(y/n) - your name

"Home sweet Home!" (y/n) grins happily as she brushes out the skirt of her uniform she changed into in the train bathrooms, pulling out the shirt since again, she hated things being tucked with her cloak on. Her braided her fell over her shoulder since her hood was up, pushing her glasses up to see the majestic of the castle when she got off the boat that travelled over the lake after getting off the platform from the train. The cold breeze made her curtain fringe move around and she hastily tries to hold it back, rushing up the stairs with Hermione to get inside the warm building.
"You really should tuck your shirt in." Hermione quips, helping (y/n) fix her tie again.
"Nah, don't like that."
"You could get in trouble with the teachers."
"At this point, they have given up on getting me to fix up my appearance." (y/n) shrugs, the girls heading to their dorms to make sure their belongings were all there. The Hufflepuff knew her stuff was her in the dorm after snapping her fingers, eyes gleaming red quickly before it flashed away.
"I'll see you in the Great Hall with the others." Hermione says, running off and (y/n) nods before she does the same. She greets her housemates that say hello to her when she gets to the common room, rushing up to the dorms to see her stuff all there on her bed. Since no one was around, she easily set everything where it was supposed to be with her powers. She quickly ducked down below her bed, pulling off the floorboards to check her trunk and her printing machine was still there and it was.
"Everything is in its place. Good." she nods and stands back up, stretching until she heard hooting and saw an owl flying outside a window. "Hunter!" the window frames glow red as she opens it, letting the owl in as he perched on her bed and dropped the envelope on the sheets before hopping up and down excitedly. "Alright, alright, your treats." she chuckles, summoning Hunter's favourite snacks next to him and he coos happily before eating. "What does Draco want?" she mutters out, seeing that the letter was from him and she opens it.
Astronomy Tower Now.
D.M~
"That ass could say please at least..." (y/n) hisses, suddenly noticing some ink appearing at the bottom.
Please (y/n)~
"Ok, ok. I'm coming." she jumps up and hovers over the floor, waving her hand to cloak herself before flying up to the wall and separating the bricks just enough to get through before mending it back together. Hunter flies out through the open window before (y/n) closes it and she flies straight up for the Astronomy Tower. Draco was pacing back and forth at the tower while he waited anxiously, running his fingers through his hair hoping (y/n) would open the letter and see him. He didn't notice her hovering by the railings and watching him pacing, uncloaking herself with her arms crossed. "You wanted to see me."
"Bloody hell!" he shrieks in fright, falling back on the bench to see her narrowing her eyes at him like some sort of goddess judging humanity. She floated down on the tower floor, shaking off her powers and waiting.
"Well?" Draco quickly stands up and clears his throat, fixing his hair and wiping his hands on his cloak.
"Look, I'm sorry-"
"-you say that yet you mock my friends anyway? It's like there are two different yous. The one you act with me and the pompous git that terrorises my friends and calls them hurtful names!"
"My father-"
"-I get it that you don't want to get on his bad side or want to get his approval, for god knows what reason, but you're just acting like him-"
"-you take that back!" Draco yells out suddenly, (y/n) stumbling back in surprise. "I'm nothing like him!" he hisses but holds himself back when he saw the shock on her face.
"No... you're not but if you continue down the path of treating people terribly, you might as well be." Draco sneers at (y/n)'s words but knew it was true. He didn't want to act cruel but it was the only way to get any sort of attention from his father. "I'm not going to lecture you, that's for you to decide on what you want to do."
"Are we... are we still going to be friends?"
"Yes Draco, despite your annoying cockiness, I like watching the stars with you." (y/n) nods, letting her arms drop. She was still annoyed with him for calling her other friend's cruel names but not as much as before. "We should head to the Great Hall before-" the two jump when they hear sudden screaming, running over to the railing to see a flying car lose control in the night mid-air.
"Is that Potter and Weasley?" Draco laughs at their frightened faces but (y/n) grew worried as they were about to hit a tree.
"Shit!" she tries to take control of the car with her powers, gritting her teeth as she planted her feet to try and hold the weight of it.
"(y/n)!" Draco gasps in fear seeing her arms burst into those red lighting streaks beneath her shirt that hurt her, growling in annoyance at Potter and Weasley for causing her harm while she tried to save them.
"Come on!" (y/n) hisses out, slowly falling to her knees as she tries to set the car down safely on the ground, Draco quickly holding her up by her waist so she doesn't get hurt.
"Those idiots!" he sneers, ignoring the heavy flush on his cheeks knowing he was holding (y/n) tightly by her waist as she struggled against the weight of the car. She sighs in relief as her powers vanish, the car on the ground safely and she falters into Draco's arms.
"Shit..." she winces in pain, breathing heavily. She had never had to lift anything heavy before or control something as big as a car, never realising that she would feel its entire weight crush on her shoulders.
