(y/n) - your name

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Ready Puff?" Draco asks as he stands by the bench on the astronomy tower, finally being here after so long while (y/n) sifted through her bag and making sure she had everything she needed.

"Yep! Got everything here! But I hate how cold it is..." she shivers, her cheeks puffed cutely which makes the Slytherin boy chuckle lightly, wearing layers of shirts, jumpers and coats with a scarf covering her face and a beanie on her head.

"You look like a multi-coloured marshmallow." he laughs as she glares at him from beneath her scarf.

"I'm not risking getting cold!" the two rush downstairs and outside of the castle to where the rest of the students were, (y/n) turning around and frowning as she saw Harry waving goodbye to her from the clock tower. The students were going to Hogsmeade again and Harry couldn't go for obvious reasons but they made the plan for him to be picked up later in an hour or so.

"Blimey! You look like you can barely move in that!" Ron gasps as (y/n) waddles up to him and Hermione, Draco nodding goodbye and meeting up with his friends.

"Yeah I think it's getting a little stuffy-hold one." once Hermione walked away, the Hufflepuff snapped her fingers so she could get rid of some layers. She breathed out properly now that she was wearing one shirt and a winter coat, zipping it up before the two ran off to the carriages.

"Where do you want to go first?" Hermione asks as the three of them got into the carriage, heading to Hogsmeade.

"I want to visit the sweet store and the joke store again for sure." (y/n) says.

"Let's visit the Shrieking Shack! We missed out last time."

"We didn't miss out, we were too chicken." (y/n) points out and the boy rolls his eyes. The three of them continued talking through the ride until they got to the village, roaming round the stores to eat some sweets and drink some hot tea before they started the long trek to the Shrieking Shack.

"It's meant to be the most haunted building in Britain. Did I mention that?" Hermione says.

Twice." Ron answers.

"Let's get closer!" (y/n) grins, excited for an adventure.

"Actually I'm fine here." Ron stutters out.

"Chicken!" (y/n) calls out, turning around to see Draco and his goons walking up to his friends.

"Well, well. Look who's here." he saunters down the snow, grinning at the Hufflepuff. "Puff, Weaslebee and the mudblood."

"Malfoy." (y/n) warns as she walks back towards him but he looks at Ron and Hermione.

"Youtwo shopping for your dream home?Seems a bit grand for you, WeaselBee. Don't your family all sleep in one room?"

"Shut your mouth, Malfoy." Ron and (y/n) both say, the Slytherin tsking.

"Now that's not very friendly Puff." she yelps as he pulls her against him, an arm around her shoulders. "Boys, I think we're going to have to teach Weasel-Bee to respect hissuperiors."

"Hope you don't mean yourself!" Hermione snaps as she tries to pull (y/n) away from Draco's arms but he glares at her.

"How dare you speak to me, youfilthy, little mud-" before the Hufflepuff could smack Draco, he gets pelted by a random snowball from midair, her wriggling out of his arms as he turns to see who did that. "Who did that!?" Malfoy glances about in confusion when he saw no one. (y/n) gasps when another snowball hits Malfoy and he stumbles back, another one hitting him again when more soon follow. "Puff!"

"It's not me!" she raises her arms in defence, laughing when the goons get pranked. Their beanies cover their eyes or their pants fall down to their knees. (y/n) and Hermione burst out laughing when the one with his pants down falls forward on his face, the other being spun around by his scarf. (y/n) bends down to roll a ball of snow, throwing it at Draco and he gasps as he falls over the legs of the fallen goon.

"Puff!" he gasps out, seeing her giggle happily and he grins, getting a snowball and pelting it at her.

"You didn't!" she exclaims as she wipes the snow off her, Ron and Hermione watching with surprise as she throws another snowball at Draco while Harry was too busy pranking his goons. They scramble back up on their feet and run away while (y/n) ran off to hide in the trees to avoid being hit by Draco as he threw snowballs at her.

"So (y/n) is just leaving us with a ghost? And going with Malfoy!?" Ron exclaims, watching as she threw a snowball into the trees and a blanket of snow crashes down on the Slytherin boy who stood frozen in shock. He looks up at her with a wicked smile and she runs off squealing happily as he chases after her.

"I'm not going to forgive you for that Puff!" he exclaims, laughing as he manages to catch up to her and picks her up before spinning her around.

"You're seeing what I'm seeing right?" Harry says as he drops the cloak, standing behind Ron and Hermione who jumps in fright and turns to look at him.

"Harry! Of course, it was you!" Ron laughs out, clapping his friends back at how amazing those pranks were but Harry was frowning sadly at how (y/n) smiled at Draco happily while he carried her away.

