyra?" My mom said. I turn to her, "watch her."

"I will mom."

"Thank you."

Going through the library doors, I waited for her to come out. "Look who we have here."

I pass the ball to Jaydon as he amuses the kid. "What's your name?" he asks.

"Lily."

"Nice to meet you, Lily. I'm Jaydon and this is Kyra." He knelt down shaking her hand.

"Wanna play basketball with us?" I ask.

"Sure."

Jaydon passes the ball as Lily bounces it. "Can you throw it in the basket?" Jaydon askes. Lily picks up the ball, takes it over, bounces a couple times before shooting the ball, missing.

"Nice shot." Jaydon says. Walking over, he runs to get the ball. "Nice try." I encourage you.

"Almost." Jaydon shot the ball where he stood, getting into the basket. "Wow!" Lily's so amused. "One day, I would want to get a basket in."

"I'm sure you will." I promised. "One day."

For an hour, we shot baskets, letting Lily try some more, then she sat over by the wall watching us play a little game. Lily cheered for us both even if we were versing each other. It was great having someone to cheer for us.

At some point in the hour, we taught Lily how to use a ball and shoot. It was a fun afternoon. AT some point, Jaydon lifted her up to the basketball hoop letting her get the basket.

"Yay! I got a basket!"

"You did!" we cheered.

Izzy's POV

Sitting around the outer circle with her friends, Izzy and them are playing two truths and a lie. Taking turns saying what's the truth and the lie. Since lunch, they've been playing games to keep them busy. "Okay, okay. My turn." Vivian replied. Thinking, a light bulb went off of her.

"I went to Alaska for two years. I went sky diving twice. And I lived in California until I was seven."

She let everyone think about it before saying, "who thinks number one?"

Daylon raised his hand. "Who thinks number two is a lie?"

Izzy and Cory raised their hands.

"Number three?" Kylie raised her hand.

So sadly it wasn't the first one, nor was it the third. It was the second. I've never gone skydiving twice, I went four times."

"Woah, how did it go?" Izzy, Cory and Kylie asked.

"It was fun. I would love to go again."

Just then the phone rang. Izzy's phone. Picking it up, she put it on speaker. "Hello?"

"Hello, Izzy." A rough voice answered. "What do you want?"

"What I want is for you to be careful. Making sure that you are behaving yourself. It would be a shame if something were to happen to you. Although, at the same time, it wouldn't be a shame. I heard that you are being rude to people. If I were you, I would watch my back and beware of my surroundings."

Then the phone clicked off.

Everyone in the gym went silent. Shocked, terrified. Everyone was paralyzed as not a sound lingered in the gym. Just the slightly heavy breathing. Soon enough, Izzy screached. The four of them jumped as Izzy chucked her phone across the room. Petrified that the killer would say that. "I need to be alone for now." Izzy got up, picked up her phone as she walked out the gym. Entering the purple pod, she swifty made it to her room, locking herself. Izzy won't come out until morning, whether she's got to starve herself. Scared to death Izzy won't let that killer get near her. Izzy will live to the end of the two weeks, if it means that she's going to starve herself, only coming out when eating and bathroom breaks. She is going to win.

Sacrificing others to win will be her move.

Makayla's POV

Eating dinner in the fine evening, Lily had to go in twenty minutes. So Daniel got her ready as she finished her meal. Daniel getting a text from whoever is picking Lily up. Soon enough, they were off. Saying goodbye to his daughter was the cutest thing. She gave us each a hug, then went to hug Jaydon and Kyra.

By the time Daniel came back, which was twenty minutes, everyone left it was just Autumn and I washing dishes. Coming in, the dishes that were set in the dish rack he put away to speed things up. After the dishes, the three of us went to the music room for the first time in a long time. Stepping foot into the music room already set off memories from the last time I was in here.

-

I stopped by the music room to see if Evan or Andrew had died. Yes they have. They were hanging from the ceiling with their bodies cut open. There was a puddle of blood underneath them and blood dripping from their bodies. They were hanging from ropes. Well only Jacob and Easton left then the people I hate are gone. It scares me to think that the murderer that I saw last night must have done this. Although he was wearing all black, I could make out a few blood stains on his hoodie.

"Hey."

I jumped and looked to see who it was. Kylo.

"Um... hi."

"I see that the murder struct two people last night and left behind a massive mess."

"Yep. I guess he did."

"Did you hear any screaming last night, because I know I didn't."

"No I didn't."

"Not talking much, huh?"

"Yes I guess I'm not."

Kylo was is so calm about this, yet the expression on his face makes me suspicious.

"Anyways, want some breakfast? It's on me."

"Thanks, but I've already eaten."

"Ahh."

We stood there for about ten minutes looking at Evan's and Andrew s bodies, just hanging there.

"I wonder why they're just hanging around."

"Haha very funny, Kylo." I say sarcastically.

"Hahaha. Come on that was a very funny joke."

"Alright. I'll admit it was funny." I say smiling.

-

Everything set off, the lights flicked off and all we could see was Evan and Andrew 's lifeless body hanging from the ceiling. The crime scene is exactly the same as it was when I found it years ago. The screaming came from them as it echoed through the room. Seeing this again sent chills running down my spine and adrenaline zipping through my system.

"Remember this Autumn?"

"Yeah, yeah I remember it. It horrified everyone."

"I was the one who spotted it, then Kylo came, told a terrible and inappropriate joke. I mean it was funny but at the wrong time."

"What was the joke?" Daniel asked, glancing at me.

" 'I wonder why they're hanging around.' It's something between those lines."

"That is a bad joke at a bad time." Daniel said.

"I remember his expression is so calm, I believed he was the killer."

"We all did, until I got attacked by Ethan."

"He didn't tell us that he was the killer until a couple years later when we were in high school. We were getting picked on when he blew up in front of everyone at lunch, they knew and they stayed well away from us. No one teased or picked on us throughout the years."

It was amazing that a friend so innocent turned murderous on us. And all those people who died won't know who killed them. Same with these people. They don't know who's killed them.

-

Later that night, I read in my room by the window, the sun is slowly falling into darkness. The light is on as I'm in my pyjamas. Once I finished a chapter of my book, I set it aside getting ready for bed. Heading to the bathroom, I brush my teeth and go to the washroom, then walk back to my room. Switching off my light, I walk the couch and curl into the warm blanket.

Soon enough, I fell into a deep sleep.
