Chapter 9
You were shrouded in darkness. You had no idea where you were. You couldn't see or move. But you could hear voices.
"Natsu, you've been here all week. You should go home and rest." You heard gramps. You hadn't realized how much you missed him until now.
"I can't! What if she wakes up!" Natsu being as stubborn as usual refused.
"At least come down stairs and eat something." You no longer heard voices after that.
You had no idea how to get out of the state you were in. A place in between life and death. What a scary place. Almost worst than death itself.
This continued for days. Being able to hear the pleas of your friends but not being able to do anything killed you inside.
One day the darkness disappeared. When you opened your eyes you were brought with the familiar sight of the guild infirmary. But something was off.
You didn't hear anything coming from downstairs. No fighting or drunken rubbish, just an Erie silence.
You lifted your legs out of the covers and placed your feet on the wood floor. The coldness off the floor seeped into the bottoms of your feet. With an uncertain push you pushed your self to your feet.
You made your way out the door and onto the balcony above the guild bar. You were met with a sight that made you want to cry. All of the guild members present in the guild hall were silent, no one drinking, laughing, smiling, or even talking. The quest board was filled with untaken requests.
With a boost of courage you broke the silence. " What kind of welcome back party is this? I've been gone for so long you'd think there would be a celebration or something. Maybe I should just go back to sleep."
