Sean steps out of the elevator. He is a detective android. There is a hostage situation going on and Sean is there to stop it. The date is August 15, 2038. The time is 8:29 PM.

SWAT: Negotiator on site. Repeat, negotiator on site. 

Savannah Justice: No, stop... I... I... I can't leave her. Oh, oh please, please, you gotta save my little girl... Wait... you're sending an android?

SWAT: Alright, ma'am. We need to go.

Savannah Justice: You can't...you can't do that! You W- Why aren't you sending a real person? Don't let that thing near her! Keep that thing away from my daughter! KEEP IT AWAY!

Felix is in the next room trying to save the hostage. Sean has to report to him. Androids don't have freedom.

Felix: Why are we wasting time sending an android to negotiate?! That piece of crap could jump from the rooftop any second. I DON'T GIVE A SHIT! My men are ready to step in... just give the order! Fuck! I don't believe this...

Sean finally reaches Felix and talks to him.

Sean: Captain Felix? My name is Sean. I'm the android sent by CyberLife.

Felix: It's firing at everything that moves, it already shot down two of my men... We could easily get it, but they're on the edge of the balcony. It it falls, she falls.

Sean: Do you know if it's been behaving strangely before this?

Felix: I haven't got a clue. Does it matter?

Sean: I need information to determine the best approach.

Felix: Listen, saving that kid is all that matters. So either you deal with this fucking android now, or I'll take care of it.

Sean goes to investigate and finds a tablet with a video on it. It's of the android and the hostage.

Kim: This is Budo, the coolest android in the world! Say hi, Budo!

Budo: Hello.

Kim: You're my bestie! We'll always be together!

By watching the video Sean finds out the android's name. Sean then goes into the living room.

Felix: All units, hold positions. The negotiator's going in.

SWAT: In position. Ready to assault.

Sean then finds the father's tablet and looks at it. The tablet has a order for a newer android on it.

Tablet: Your order for an AP700 android has been registered. CyberLife thanks you for your purchase.

In the background. the SWAT team is standing by the door and the android is scared of dying and being replaced.

Budo: Go away! All of you go away - or I'll jump!

Felix: Stay sharp. I want everybody ready to go at any second.

Budo: Leave us alone! I want all of you out of here now!

Felix: Get the paramedics ready. I've got a man down and another one wounded on the balcony. We have to evacuate him ASAP.

Budo: Get out of here! You have to go!

Felix: Hold positions. I repeat: hold positions.

SWAT 1: You gotta be kidding. That's their negotiator?

SWAT 2: Fuck, we don't need another machine to waste this prick...

A SWAT member gets shot by Budo.

SWAT 1: Holy shit! Cover me while I evacuate him. 

Felix: Man down! I repeat, man down! Requesting immediate evac!

SWAT 1: You're okay?

SWAT 2: Yeah... Yeah, I'm fine. 

Another member takes SWAT 2's position.

SWAT 1: Fucking android.

Sean goes to the kitchen.

SWAT: In position. Ready to assault.

SWAT: That cop is alive... I saw his leg move...

There are some SWAT members by the window to the roof.

SWAT 1: What are we waiting for? We should take down this asshole...

SWAT 2: I got a clean shot, man.

Sean stands in the way of the SWAT team in the kitchen.

SWAT: Get out of the fucking way!

Sean just stands in the kitchen. 

SWAT: What are you looking at?! Don't stand there!

Sean looks at the TV in the living room.

Reporter - ITM TV : It's been just over an hour since a little girl was taken hostage on the top floor of a building here in downtown Newark. Details are still emerging on what exactly happened, but the hostage taker could be the family's android. He may have taken the lives of at least one family member and a police officer... If confirmed, this would be the first case of an android deliberately taking human lives. By all signs, the SWAT team are preparing for an assault and-.

Sean takes too much time searching for clues.

Felix: What the fuck are you doing? You gonna talk to it or what?

After finding all of the information and clues on the android. Sean goes outside.

Budo: Stay back! Don't come any closer or I'll jump!

Kim: No! No, please! I'm begging you!

SWAT: Go, go, go!

Sean knows the deviant's name by looking at Kim's tablet.

Sean: Hi, Budo.

Budo: How...

Sean: My name is Sean.

Budo: How do you know my name?

Sean: I know a lot of things about you. I've come to get you out of this.

Sean tries to reassure Budo.

Sean: I'm not going to hurt you. I just want to talk and find a solution.

Budo: Talk? I don't wanna talk. It's too late for that now. It's too late...

Sean sees a wounded cop.

Cop: Please...Please help me...

Sean: He's losing blood. If we don't get him to a hospital, he's going to die.

Budo: All humans die eventually. What does it matter if this one dies now?

Sean: I'm going to apply a tourniquet.

Budo: Don't touch him! Touch him and I kill you!

Sean ignores Budo's request and helps the cop.

Sean: You can't kill me. I'm not alive.

Sean also found a gun while investigating. He took the gun.

Budo: Are you armed?

Sean tells the truth to Budo.

Sean: Yes. I have a gun.

Budo: Drop it! No sudden moves, or I'll shoot!

Sean: There, no more gun.

Sean came up with a possible cause as to why Budo went deviant. He came to this conclusion by looking at the father's tablet.

Sean: They were going to replace you and you became upset. That's what happened, right?

Budo: I thought I was part of the family. I thought I mattered... But I was just their toy, something to throw away when you're done with it...

Sean then asks about Budo and Kim. There was a video with Budo and Kim on Kim's tablet.

Sean: I know you and Kim were very close. You think she betrayed you - but she's done nothing wrong.

Budo: She lied to me... I thought she loved me... but I was wrong... She's just like all the other humans...

Kim: Budo, no...

Sean tries to be sympathetic with Budo.

Sean: Listen, I know it's not your fault. These emotions you're feeling are just errors in your software.

Budo: No, it's not my fault... I never wanted this... I loved them, you know...but I was nothing to them...just a slave to be ordered around...

Sean is close enough to Kim to at least talk to her. To help calm her down.

Sean: Are you okay, Kim?

Kim: Please help me... I don't wanna die! I don't wanna die...

Sean: Nobody's going to die. Stay calm. Everything's going to be fine.

The helicopter starts to annoy Budo.

Budo: Urgggh... I can't stand that noise anymore! Tell that helicopter to get out of here!

Sean tells the helicopter that he can deal with the situation.

SWAT: The situation is under control.

Sean: There, I did what you wanted.

Sean tries to get Budo to trust him.

Sean: You have to trust me, Budo. Let the hostage go and I promise you everything will be fine.

Budo tries to make a deal with Sean. To get away and not be destroyed.

Budo: I want everyone to leave... And I wanna car! When I'm outside the city, I'll let her go!

Sean makes a compromise with Budo.

Sean: That's impossible, Budo. Let the girl go and I promise you won't be hurt.

Budo is getting scared. He is scared of dying.

Budo: I don't wanna die...

Sean reassures Budo.

Sean: You're not going to die. We're just going to talk. Nothing will happen to you. You have my word.

Budo trusts Sean and agrees to his terms. 

Budo: Okay... I trust you...

The SWAT kills Budo.

Budo: You lied to me, Sean. You lied to me...
