Walking with my team we went to take our places as the preliminaries began. As I turned to walk up the steps I glance over and just caught a glimpse of a boy with what looked like red hair turn around a corner. It felt like my heart stopped. I mean...it's not impossible. There are ninja here from other village's. But what are the chances that I actually reunite with him here. I have to see if it's actually him. I don't even know what I would do if it is, but my curiosity is gnawing at my brain, I can't stand it. I look back at my team to make sure they don't notice me slip away, then turn to chase after the boy. I creep up on every corner to make sure the coast is clear and after a few turns I hear a girls voice.

    "No way we aren't doing that Kankuro, you're too impatient." I hear her say. I slowly peek around the corner careful to ensure I don't get caught. "Whatever!" I hear a boy say. As I look I see two people that were blocking my view before. The girl had sandy blonde hair in two updo's on either side of her head as well as a big fan folded up on her back. The boy was wearing a black hood and was carrying something on his back as well, though I couldn't make out what it was as it was wrapped in bandages. Their backs were facing me and once again it seemed they were blocking my view of the other boy they were with, all I could see were his feet and legs through theirs. As soon as I thought that the girl moved, walking passed him and so, my gut feelings were confirmed.

   I froze and quickly hid behind the wall to collect my thoughts and sort out my emotions, their voices becoming background noise. Flustered, Confused, Anxious. So many questions. Would he remember me? Does he even care about me anymore? Would he be happy to see me again? His expression seemed cold and emotionless. I can't help but wonder what he's like now. With all that's happening in my head (and my heart) right now there's no way I can confront him now. I turn to go meet back up with my team and start down the halls.

   "You." I hear. This voice did not belong to either the girl or the guy I heard before. This one was deeper and unforgiving. I stop in my tracks, feeling like I'd just been caught committing a crime. I turn quickly to see him. "G-Gaara..I..." I stutter, not ready for this unexpected reunion. The two from before round the corner as well. "Hey! What are you doing sneaking around eavesdropping. What did you hear?!" The boy says as he walks up to me about to grab my arm. Quickly I knock his arm away and step back taking a defensive stance. "Kankuro, enough." Gaara says, walking slowly towards us. "What did you hear?" He asks menacingly as he glared my way. Taken aback by his question I stand silent for a moment. "Answer me." He says once again, his expression hardening, I see bits of sand begin to creep from behind him and towards me.

   No way, why would he do that, I've never been a victim of the sand he welds. Whats going on? "Nothing, I heard nothing." I say putting my hands up in surrender and stepping back slowly. "Just...let me get back to my team." The sand receeds. "Leave now." He states finally as I back away slowly, keeping my eyes on them all. "So we're just gonna believe her?" I hear Kankuro say. I'm too far away to hear the rest as I quickly get back to Ino, Shikamaru, and Choji.

   As I stand in with everyone I can't help but think back to the encounter. What just happened? Who were those people he was with? I can't even tell if he even recognized me. If he did then...why was he so cold to me. Not only that but, they seemed concerned that I'd overheard their conversation. That's a bit worrying but regardless I truly didn't hear anything they said. Should I alert someone about them anyways just to keep an eye on them? It was suspicous. What am I talking about? I'm probably just overwhelmed right now. Shikamaru must have noticed my unease as he asked me if I was all good. "Yea, just ready to get this done with." I replied.

Well well well, what a reunion. Almost like...it's commemorating my return HAHAHA. Anyways ya, hear you goo. Sorry to leave everyone hanging for so long. Also no one probably noticed but I deleted the last chapter 7 and redid it to this bc the other one added nothinnggg to the story.