They don't like each other... do they...?

~~~~~~~~
"Put me down! Put me down!" she exclaims, the platinum blonde-haired boy holding her tight. "I swear it wasn't me!" the Slytherin boy smiles and gently sets the Hufflepuff down as she huffs out, shaking the snow off her body. "You're covered in snow." she snickers, leaning up to brush it off his cap as he wipes away the stray ones on her red nose.
"Let's go get some butterbeer." Draco suggests when (y/n) suddenly turns around to sneeze, shivering.
"What about your goons?"
"My what?" he laughs lowly as he looks at her while they walked back to the village.
"Those two bodyguards that always follow you around. I keep forgetting their names and which one is which."
"You mean Crabbe and Goyle?"
"That's the one yes!" he chuckles as she points at him.
"Well, those meatheads are probably running off away to hide somewhere so we can visit the shops together." (y/n) nods, walking with Draco and she looks up at him before taking her camera to take a picture of him with his pink cheeks and his smile on his face. "Did you just take a picture of me?"
"Maybe..."
"Come here!" she shrieks out in surprise as he pulls her close and quickly takes her camera from her hands.
"Draco! Come on!"
"If you take a picture of me, there has to be one of you!"
"No!"
"Yes!" The boy runs off laughing, throwing snow at the girl as she yelps and he quickly takes a picture of her covered in snow. Her cheeks and her nose were bright pink, eyes wide with glee as snowflakes stuck to her hair and her glasses.
"Ok, enough of that!" she uses her powers to snatch her camera back into her hands but the boy was brought back along to her since he didn't let go.
"Ok, ok." Draco finally lets go, grabbing (y/n)'s hand and pulling her through the village to the Three Broomsticks Inn.
"Finally!" the girl sighs out in bliss, shaking off the rest of the snow as the kids head to a secluded booth, sitting down next to each other in one seat. They order their butterbeer as they shed off their coat, scarf and beanie, thanking the waiter who sets their drinks down on the table. "Whoever came up with this drink is a genius!" (y/n) says after she takes a sip of the warm sweetness, Draco laughing at the frothy moustache on her face and she quickly wipes it off. "Are you going home this Christmas?" she asks and he nods slowly.
"We won't be able to talk during Christmas break. Hunter can't fly through this crazy snow."
"Loki neither. Poor thing is shivering in my bed as we speak. He hated the owlery."
"What do we do then...?" The Slytherin boy frowns at the thought of not being able to talk to the Hufflepuff girl but she grins at him.
"I might actually have the perfect birthday gift for that." she looks around before snapping her fingers, a box appearing on the table all wrapped up neatly in green Christmas wrapping paper. "Happy Belated 14th Birthday Draco." the boy beams at her happily, opening the lid of the box to find more cassettes of songs she liked this year plus a strange contraption inside.
"What is it?"
"It's a telephone," (y/n) whispers lowly. "and yes it's another muggle contraption but it lets you talk to whoever you want whenever you want."
"Really?" Draco gasps at the idea. "But muggle contraptions don't work in wizard households."
"I enchanted this one myself! So you can call me when you want or I can call you."
"How does it work?" the boy rests the box down between them on the booth.
"See those numbers, every person that owns one of these machines have a unique number to call them specifically. This is my number." she passes him a paper with a bunch of numbers on it and he looks at it weirdly. "You type in the number one by one without getting one wrong and then you pick up the phone or the receiver." (y/n) picks up the handle-looking piece attached to a stringy cord and Draco looks at how she places it to her ear. "The top is for your ear to listen, the bottom you speak into."
"How does it turn on?"
"Well because it's enchanted, it doesn't need to be plugged in since it doesn't need electricity anymore. You can just dial my number and I'll answer you. It has a loud ringtone so I won't call you in case I get you in trouble with your parents."
"Thank you (y/n), it's amazing!" Draco grins happily knowing he could talk to her whenever he wanted now, carefully putting the lid on the box.
"I also have one more thing for you!" she quickly summons a small box in her hand, carefully passing it to the boy who looks at her before gingerly taking the gift from her hands. He opens it and his eyes widen seeing the ring inside. "I saw that you started wearing rings so I thought I might get you one..."
"(y/n)... this is beautiful..." he carefully takes the ring out of the box, looking at it as it shone under the light before putting it on his index finger. He wasn't going to take this ring off ever.
"Oh thank god it fits!" (y/n) sighs in relief that he loved the ring since she wasn't sure how he was going to react when she bought it at the wizard shop the last time they visited Hogsmeade.
She suddenly noticed Draco looking shy as he brought out a box he was holding onto, passing it to her and she smiles at him. "I know it's not much but... Happy early 14th Birthday (y/n)."
"Thank you, Draco. I'll open it on Christmas-"
"-actually... you can open it now...?" he was worried she wasn't going to like the necklace and wanted to see her reaction now, looking at her face as she opens the box and a gasp leaves her lips. Her eyes widen in awe, a twinkle shining in them as a smile grows brightly on her face.
"It's beautiful Draco! It's so lovely!" she truly did love the necklace, a silver snake curling around a beautiful emerald that shone a bright green. "It's so pretty..." the boy lets out a sigh of relief, taking the necklace out from the box and urging the girl to turn around so he could put it on her. She shivers against the cold metal that rests against her neck as she held her hair up, feeling the gem against her fingertips with a blush on her cheeks. "Can you take the other one off please." Draco's heart lept at that knowing only his necklace was around (y/n), taking the chain off and carefully handing it to her as she turned around to face him.
It really does look so lovely on her...
She beamed at him happily, touching the necklace. "Thank you so much Draco."
"Only the best for you (y/n)." he takes in her flustered self, chuckling as she looks away shyly. "Here, you can keep this one on as a bracelet." he takes the old chain with the key on it and wraps it around her wrist securely before clipping it, holding her hand after. "Happy Christmas (y/n)."
"Happy Christmas Draco."