"I'm going to kill those two!" Draco exclaims, freezing when he feels (y/n)'s head drop against his chest. "No, no wake up!"
"I'm awake... just tired..." she mutters out sleepily, the boy slowly helping her back up on her feet. He peers over the railing to see Harry and Ron get thrown out of the car before taking (y/n) down to the kitchens by the dungeon's corridor. He didn't understand why he was helping her so much but it felt nice to know that she could trust him enough to seek help from him anyway.
"Careful..." Draco mutters out as he carefully set (y/n) down on a stool in the kitchens, carefully rolling up her sleeves before getting a cloth to dampen it and coming back to wrap it around her arms.
"Shit!" she exclaims and he slaps a hand over her mouth, anxiously looking around to make sure no one heard her grunts of pain. "I'm going to throttle Ron and Harry when I get feeling back!" she hisses when he lowers his hand from her mouth.
"Put a curse on them instead, make them learn their lesson." Draco quickly says.
"Thanks, for looking out for me again Draco." (y/n) says finally able to wriggle her fingers and feel them as the smoke fades away from her arms. He doesn't say anything and takes the cloth off, frowning deeply at how the streaks splintered through her skin. It looked so painful.
"How long...?"
"A couple days to fade away. It hurts to move my body sometimes after using my powers too much. That's why I need to train."
"I can help you." Draco quickly says but shuts his mouth, cursing at himself for why he said that.
"Really?"
"Yeah... when we meet up at the tower at night I can help you train..." he slowly suggests and (y/n) nods with a tired smile.
"I would appreciate that. Thank you, Draco."
"It's no problem at all..." the boy shuffles on his feet quietly, an idea coming up. "We can practice on the Quidditch Pitch, I'm sure there's some equipment we can use to get you to practice on."
"Sounds like a plan."
~~~~~~~~
It was a brand new morning at Hogwarts, a sunny start to the first day of the year as second-year students huddled around in the greenhouse for their class. (y/n) scrunched her nose at the smell of dirt and manure, a gardening cloak protecting her clothes from the mess and gloves on her hands.
"It smells terrible in here..." (y/n) complains.
"Agreed." she jumps as she looks next to her to see Draco standing there after he walked in with his goons, her eyes wide that he was talking to her out in public like this. She quickly looks down, fiddling with her gloves to pretend she wasn't talking to him.
"And you're talking to me why?" she mutters out quietly.
Draco doesn't say anything first, looking down at the girl who kept her head down before looking down at her arms. "How are your arms feeling?" he asks her and her eyes widen at the fact that he had taken her left hand to push up the sleeve. The streaks were almost gone now after a deep sleep. Granted, she missed out on dinner last night and breakfast this morning, almost missing her first class of the day.
"Better. Still aching but the main thing is that I'm hungry like hell." Draco bites down on his bottom lip to hold back his chuckle, letting (y/n) go when the teacher walks in to welcome them to the class. She asks about Mandrake Roots, Hermione being the only one who knows all the answers obviously by heart.
"Excellent. Ten points toGryffindor!" Sprout announces, the Golden trio looking at each other with excitement as Draco just scowls at how easily they got points. And for what? Just answering a question. He should be getting points for every correct answer he answers then!
Sprout explains about the Mandrakes in front of the students, (y/n) noticing the earmuffs in front of her. She doesn't notice Draco watching her as she tucks her fringe behind her ears before putting the earmuffs on, smiling at the way her cheeks puff even more from the pressure of the head accessory while putting his on. He and all the other students suddenly wince and grasp their ears when the Mandrake Sprout pulls out, cries loudly in a high shrieking frequency. Draco blinks ins surprise as (y/n) unknowingly bumps back against his chest, her wincing from the sound as she presses down on her ears tightly.
Professor Sprout plunges the bawling creature deep into a pot, covering it up with soil while Neville faints and falls to the floor. "Longbottom's been neglecting his earmuffs."
"No, ma'am, he's just fainted." Seamus explains and the professor sighs, Draco snickering at the scene until Sprout just tells Seamus to leave Neville on the floor.
"Right! On we go! Plenty of pots to go around. Grasp your Mandrake, and pull it up!" the students all hesitate, leaning far from the Mandrake before each one pulls it out of the pot.
There was a cacophony of painful screeching and cries, (y/n) being the first to drop the ugly baby in an empty pot and cover it with soil before covering her ears. Draco however was mucking around like he usually does, scratching the chin of his Mandrake until it chomps down on his finger. She saw this and laughs at his face that was scrunched up in annoyance and slight pain, struggling to pull his finger out until he could and wincing in pain. He wipes his finger on his coat, glaring at the Mandrake angrily and dropping it in an empty pot to shut it up with soil.
