Patchpaw is an average sized tom with a black pelt and white "cow" spots. His eyes are dark yellow, and along with his naturally thin fur, he his missing a patch of fur from the top of his head. He's gay.

Patchpaw is Applepaw's best friend, and her polar opposite. While Applepaw is outgoing and optimistic, Patchpaw is shy and pessimistic about both the world, and himself. He was born without any littermates, although he does have a big brother, Bone, who left the clan to join a group of rouges. Growing up, Bone, then Bonetail, was Patchpaw's biggest role model, and the kit thought of his brother as the best cat in the world. When he betrayed them, it broke Patchpaw. His father was homophobic, and his mother grew distant. Soon, all he had left was Applepaw, and all she had was Patchpaw.
