Author's Note

You know what's unique about Narabali?

Perhaps a lot of things. This is my first novel that is standalone and not part of a series. This novel was started purely for the readers; it would have never been born had readers not demanded a different ending for a certain character. I love to say that I write for my own passion first and then for the world. Yes, it's always nice to see people learn and enjoy from my books, understand my perception and become a part of something new. But I never thought I would be writing Narabali. Usually, it's me writing something I love and then others loving it. This is it feels somewhat reversed, right?

To be honest, I often questioned if this demand of my readers was justified. I am quite a stubborn person when it comes to ethics. Like, you wouldn't find me loving It Ends With Us or Haunting Adeline stuff. I was wondering if somewhere my readers were getting carried away loving a criminal like Hrishav.

Then after speaking with CalmGuy9 and _abhipreeti_ , I realised what was actually happening. Tell me if my analysis is correct.

The people were reading Daughters of Kalika from the perspective of Maya, so they always had a positive image of Hrishav and thanks to my narration, it got even more twisted. So, when he ultimately came out as a villain, there was this hope of an alternate ending. I realised no one was actually supporting what he did, but they got attached to a certain name, personality, and expected something happier. Which is, to be honest, very much human.

I also would like to confess that yes, the primary reason I call Daughters of Kalika a horror novel is because of this psychological impact of Hrishav.

Anyways, when I came to the conclusion that my readers indeed deserved therapy for what I did, and after some intense encouragement from _abhipreeti_ I jumped to writing Narabali. Contrary to my latest works, this one was more go with the flow. I hope it turned out well!

I wanted to go dark with this book and deeper. Although I personally feel the later chapters could be more polished, I appreciate myself for completing this while juggling a new job. Yup, for those who don't know yet, I got myself into a government Bank and am currently posted as a junior officer. I mostly work in operations but also assist in credit.

Maybe in the future I'll edit this book further and make it better to please myself lol. For now, I am keeping this as it is. I am so glad that with the completion of Narabali I now have five completed novels!

I eagerly look forward to your reviews— what you felt about the plot, the characters and the feelings you hold while the end is still fresh. It would really improve my day!

Lastly, while you are still here, do consider giving my other books a chance.

1. Kama Series

Book 1 is Kama: Liberation Vol-I. For the lovers of desi romance, desi fantasy, desi werewolves, asian tropes like reincarnation, parallelism drawn to mythologies around the world (the list would go on, this is a whole package) do try out this world.

2. Queen Series

Book 1 is Queen of Death. For the lovers of ancient history (particularly Egypt), fantasy, steamy romance and enemies to lovers, I got you.

3. The Maya Mysteries

I think this needs no introduction 👀 Book 1 is Daughters of Kalika.

You can also try out my novellas, Son of Mah (romantasy) and Sikander, Don't Die (historical fiction). Both are LGBTQ.

Before you guys leave, do you have some ideas for any more books? I can't promise I'll start them. I am very unpredictable and currently lack time. I might start a new book, continue a series or just be on break. But still I look forward to your ideas. Please ensure those are somewhat aligned to the stuff I write (I write a variety of genre lol but can't do contemporary romance yet lol)

So, yeah?
