Chapter Five

The mist shimmered as the message connected with Chiron. "Praise Iris," you muttered under your breath as you saw Chiron appear in front of you.

"Y/n! What a lovely surprise! How are you my dear?" Chiron asked he sat in his wheelchair. His brown hair was tucked behind his ears and his eyes sparkled as he smiled.

"Doing very well, Sir. I was wondering if you've received anything from the oracle recently?" you asked as you fidgeted with the lower button of your blouse nervously. However that you had missed camp, you enjoyed your time on Olympus. Simply longing a sense of adventure was a part of being away from the real world and surrounded by powerful entities. There was nothing you would do about it and it was a proven fact that Zeus wouldn't allow you leave for the day without permission. It was irritating that the god himself didn't trust you, but you kept to yourself and allowed the other gods and goddesses to talk him into allowing you more freedom.

"No, not a word. May I ask what's wrong?" Chiron questioned as he continued to look at you with a warm expression. You looked up and saw him looking at you with a quizzical expression.

"Something happened on Olympus. No one can get in or out of the mountain," you recalled as your mind went to the conversation you had had earlier with Apollo. "There is an unidentified source of power near the palace. A barrier has formed around the area, preventing all exits. Apollo has claimed that his oracle has had trouble giving prophecies once more and reports an electrical current to be present near the barrier. I'm afraid something has happened."

Chiron nodded his head in consideration as he contemplated on what to tell you next. "It seems as if the palace of the gods is under attack. Have there been any interferences ?" You simply shook your head in response. "Listen carefully to what I'm about to tell you-"

"Chiron, Will wants to know what to do with the leftover medical supplies," a male voice said as they walked into the room nonchalantly. Chiron sighed and turned towards his visitor after excusing himself.

"Nico, can you tell Will to place them in storage until further notice?" You heard Chiron ask as you waited. Hearing his name made your heart skip a beat and your stomach churn.

You couldn't hear what was said next as the ground began to shake beneath you. "Chiron!" you screamed as you felt the room around you begin to shake violently. A cackle filled the air as the ground beneath you began to part. You screamed as you fell through the floor and down the rift and into the inky darkness below.
