Chapter eleven

Autumn's POV

She woke up late that morning really tired. Deciding to wake up, she slowly crawled out of bed, got dressed and left to see if the others were in the foods room. Walking through the hallway, she meets up with Kyra and Jaydon. She made contact with Kyra, welcoming each other with a greeting smile.

Autumn kept on walking to the foods room. Walking in the room, no one was there, going to get a banana, she walked out. Eating it, everyone swarmed inside of someone's room in the green pod. She enters the room. Autumn somehow missed them when she walked in. shocked, Autumn almost choked on her banana. "What happened?" she asked Daniel.

"A kid got stabbed n multiple places and died from bloodlost."

She spots Jaydon moving over to the dead body with the blood dripping and the puddle almost drying up. Everyone is horrified. Autumn threw her banana in the trash can at the door, losing her appetite. "Poor kid," she said under her breath. Autumn is about to vomit, ready to run to the washroom. Walking out of the room, she headed to the bathrooms, locking one of the stalls and vomited right in the toilet.

Flushing the toilet, she wiped her mouth on the back of her hand, sitting there before getting up to rinse her mouth in the sink. She's never seen something so disgusting in her years of living, or in years. Standing over the sink, Autumn looked at herself in the mirror. At least she lived the second night. Leaving the bathroom, Makayla walked toward her. "Morning Autumn. How are you?"

"Good and you?"

"Good. Are you feeling okay?"

"Yes I'm perfectly fine, just threw up from the murder."

"Ahhhh, okay," she replied nodding her head.

"Want to go walk around the school and chat? I'm bored and need my mind off from the kill."

"Sure."

They walked outside the school around it, taking in the fresh air and the sun shone down on them. Autumn talked about her work and life from the last time they saw each other, which was a while ago. Makayla talks about her family and all the things that happened in the past twenty seven years. Autumn missed her friend so much, and the others as well. Walking around the school, they made it to the front, parking at the front entrance. Sitting on the benches in the school, they continued to talk about grown up things.

With her around, Autumn will live for sure, but what about the other adults?

Daniel's POV

He sat with Kylo and Ethan talking about the kills now, and comparing them with his time at Woodhaven and with their time in the killings when they were here last. "Our killer would do serious and gory crimes. Almost like this." Kylo Exclaimed.

"It gave us serious nightmares, to the point where I couldn't sleep for several nights." Ethan said feeling the horror all over again, like deja view.

"Mine . . . when I was the killer, I didn't do the gory kills. It grosses me out. I just did simple kills. So I would see why you would get nightmares, and be traumatized."

"It was." Kylo said under his breath.

Sitting in silence for a few minutes not knowing what to talk about next. "You're not a killer, are you?" Ethan asked, leaning forward in his chair, folding his hands together on his lap. "No, I don't have the heart to kill again."

"Hey boys. Come to join you." Samantha walks in on them in the green pod and sits right beside Ethan.

"So, what are you talking about so I can join in?"

"Comparing killings from our experience to his." Ethan said.

"Oh yeah, it still haunts me to this day, and adding onto this," shaking her head, she continues, "it will haunt me for the rest of my life until death."

"Don't speak too soon. Who knows, maybe you're next tonight." Kylo replied.

"I don't want to be. I would like to go home and live my life, like that person promised."

"I still don't know who that is, but I recognize the voice, and it bothers me." Daniel replied. It's been nagging him for the past couple of days. "I feel like I know the person, not by heart, but just know. Like I've met him before."

"I'm sure you'll find who it is." Ethan said.

"Hope so."

Something about this makes him very uneasy as Daniel doesn't like it. He could tell that the others are exchanging glances of worry. Something about that voice on the recorder sent shivers down his spine. And still is. "Who do you think is going to die next?" Samantha asked after a few minutes of silence.

"I don't know, but I don't want it to be me." Daniel said.

"Neither do I." Samantha replied.

"So, Daniel, how's Maya and Lily?" Kylo asked changing the subject immediately from the cruel subject from before..

"Good, Lily wanted to come and I had to explain to her the nicest way without scaring her, that she couldn't come."

"Aww." they all say.

"I had to hold her the night before."

"Aww. poor girl."

"Other than that, they're doing great. Glad they're not here right now or I wouldn't know what to do."

"Well, if you survive, they will be waiting at home for you." Kylo comfortably said, touching on the subject.

"Yeah, if I live."

Jaydon's POV

He and Kyra went out into the far field, where the baseball diamond was. Walking around, talking and laughing. He loved every bit of it. Jaydon enjoyed that they are friends and that he's not with Izzy and them. He doesn't want to die. He loves her smile and her presence.

