"chapter 15- hell"

"chapter 15- hell"

homecoming day had finally arrived & all beverly's most popular teens headed to the baker house for pictures like they did before every school dance.
brooke and asher rung the doorbell to the baker residence. the door swung open & in they walked. brookes eyes immediately met with jordan's and she quickly looked away. it was kind of awkward considering, brooke had just admitted to her boyfriend the night before that she kissed his best friend. but asher surprisingly didn't seem to upset about the matter, and acted like it never happened.

"brooke you look so good, asher can you take a picture of us." sammy squealed shoving her smart phone in ashers face.

asher snapped a few pictures of the girls and then handed sammys phone back to her.

there was another ring of the door bell & coach baker yelled for someone to grab the door considering he was too preoccupied taking pictures of jordan with his malibu eye candy. spencer opened the door revealing a boy that spencer seemed to recognize. then down emerged olivia from the steps in a beautiful red dress, and everyone in the room couldn't help but stare. jordan put two and two together seeing that olivias date was chris.

"olivia are you serious." jordan questioned.

"late time i checked i don't need to run my dates by you." olivia clapped back.

"everyone get together let's take this photo. quick, quick, quick." the coach yelled as everyone got together for the group snapshot.

the music was blaring as everyone danced then layla approached brooke and asher in a panic.

"there's no football banner. it's supposed to be above the stage and that's ones supposed to be on the side." layla exclaimed.

"okay so, it's just a stupid banner. this ones fine." asher laughed.

"no asher, layla worked really hard on this dance. & that stupid banner is how we're acknowledging your team." brooke hissed.

"i'm sorry." asher said apologizing to both girls.

"you haven't had a chance to enjoy yourself brooke let's just dance." asher said pulling her by the arm. jordan watched across the room and approached them.

"no, i can't. i have to help layla fix this." brooke said starting to walk off with layla.

"you sure this is really just about the banner." asher asked.

"you okay." jordan said softly resting his hand on brookes arm.

"are you serious man. you have a lot of nerve stepping to my girl right now." asher yelled.

"look i'm not trying to fight with you asher." jordan retorted.

"well maybe you should've thought about that before you made a pass at brooke." asher replied.

"i didn't mean for it all to go down like that." jordan said in his defense.

"well, it did. but that kiss didn't mean shit to brooke, so how about you stop stalking her. because you were just a mistake." asher hissed stepping in jordan's face.

jordan glanced over at brooke who was obviously getting upset by the words being said.

"you really want to go there." jordan said stepping up to asher only to be pulled away by spencer.

"wow i'll just fix the banner myself brooke." layla said running off leaving the couple alone.

"do you have to be such an ass. i'm here with you aren't i, so what the hell are you trying to prove." brooke asked.

"i'm not trying to prove anything." asher replied.

"okay then being here with me should be enough." brooke sighed walking away, leaving asher alone in the middle of the homecoming dance.

causing asher to head over to the jj for a sip, or multiple of liquid courage.

brooke walked out of the gymnasium and sat on the steps. & like always out walked jordan baker, just in time to accompany her.

"i'm sorry about what asher said. kissing you wasn't a mistake." brooke smiled.

"you're still with asher though." jordan replied confused.

"he's going through a lot right now, and i didn't want it to feel like i'm kicking him when he's already down. &-" brooke started before jordan cut her off.

"change is scary, i get it." jordan said looking brooke in the eyes.

"you know what i admire about you, you're a giver. you're always putting everyone else's feelings before your own. olivias like that, but when is it gonna be your turn. you deserve to have people in your life who are gonna take care of you for a change. you deserve happiness." jordan gushed kissing brooke on the cheek and walking back into the gym.

brooke unlocked her phone and texted asher to come meet her.

"brooke what do you want to talk about." asher asked.

"look, i'm so sorry. you & me, it's not gonna work anymore." brooke breathed out.

"your choosing my best friend over me." asher replied.