"So . . . what do you want to talk about?" she asked, stopping in her tracks and glancing up at him. "Umm . . . I don't know, whatever you like to talk about is fine by me." he smiled a weak one, but showed that he cared. "It's up to you." he said as friendly as possible. He doesn't want to scare her away. "Come sit."

She pulled him over to a bench and sat. "So, tell me . . ."

"Tell you what?"

"I don't know . . . something, anything."

"Well . . ." he scanned the sky trying to think of something. "No sorry . . . can't think of anything." he said, looking back down at her with squinted eyes. She leaned back against the bench, relaxing. "Isn't it nice?" Kyra said with a sigh. "Yes it is nice."

"Hi Jaydon."

Hearing a familiar voice made him rage inside, but still calm to not show it. Turning his head towards the hill, same with Kyra, Izzy comes down the hill and smiles so brightly. "Hey, Jady."

"Please don't call me that. You know I hate that nickname."

"Whatever. Anyways, all of us kids are playing truth or dare. I was going to text you but you wouldn't answer, so . . . you can come play with us too, Kyra."

"No thanks."

"No?"

Jaydon shook his head. "Not interested."

"Kyra?"

She shook her head too. "No thanks."

"Okay, bye."

"Bye." Izzy said with frustration in her eyes, Jaydon waving.

"You know Izzy, does she play normal truth or dare, or . . ."

"You wish. The kind of truth or dare she and the other plays gets insane, then it gets sexual. Trust me, she's that kind of girl and the others. I don't want to get involved. When she asked you on Tuesday which boy you think is cute, glad you didn't respond. 'Cause that's what we were doing and the look on your face, gave it all that you were uncomfortable."

"I was. I don't know any of you guys, apart from you and Kylie. But other than that . . ."

"Just don't like getting caught up in that kind of stuff, just not my thing."

"I agree."

Watching everyone pass in their cars or walking, he wishes that he could be there, out there. "Everyone has the freedom, they don't have to be in here and worry if they are going to live or die." Kyra mumbled.

"I know. They are so lucky."

He glanced behind his shoulder watching the people go by, then looked back at Kyra. "you okay?"

"Yeah . . . just thinking about my brother and how he would react when he finds that we may not come back."

"I know you'll live, who would kill you?"

"The killer."

"Okay, not what I mean, but okay."

Kyra let out a chuckle. "I know that's not what you mean, but it's obvious."

"I know it's obvious."

A ding echoed in the day. There were no people passing by so Jaydon thought it was one of them. "Is that yours?" he asked.

"Yes it is."

Kyra pulled her phone out and read the message. "Let's go, there's a meeting in the purple pod."

Jaydon hopped off the bench and they walked to school, pacing their feet every step they took. Going through the portable doors, Jaydon can see the others as they gather around. Once they get there, Izzy and Karen are coming down the hallway, being the last one.

"Okay, so we've decided to cast our votes on who's going to die next, and who's the killer." Daniel explained. "We need to have an idea on who the killer could be, and who's going to die next."

Half the people did each. He lined up for who the killer was. The line went fast as he only waited a couple of minutes. He voted for boys, then he waited in line for who might die, a girl. Once he chose, he stood aside with Kyra and waited. Everyone waited aside as Daniel and Kylo counted the votes for each one. "So, we have eight for girls for who's going to die." Daniel replied.

"And then ten for boys for the killer." Kylo said, surprised.

"So we have an estimate that one of the boys is the killer, and who's going to die will most likely be a girl . . . or a woman in this case." Daniel said.

Lunch rolled around and everyone sat in their groups to eat. Kyra and Jaydon sat in their little corner eating to themselves, talking in very low voices. After lunch, Jaydon and Kyra set their dishes in the sink and set themselves off. For the rest of the day, they spent time together in her room until dinner time. Then Jaydon headed off into his own direction into his own world. He went into his room and locked the door. Jaydon layed on the couch on his phone, listening to music. He texted his brother to see what's happening back at home. He missed his family and friends a lot. When he makes it out of here alive, he will go straight to see his family and never leave. He told his brother everything that happened so far. Jaydon texted him for a good two hours before stopping and getting ready for bed. It was only nine, so instead of going to bed, he headed out to the food room to get bottled water.

Walking down the quiet hallway, he passes the library and spots Kyra in there reading in one of the rocking chairs. Jaydon stops and stares for a good solid minute before moving on. He doesn't want to be a creep and stare, especially if her father catches him. He entered the deserted room, flicking the light switch on. He made his way to one of the fridges and opened it, stealing a water bottle before leaving the room. He made his way back, taking a sip of the nice, ice cold water. It slid all the way down his dry throat. Slipping into his room, he closed the door and watched on his phone.

Half past ten, Jaydon turned everything off and fell into a soundless sleep.