"i'm not choosing jordan. i'm choosing myself that's the point. look, asher if we're being honest with how much we've been fighting lately. we should of done this a while ago. we've both been through a lot and maybe we were just holding on to each other for the wrong reasons." brooke admitted and asher rolled his eyes.

"wow." asher huffed.

"so your just gonna do whatever you please, huh. everyone else's feelings be damned. there's more of your mother in you than i though." asher yelled.

"hey, you've been drinking and you're hurt. maybe you should just go home." brooke suggested ignoring his previous comment.

"why the fuck would i leave brooke. the party's just getting started." asher said walking back into the gym and heading to jj for more of the illegal juice he had brought with him to the school sanctioned event.

olivia peered across the room at asher drinking out of the flask and approached him.

"maybe you should chill on the drinking." olivia suggested.

"i'm just getting started what are you talking about." asher laughed.

"look, i can recognize a downward spiral when i see one." olivia replied.

"no, you don't understand. i'm celebrating, turns out brooke cheated with your brother. so you dont have anything to feel guilty about anymore. so cheers." asher said bringing the flask to his mouth for more, but he stopped when he saw the look on olivias face.

she didn't even have to say it, he could tell by that look. she had already known what brooke and his best friend had done and the anger within asher lit up like a blazing fire.

"you knew this whole time and didn't tell me. you know i thought you were different olivia, but turns out your just like everyone else." asher yelled walking away.

brooke walked back into the dance and directly up to jordan baker.

"i'm tired of doing the right thing." brooke laughed.

"so what does that mean." jordan asked.

"i'm saying i think i want to dance." brooke smiled as jordan grabbed her hand.

"jordan what the fuck." ripely cursed.

"you can go order an uber my cards in my wallet." jordan winking & walking off with brooke.

they stood in the middle of the dance slow dancing, and it was like the world around them had gone silent. asher watched from a far stunned that the love of his life walked away from him so easily, just like everyone else in his life. asher took one more long hard shot of the pinnacle from the flask and rushed to the stage. he grabbed the microphone from the dj.

"what's up beverly." asher screamed and the whole gymnasium cheered back and clapped.

"allow me to introduce you all to the best damn football team in southern california." asher continued as well as the cheers.

"spencer james, the newest receiver himself. get up here. make some noise everyone." asher cheered.

"and that beast. jj, my boy. best damn linebacker, i've ever played with." asher complimented as jj rushed the stage.

"and of course. the real mvp. beverlys finest jordan baker. he's the best there is. isn't that right, brooke." asher yelled into the microphone as the room went quiet.

this is exactly what brooke meant when she said things would go to hell, this exact moment.

"i mean you did cheat on me with my bestfriend, so you would know. no, it's okay really. because technically i did it first. tell her, olivia. tell her go on. tell your bestfriend how we had sex, way before her & jordan were even a thing." asher screamed as coach grabbed the microphone from his hands. the crowd was filled with gasps and whispers. all eyes were on brooke and olivia.

brooke gazed across the room at olivia who was already staring back. brooke walked out of the gym and olivia followed.

"brooke." olivia yelled.

"i don't want to hear it. how could you do that to me." brooke yelled back.

"it didn't mean anything." olivia promised.

"you let me pour my heart out to you, knowing you stabbed me in the back." brooke cried.

"i didn't want to give you advice. you begged me." olivia replied.

"because i thought i was talking to my best friend. not a fake bitch." brooke cursed.

"wow, you're such a hypocrite. you messed around with jordan knowing you had a boyfriend." olivia clapped back.

"it's not the same." brooke said.

"you're right it's not. i was fucked up on drugs when i had sex with asher. so what's your excuse. maybe now you can finally admit that your not little miss perfect after all. & you're a messy human who screws up just like the rest of us." olivia blurted out.

"thank you for enlightening me." brooke said walking away.

brooke ran out the school doors and into the car. all things had gone to hell and within ten minutes her entire life had some how come crashing down on top of her. & she didn't have the strength to move the debris.
